Sir, I have approximately 40 pecan trees on my 10 acres. Most were doing poorly when we moved here. After cleaning and clearing around the trees, we had to do some heavy triming (nothing should touch the ground, hang low, or be left dead on the tree). Pecans are an every other year crop. But with the drought, we've had a low to no crop two years running.

One of the things people sometimes forget about pecans is they are heavy feeders. They need to be fertilized to get the good crops and of coarse the water also, they like low lands, bottom lands. Add your fertilizer at the trees drip line so the roots can pick it up.

Getting out of debt is the best thing you can do in your personal life. It's time to add a few new pecan trees. Those old ones might produce if you get them cleaned out, limed, and fertilized but getting a few new ones will be good. We just put in 40 new blackberries, new pomegranates, elderberries, and kiwi yesterday. We have tried to plant trees that have different harvest windows. This allows us to have fresh fruit throughout the summer and fall. Blueberries start in April, blackberries in May, plums and peaches in late May thru July, etc. Persimmons, muscadines, and nut trees take us into December with fresh food, all assuming that mother nature cooperates. We also got 20 new chickens in yesterday. We went with a dual purpose breed that should allow us to have eggs and meat birds that are sustainable rather than the different breeds we have had in the past. Life is great!!! Don't get too caught up in the "news". Jesus will come when He's ready. All the other stuff is just fill.

I would also have an alternate plan where you are prepared to leave with what you can carry. When the masses come because of starvation, you will not be able to stop them and you will need to leave. Hopefully it will not come to that, as it appears this worldwide push is about control - like it has always been. The few anointed will ration out what the rest of can have. We really need to band together and form communities. I wish I was closer to you (I am in OK) as I am not seeing much of this thinking here. Of course there probably are people like me but they may be like me and have not voiced their opinions socially. Time to get off the fence! Best to you and your family. J

Check Edison Motors (Canadian company) if you have a pickup truck. The are developing kits to convert to electric motors - advantage is better gas mileage (recharge batteries with on board diesel generator), no transmission, no drive shaft. Also can convert 2WD to 4WD. Batteries can be charged directly from the grid but are smaller than those required by 100% EV; great for short trips but generator kicks in for long trips when charge gets low. Downhill/regen braking. They are big on using off-the-shelf parts and owner-repairable (as opposed to custom and dealer-only repair). Their target price for kits is (roughly) 1/2 the price of a new P/U truck. Check out their website or numerous youtube videos for more details.

Though I’m like minded and am doing all I can to prepare and store up for the coming troubles ahead I’m not sure how much it will help long term. My concern is that any situation that lasts more than a few months that brings a suspension to govt or the “protection” they provide will give way to the cartel becoming organized and going from place to place taking ANYTHING of value. Living outside of the city provides some temporary relief from them but it’s only a matter of time. Yes, as a 2A card carrying Texan I have the skill, knowledge and tools to defend but at the level of force these folks have at their disposal, there isn’t much chance of victory against them. There are so many scenarios such as fall of our govt, civil war, invasion from another country and so on that leave me feeling like I’m spitting in the wind and what has been prepared for is going to be taken by others. Even so, I’m continuing to work the ground, put up what I can and learn skills that my grandparents once lived by in hopes that with God’s grace, my family can get to the other side of the storm. It’s all I can do but the reality of how bad this can get is very discouraging and seems at times like it’s a battle that can’t be won. Like Noah, keep preaching the “crazy” because your words may change someone’s heart and it does help discouraged hearts like mine keep going. It’s a battle to the end and we know the victory belongs to Jesus. Amen!

You know, when the grocery stores run out of food you won't be eating for a while. It takes at least 90 days or longer to grow plants that you can eat. And that's if you grow enough of that particular plant to take you until the next plant is ready for harvest. It's better to plan now, grow now so that when there is no food at the grocery store, you just go outside and eat from what you grew. As far as the Bible goes, it tells us study to show thyself approved unto God... Rightly dividing the word of truth. And that prophecy has no private interpretation. That means there's only one way to read it and that is how God says it is. So yes prayer and Bible study is the only way to understand. That means you have to study the Bible for yourself and not let anyone teach you. You must study prophecy.

Not really. It has a really low BTU output and has a ton of sap. I would only use it in extreme emergencies.

I have been laid off several times in my life. I know it is a difficult time. Obviously, you cannot continue to pay off debt when you don't have a job. You need to find a new source of income. I pray you will find a new job soon so that you can continue to pay off your debt.
