Here is something I noticed. Why are villagers behaving differently when you visit other people's islands. Like I went to my friend she had Judy and its not the same one I have on my island. So I am asking myself "Are the villagers clones?" because its strange after a villager moves out at some point you can see the same villager appear on the Nook Mile Island and when you talk to them they act like they don't know your or remember who you are. So this made me think that there could be someone out there making robots of these villagers whenever one of them leaves someone's island or if someone spots them on a nook mile island. Maybe I am thinking too deep into this but it was a taught I had for a while now.

In New Leaf, villagers from your town recognize you in other people's towns and in dream towns. When a villager moves out of your NL town but then you move them back in via amiibo, they don't remember you but say something feels familiar or they're having slight deja vu. The villagers not recognizing you in New Horizons when you talk to them on a different island is probably just a development oversight. Wouldn't be the only one.

Theorizing is fun but in the end these are just instances where gameplay takes priority and has no implications towards the lore. Also as fun as it sounds the setting is not post apocalyptic xd

We should talk about how Villages can become aware. I just had a full “conversation” with Simon about it. He says, “Doesn’t the fruit grow fast. It’s it odd that there’s music everywhere.” Ahahah I love it.

What if all the villagers are animatronics? This would explain why there are multiple of each, and how they can look like food etc. Also why they only have so much dialogue. The city from new leaf, island from new horizons etc. are simulated real life for kids "the player" to get prepared for real life. That's why some stuff is so easy like how flying to Harv's island and friends is free and debt is easy, it's all babied down.
