Why Am I Not Losing Weight on Keto? 3 Reasons You May Not be Losing Weight.
We’ve delved into some common questions on the subject of keto already in earlier videos but keto and weight loss, (or lack thereof), is a big one, and if you’re asking the question of why am I not losing weight on keto, it means you are already trying and perhaps in the thick of it, and also potentially doing something wrong. If this is you, it’s ok, we’ve all been there and it’s simply part of the learning process. So this video my dear viewers is designed to help you correct that before you fall too short and to outline 3 simple reason you are not losing weight on keto, and why.
As with many dietary and lifestyle changes, keto of course being no exception, there’s a lot of information to take in and a learning curve is an inevitability. Of course this can mean frustration along the way and there is nothing worse than undertaking a lifestyle change, be it diet or otherwise, only to see, or not see, results. I’ve found keto to be relatively simple, that’s not to say I’ve experienced my own keto curveballs, it would be quite a rare feat to not have the occasional set back and of course this is why I do what I do and why these videos are made. Sharing is caring and as a community we can all learn from each other. Weight loss in ketosis is no joke and the struggle to live a healthier and more fulfilling life is one we all face at one time or another. But do not be disheartened for these set backs can be short lived, we only need recognize where we are going off track and implement the necessary changes.
I hope this video provides some of these changes for you, education is key, and I hope you continue on your keto journey, practice patience where needed, whether for weight loss, overall physical and mental health, and simply a better you.

Big part of not loosing weight especially in women more than 40 is hormones even with Good keto and IF as progesterone get low and cortisol high, also Nuts are high in fat which is good but we can overdo and still lot calories , another aspect Nuts they are hard to digest and can cause constipation which slow down the weight, last but not least fat is good in the beginning of keto to adapt BUT when we are fat adapted we should decrease fat so we can burn our own fat

Thanks for the video, I like the recommendation for the gradual change. I had keto flu by diving in the first time. I eased in the second time, and missed the flu that time.

Thank you. I found intermittent fasting has helped me to get back on track with weight loss while on Keto. I stick with not because of the weight loss but for what it is doing for the way I feel, decreased inflammation, and brain power.

I realized I'm on 3 different medications that cause weight gain. No wonder I'm not losing any weight! Strict Keto for 2 months, and not a budge on the scale. Tapering off those meds to see if that helps!

Only took 1 48 hour fast to get me into ketosis. Some people will be different but I'm pretty sure it wont take weeks. Been doing keto since Nov 8 2020 and lost almost 90 lbs. The last 10 lbs are by far the hardest!

Similar problem with the nuts. But I think mainly I just ate too many. My body can go days without food but after a meal it can't get enough.

I’ve only lost about 8 lbs on keto over 2 months, it’s been super discouraging. I don’t know what I can do anymore.

I have been struggling with the keto diet for a couple of months. Lost about 5 pounds in water weight then ate bacon and some cheese and retained/gained it all back. The healthy clean keto is increasingly limiting. How much salad, good oils, eggs and avocado can one eat and is it sustainable? Also all these veggies make me super bloated for days and that’s not a fun feeling because it feels like they are doing the opposite to what they should be doing however there is nothing else to fill up on due to all the food limitations. I feel like it is mentally exhausting and there has to be some happy medium that is not overly high in carbs yet provides you with balanced wholesome choices in food. Oh and all of the keto recipe books are basically taking the same 10 ingredients and changing them up in different combinations. Not wasting my $ on that anymore.

The longer you spend on keto - clean keto - the more your tastebuds and cravings will change. Bloating is a sign to stop eating that food, a lot of vegetables have defenses to prevent things from eating it, which show up as digestive problems.

Also nobody talks about vegetables since alot of people don't like veggies like spinach etc. They don't eat them. I eat lots of veggies and fats and proteins.

Hey Naomi, Thanks for all your time spent helping everyone. I have a question, when I wake up in the morning at around 8:30 my first thing is a drink with organic clear fibre (certified organic gum Acacia ) at that time I am still in IF. Am I breaking my fast by drinking this fibre??

anything where ur stomach has to digest means its stopping ur fast water and electrolytes dont need digesting thats why it doesnt break ur fast

I've been on keto for 2 weeks today and have only lost 5lbs. I've done everything right and have been in nutritional ketosis since starting (with the keto mojo meter)I look like I've lost weight but the dang number on the scale will not budge for dayyyyysssss. I'm at a higher weight also so I'd expect to have lost more.. and I don't snack and I'm watching my calories. I feel like Keto just doesn't work for me like it does with everyone else I've known. :( there's just nothing I've done wrong and I've researched so much as to why someone can't lose weight on this lifestyle/diet.

i started my Keto diet 3 weeks ago, in the 1st 10 days i lost around 6kg BUT for the past 11 days NOTHING! I am constantly hungry i can't sleep and i feel like Sh&%£t

I've been doing keto and IF for about a year and a half now...initially lost about 10 pounds and felt great. Last year though, I gained almost 25 pounds over the course of about six months, and nothing I do seems to touch it. I tried carnivore, I tried upping carbs and calories (thinking perhaps I was undereating), I tried decreasing calories, I'm currently exercising regularly... and have NO other symptoms other than this weight, so don't think it's an issue like hypothyroidism or anything like that. I am hungry more than I think I should be, and it's frustrating to feel like I can't eat as much as I want to because it'll prevent any progress with weight loss. Any insights?? (I'm 24 years old; keeping with keto, not cheating or eating too many carbs or sugars...). Will take any suggestions. Thanks! :)

