it looks like making friends comes easily for you. watching your videos gives us a view of your large circle of friends and many many fun times you have together. you could make more videos giving insight on how to make new friends and keep existing ones. This is particularly a problem when you move, or your circle shrinks over time.

In the beginning, hearing you guys talk about how you make friends in a new city. I’ve moved to my current city but it’s so hard for me to make friends. I think it’s because I am afraid of meeting new people. I’ve attended some events but I am so socially awkward and shy that I just close myself off. And I do get peoples Instagram and we talk online but it’s hard to move that in person cuz I’m scared I can’t continue a conversation irl.

Haha I do a combo of June and Esther, like I'll mirror people's energy and especially if they hug loosely or tightly, but if someone is more shy than me maybe I'll fill in the gaps and talk more or if they are talking a lot, I'll settle into the listening role sometimes

not you holding the microphone during the sponsorship portion 🤣 too cute! This episode is great, deff confronted and encouraged me. Making friends as an adult is not easy but it sure is rewarding. There is so much success, advice and evolving times to share with others that as a younger person you could never experience.

And to be honest, the woman on the left with the black clothes is the kind of "friend" you need to avoid. When she talks about "gossip" is a good thing and laugh about it, you know that is the biggest red flag ever. Treat people with RESPECT and don't gossip in general, no matter if the person is a friend or not. Like, do not gossip about a person you do not even know closely. LIKE WTF IS THIS BEHAVIOR??
@estherys
@estherys 10 ай бұрын
hi again! hahah ok i agree with you that people who love to gossip can be a big friendship red flag - but i don’t think that’s what michelle meant! her comment was more in the sense that people gossip and when they do, she thinks it can be helpful in learning about who they are as a friend by what they say. for example, if a friend is saying “i can’t believe they did that” about an action, then that says something about their values. i don’t think she was saying gossip = good or encouraging gossip (ofc in a perfect world we wouldn’t gossip at all) but more so, people will gossip, and when they do, she’s saying it can sometimes be helpful for her when gauging what the other person values in friendships

Hi. I think she mentioned another time while answering a Q&A that she would touch more on the subject in a podcast. She’s only answering what they ask and they ask this often. Maybe because she seems to have great, genuine friendships; very refreshing to see in such a superficial world. 😊
@estherys
@estherys 10 ай бұрын
thanks for your suggestion! still trying to find the balance between creating content that i want vs what people ask for. but i think since friendships is such a broad topic, it doesn't hurt to do multiple episodes on this! there was so much that we didn't get to because of time 😅

5:00 : Matching energy is really something that is really fake and you cannot keep ongterm friendships if you always act in a way people around you want to see you. Think about political views: So you are a democrat on mondays, but a Republican on tuesday? Not good
@estherys
@estherys 10 ай бұрын
yeah i agree with you that your values and beliefs shouldn’t change! what we meant by matching energy was just in terms of introvertedness vs extrovertedness 🤓
@torandbuch3028
@torandbuch3028 10 ай бұрын
@@estherys I know, but I think, that even matching " introvertedness vs extrovertedness" is not something that leads to long tearm friendships. Because introvertedness and extrovertedness are beasic beliefs, basic lifestyles and basic values . :)
@estherys
@estherys 10 ай бұрын
hmm i see what you mean! like you think people should stay true to who they really are no matter who they’re with. i think i just get more in my head when i meet new people and try to make them feel comfortable depending on the energy im sensing. not saying one way is better than the other! but once i reach a level a comfort and trust with someone, im def more like you
