A big part of what we do as humans is subconscious ~ I still believe aggressive people are drawn to people who have an overly kind look to there face. Their predators and can see a caring or sensitive person in a crowd.

Can’t agree more. Too often, people talk about how we attract them but so little is said about how they are attracted to us.

True. We must run away from abusers. There is no excuse for abuse, no matter who the abuser is : your parent, sibling, family member or anybody else!

Thank you so much for these insights. Anything that triggered her guilt or shame was dangerous...even a shift in my facial expressions or mood after I'd been verbally abused and berated would trigger worse abuse. My fear turned inward, fear of doing or saying the wrong thing. And especially fear of any act or expression of self-protection. I attract mean and selfish people because feeling hurt or angry in response to abuse had become unavailable to me. You had to stoically and even thankfully take it. It's just so confusing. I keep touching the flame, because there is no pain only shame and self blame. Crazy how we are molded to become complicant victims. 😢

Beware of the videos about stoicism that pops out like mushrooms on KZbin. They are not really stoic and can lead people to think complaining or not sharing others opinions are wrong. They can also isolate you and shut you down. Even psychologists have been complaining about how distorted they are.

Please pray for me prayers are all we need! I’m trying to balance everything on my own, but Lord JESUS I need your help because I’m failing miserably providing for my sons as a single mother. Both my boys are special needs. I’m so overwhelmed trying to support them. I’m constantly struggling to make ends meet, to pay my bills, and to put food on the table. I’m ashamed and I’m mocked because of my situation. Jesus guide me and give me strength.💕❤️

In my experience, and I have a lot, a narcissist will use pity (their stories) to determine if you are empathetic even if they just met you, spend 95% of the time they interact with you talking about themselves and watch for your reactions, and if they want something from you, they will gove you the narcissist stare.

Trust that people are kind? ..but that's not the true-baseline of human beings - the most primary baseline is survival and competition. Most people prioritise their own self interest. Just like animals in the wild. That's not coming from a fear-perspective, it's simply realistic. Yes there are people who won't go out of their way to hurt us.. but the number of people that will actually 'support and protect' us, are very, very ,very, very small. Love your explanation with the Moth and Flame, totally resonates..

Maybe because the clinical concept of narcissism is at odd with your personal opinion of what a narcissist is
