I went to an interview recently and didn't get the job. I studied hard and went in prepared but something is nagging at me, when a Hotel hires an employee do they take the 'look' of the potential into consideration. I noticed that I was older than most of the potentials that I saw that day-Im 40- at an an open house. I have the experience but now I wonder.

It was a very nice video, but frankly, I felt like something is missing. The good sample you gave was nice but needs a lot of elaboration to reach what the recruiters want and contains many repetitions. On the other hand, it would have been highly appreciated if you have explained more about the company culture and what it actually means, as values, ethics, goals, missions, work environment, and people. Candidates who are new to these issues will highly appreciate these clarifications to be sure of what to say. Thanks a lot for this great video

can someone help me. I am 15 and trying to get my first job. and while I am applying it asks what are your intressest. it's just a minimum wage job why do they care so much about what you say. I just need a job so I can have work experience and get money like every other kid but how can I say this in a way that I will get the job.

Think about getting a job like setting up a lemonade stand. Just because you stood by the sidewalk doesn't mean you get customers. You have to display your lemonade before you can get any buyers. Recruiters need to see what you are selling, what are you offering them so they can buy it? Unlike the lemonade where they can clearly see what you are selling, a recruiter can't see what you are selling. You are selling them your talent and skills and this is what they want to hear. You have to explain it, paint them a picture in their mind what it would be like once you started working for them. And the best way to do this is by figuring out what kind of job you want. And then finding out what skills and attributes they are looking for in this position. Once you did connect this with yourself. This is why the recruiter is asking for your interest. They want to know if you have what they are looking for. For example applying for a "people greeter". You'd answer "I have always been interested about the position of people greeter. I am cheerful and friendly. And I am confident that I'd be great addition to your team." This is just a rough answer. But you get the gist of it. You are selling your talent of being friendly. Minimum wage or not you are still taking their money. And no one wants to give away their money for nothing.

this is crap. I watched these vids out of curiousity. I had several first round interviews in the past years with these questions and more, all success, but after watching this I started stressing and overthinking and fucking up my upcoming interview. I felt my answers were too fabricated not genuine. Guys don't do this crap just say what you actually want. I am sure the HR people aren't looking for youtube answers in a fabricated oversugary perfectly way. It cost me one interview... never again. Next time just genuine answers even if they aren't the most perfect.