How you do feel about exogenous ketones? I have MS and feel like I have trouble getting into ketosis, and then staying there. 🤦🏻‍♀️

In general, the recommendation especially when starting keto for the first time or if you don't fully grasp keto just yet then taking oral/exogenous ketones could hinder you in the process of learning how keto and ketones affects your body. But, some do recommend this type of supplement to help the body get into ketosis, so if considering it you want to make sure you consider the source of the exogenous ketones you are considering taking. ~ Naomi's Coaching Team

dr sinclair says that resveratrol should be white. your brand glow 15 and reservage both arent white lol is it supposed to be like this but when i think of it grapes are red so idk

You eat more. You may try to overshoot greatly your daily caloric intake and see whether you manage to gain weight after say 1 month.

I was underweight too and since I started keto I dont know if it has slowed my thyroid down a bit or what but I've actually gained a few pounds and have some curves now. P.S. I'm in love with no salt no sugar Barney butter yummy!

Thank you for this video. Today marks my third week on keto and I’ve only lost one pound(in the first week) I’m very frustrated because I want to lose at least 30lbs. But this made me feel a bit better. I’ll keep going and hope for the best.

I totally understand your frustration! It’s been 6 weeks for me and I lost 5 pounds in the first 2 weeks, then nothing (0 zero) the next two weeks and 4 pounds the 5th week and nothing in the 6th week. Im trying to loose 45-50pounds. I’m telling you what I’ve been telling myself. STICK WITH IT! Dr. Berg is also a great resource on KZbin. Also go by how you feel.

I am with you! I also want to lose about 30 lbs. I have been strict keto for about 3 weeks too and only lost about a pound depending on when I weigh myself I have not lost any weight. Its hard when you see other people saying 10lbs down in one week! or 20 lbs lost in 3 weeks! In the past I tried keto and quit after a month because no results. I know this time I need to stick with it to see long term results. I am also going to continue eating this way probably forever because of all the other health benefits that have already improved for me. Also diabetes runs in my family so that alone is enough to make me serious about this lifestyle.

@@meganhughes723 yesss. Keep at it!! I quit after about 5 months (no results) however my psoriasis improved dramatically!!! so I slowly started to “quit” keto but kept low carb, sugars, whites (flour, sugar, bread and potatoes etc), gluten out of my diet. And my psoriasis has stayed calm which is great. Good luck with your new lifestyle. Stay healthy!!☺️

Carb creep is real, 3-large eggs =2 carbs for instance and a lot of products say 0 carbs but there not . And then there’s the hole carbs verses net carbs.🤓

I’m on week 4 and I haven’t lost anything for two weeks. I use carb manager and I’m basically eating carnivore. I have over 100 lbs to lose and per my keto blood meter I’m in nutritional ketosis. I’m discouraged because I have absolutely not cheated. My clothes fit better though?

I have a similar issue. I have been doing keto and IF for 4 months. I only weigh myself twice a month and have gone an entire month without losing any weight on the scale. However, on the days I weigh in, I also take 6 measurements on various parts of my body and have lost inches almost every time I measure. If you are only going by the scale, you are going to set yourself up for disappointment. Take measurements and take photos and you will see the progress even if your scale doesn't show it.

I have been on keto for 4 months I stopped keto two months ago but I started back up 4 weeks ago and I lost 10 lbs the first week and for three weeks I haven’t lost weight and I am so discouraged I feel huge and I am also working out more than ever and I’m doing everything right my keto meter says I’m in ketosis I just don’t know what’s happening

I'm having the same issue 😕 I've been doing Keto for a month I've eat under 1200 calories and I workout at least 4 days a week. I haven't lost a pound in 2 weeks and I'm discouraged and ready to stop.

@@daise19 okay so 1 week later i started losing weight again for me it was eating to much "junk" I was eating a lot of chews and starwberries along with alot of the slimfast snack I stopped eating them completly and now i lose a pound every other day

14 weeks on strict keto. logging my macros on a keto app. 3 LB GAIN good moderate exercise--daily IF 16 HRS--super healthy food choices--good sleep-- avoiding food intolerances--only good fats--moderate protein. 4oz wine per day but for 2 weeks none as a tweak. weigh once weekly. not hungry--occasionally my urine stick shows a trace of ketones only. not diabetic. I will continue because a low insulin diet will be best for me I feel.

I've done keto for 2weeks and i only lost 18lbs.. Am i really doing good? Do I really need to eat more fats? I need to loose about 60 more lbs. Im not eating a whole bunch of fats because i have alot?? Am I doing it right? Is cucumber and tomatoes good on keto?

You are doing great trust me, If you lost 18lbs the first two weeks that means it is working! It was like that for me too in the beggining and now I have lost over 190 Lbs!!! You might not actually be in ketosis, the initial weight you loose is water weight! I have both tomatoes and cucumbers on keto but be VERY carefull of the quantity! LOG IN EVERYTHING!!!
