What people forget about “the bar being raised” is that the elite clubs have a better hand to play than ever before. As an Arsenal fan, I’ll be disappointed if we don’t win the league, but still extremely proud of the boys and the whole club. Made huge progress year after year, and I have no doubt Arteta will win a title eventually with us. Our best ever season, our second highest points tally if we win against Everton, but City are a league (or 115 leagues) above. Liverpool had it even worse, with their 92 and 97 point seasons where they finished second. Unreal

People are missing the point, Pep is the probably the greatest manager of all time, and this city team is one of the best of all time if not the best, but it IS because they were allowed to bend the rules to get here, which is why Liverpool should of won more titles and now Arsenal should. It isn't Man city's fault. The blame has to be laid firmly at the leagues door. They fail to punish city for their rules violations and have literally pulled up the ladder for every other club. The league desperately needs to address this. Either they need to punish city for their rules violations, or abolish any form of ffp. That way, clubs can try to emulate the likes of City and Chelsea.

Man City are categorically not worse in the PL this season. Every season Pep usually takes 6pts from Arsenal; this season it was just 1pt. Add those missing 5pts to their potential finishing tally and they're on 96pts - 4 off Centurions. They're undefeated in the PL for over 5 months.

Im not an Arsenal fan but I do agree that many teams do not make the same level of effort against City as they do against other teams City always seem to get a sneaky, sloppy goal or someone fucks up or doesn't mark their man. Compared to them - when these teams play Liverpool, United, Arsenal or Chelsea - some of the players from clubs like Burnley or Fulham run so hard and fast for nothing 50/50 balls, i'm suprised their legs don't explode and their kidneys fail after the match - against City they just go "herberder" through the game and walk around
