So I've watched quite a few episodes of this show now (super addictive btw!) And I have 2 questions. 1) do they really just call it quits after like 8-9 hours of work everyday? 2) do they truly only spend 3 days at these sites? Hell I get excited bout some of the stuff they've found, I'd have one hell of a time walking away after just 3 days if I was at one of these digs. They gotta keep going after they finish filming for the show right?

Most of the crew had to go back on Monday to their academic obligations. There was only one episode where they had a skeleton crew go on for a fourth day, to excavate a possibly important skeleton. But yes, they only worked for three days.

@@sward0483 I think of these as initial investigations, to establish if important archaeology is on the site. If it is, they can give it scheduled status, and more work will be done on a later date. There are a few episodes where they found nothing at all, and even that is important to know.

Time team needs to come to America and dig some of these mounds and stuff here. We always just assume the native americans who came over the land bridge when it existed, were the first to be here. There have been some finds here that clearly predate anything we know about the Indians, but for some reason we never seem to explore it. We'll maybe they do and just haven't told us lol

14:22 this part made me curious: they mention that the bones found were of someone over 18 because their wisdom teeth were fully erupted. Mine were out and erupted by age 13, and I finished growing (at least in height) by that time as well. I wonder if there is ever any misidentification in age of skeletons /remains due to an unaccounted development of the human body quicker or slower than is the norm? Either way, I love the Time Team and now knowledgeable everyone seems to be in their professions.

Misidentification of the age and gender of skeletons is definitely common. It’s probably wrong the majority of the time, honestly.

Regardless of what they said normally many skeleton characteristics are evaluated, certainly not just the wisdom teeth which vary wildly. The worst example I know is if an aunt who got them in her 70s... sex can perfectly be identified by DNA, and I think there is some new technique for age with radioisotope ratios if it is worth, but I don't quite remember for sure.

Holding the camera on and explaining the artifacts found, would be much more interesting than listening to Tony blathering on about these subjects, that he knows nothing and cares even less about. Not to mention his often condescending attitude towards the professionals, that the producers of this show, have gathered around him. It's obvious to me, that all he cares about is his TV ratings. That's why I quickly pass over any "Time Team" videos that I come across in any media.
