Just to clarify one point in one of the posts. Sun Yang was not caught doping. He was banned for 4 years for destroying a package containing a urine sample. He had just returned from a competition at which he was tested 12 times all with negative results. He was subject to a surprise test at home with one hour notice. He had the option to decline 2 tests but did not decline the test. The tester refused to show his credentials and behaved strangely while watching Sun Yang provide the sample. Sun Yang destroyed the packaging of the sample rendering it useless for testing, but the actual vial was still intact. He was tested again soon after with negative results. The tester was found to not be accredited and worked as a construction worker. At his court hearing, his statements were mistranslated for the judges and he was sentenced to an 8 year ban. He appealed the judgement and one of the judges was found to have made racist twitter posts about Chinese people. His ban was downgraded to 4 years.

@@user-ir8ew Athletes are allowed to skip 2 tests per year. Sun Yang skipped 0 tests in the 12 month period prior to this incident and so would have been allowed to skip this test. He chose not to because he had just completed a competition and was scheduled for go on vacation. This was a low stakes test for him except for the unprofessional behavior of the testers who were taking photos and video of him drawing blood and providing urine. They refused to show ID and refused to call another team when asked.

Pan zhan le even say in his interview that the world record is not even his fastest swim record by miles. It was used as a smoke bomb to confuse others thinking that it is his limit. The reason why China is improving, it is because they practice more than others. Just look at the divers team, those that didn't qualify for Olympic are as good as the winner. Also better system to support athlete and better technology.

The ONLY ONE doping incident of the Chinese athlete team's doping was due to the food served at the restaurant they all had to eat at, and it was clarified by WADA... not out of any individual intention to medically enhance Game results. This piece of info completes the doping history to date of Chinese athletes. BTW, kids in Northeast China may be VERY tall but may not be athletes. 🙂

社會在進步，先進的運動器材，運動方式也在不斷的進步。以前中國運動不強是因為窮，因為落後。。現在中國崛起有錢了，很多事情都慢慢的在趕超歐美。如果歐美國家還在自我感覺良好，那就等著被超越吧。我經常看很多歐美的街訪，我發現大多數的歐美人，都對歐美以外的國家一知半解。在網絡那麼發達的年代，他們的無知讓我感到很驚訝！！無意冒犯，只是個人心中想法。
