Good story and good use of a common bug killing agent. Diatomaceous earth is a great bug killer and definitely not toxic. The tiny, dust sized particles are sharp edged shards. They cut into every vulnerable part of a bug's body, causing the bugs to bleed out. They will also do this to a human's lungs, so a filtered mask is best when it's necessary to be around the stuff. But, there is no poison of any kind involved, just millions of tiny sharp edges. Unfortunately, if a lot is used, it's hard to clean up the stuff afterward. Like dust or sand, it gets everywhere. And remember, don't eat our kids!

It's never a war crime the first time. That's why we have so many rules concerning war and why we are so vicious in punishing those that break those rules.

What might put us aside is that we are pack animals but also predators.

Punishment should not fit the crime it should be so serious as to deter other from committing a similar crime. In other words - walk softly and carry a big stick.

Diatomaceous earth, how about that for non-toxic battle.
