ive played this game quite a lot as i really like about the spectator in the middle of the road as they really makes up of the history of the group b rally that i used to watch a lot of clip of it, not to mention the simple sense of humour in each car, overall it was a good relaxing game to play after stresful day of work/school

5 years of playing this game, it's still one of my all-time favorites. I'll add in a few more things into this video as a whole: - From Kacey's video, she mentioned how the devs really care for the game, as they will start working on the reported bugs as soon as possible. In this case, less than a day, if I remember it right. - The dev added livery mod support since the polacolor update, which means you can put a classic rally livery, or make one up by your own. (I'm working on my 3rd itasha livery as I am typing this) - There's a free roam mode where you can not only get to unlock more musics and free-roam maps, but also Funselektor's truck (The truck Dune drove and slept on during the game development process). - The cars' descriptions vividly ressembled the real-life counterpart, with some of which being told like an urban legend. Which make sense for Group S cars which most of the lineup never got to even touch the gravel once, or more obscure ones like the A110's direct successor A130, or the Pebble. Or the Audi Quattro Group S Prototype that was only recently being officially recognized by the company. - The sound and environmental design not mentioned here is criminal. Brake screeching, crowd cheering noises, gearbox shifting. Simple, but adds to the experience. - Various control settings are available to fine-tune the driving experience. Controller, keyboard, even wheels, your choice. And indeed, a lovely video for art of rally, I appreciate the work. And good luck with your game!

Thank you so much for such a detailed and thoughtful comment, it really means a lot! 🙏 There are definitely so many things I couldn’t cover in the video, partly due to my inexperience, but also because Art of Rally has so much depth. I completely missed out on the sound design too, but you’re absolutely right, those little details like brake screeches and crowd cheers really do enhance the experience. And honestly, I didn’t do justice to the realistic driving mechanics either, even though I talked a lot about the minimalist graphics. I wish I had touched on that more, so thank you for bringing it up. I love hearing about your livery mods too; it’s great that the community can get so creative with it. And lastly, thank you for the kind words about our game! Your support means the world.

I'm thinking about buying this game (I've already played it through GamePass and even after it left GamePass I didn't uninstall it even though I didn't have the game), the game seems to have a lot of cars and variability, unfortunately the price of the game on Xbox right now is a little too expensive for me (I hope it goes on sale in the next few days 😁)

The game definitely offers a lot of variety with its different cars and stages, and it’s a real gem for rally fans. I hear you about the price on Xbox. Hopefully, a sale comes up soon so you can grab it at a better price! Steam definitely offers a much better deal, and I was able to get it there for the same reason.

3:00 In GTA1 there were a row of 5 buddhist monks walking along the street which you had to mow down i think. My memory is slowly fading. I like that Art of Rally has moving spectators to add some mental engagement. If you could "accidentally" mow them down when you mess up a turn, the immersion would be increased. I like the simple graphics but ive put off buying this game due to xbox price and i cant buy a cd version. Id pay £4.99 in a heartbeat, thats what my wallet thinks its worth. These top down driving games are best when you see more of the track of course. The 80s top down arcade games didnt give you much more than 1 or 2 corners to see ahead. Playstation era games gave you multiplayer option. 4 player top down racing is alot of fun. GTA1 the screen zoomed out, the faster you went, which was a step change. The Art of Rally doesnt need an on screen map because the height and angle and swaying camera angles means youre always seeing ahead with enough time to react and not relly on memorising the track which is more fun. I hope its loading times are a few seconds at most. Ido want to play this game at some point but ive got like 20 driving games on the xbox 360 i still havent played. Why? Because im still stuck on playing Race Driver: Grid. This game has much for me. Its the first game i played with a drift mode and i love it. Drifting has become more fun than circuit racing or rallying for me. I thank the japanese. Every gamers journey is different. What is common, is that we are gamers. Love brother. Great video xxx
@moonflakestudio19 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! The moving spectators in Art of Rally definitely add that extra layer of immersion, making you feel more engaged with the environment, just like you mentioned. While it doesn't allow for "accidents" like in older games, it still manages to capture that chaotic charm. Regarding the price, I totally get you. The Xbox version does tend to feel a bit steep, especially compared to other platforms. Also, I love that you've had such a strong connection with games like Race Driver: Grid. It’s true, every gamer’s journey is different, but as you said, we all share that love for gaming. Really appreciate your kind words about the video!

i really wish they had a cockpit camera option in this game.
@moonflakestudio9 күн бұрын
A cockpit camera would indeed be a great addition to Art of Rally, bringing the immersion of the game even closer to classic rally experiences. While the current camera setup is designed to capture the visual charm and unique perspective of rally driving, a cockpit view could provide a fresh, thrilling layer to the gameplay.

I always wondered what’s the plot after the rally driver miss a turn 💀 (knowing there is a huge crowd)
@moonflakestudioАй бұрын
There have indeed been tragic incidents in Group B rallying where drivers crashed into crowds, with fatal consequences. One of the most infamous accidents occurred in the 1986 Portuguese Rally, where a Ford RS200 lost control and plowed into the crowd, killing three spectators and injuring many others.

I play rally games a lot, but I can't quite get the handling of Art of Rally, always feels a bit weird
@moonflakestudioАй бұрын
I totally get what you mean! The handling in Art of Rally can feel quite odd at first and might seem disconnected from reality. But once you get the hang of it, you'll notice it's actually pretty realistic in how it captures the difficulty of controlling these old rally cars. The developer probably intended it to be this way to emphasize just how tough these machines were to drive, adding an extra layer of challenge and immersion to the experience. Stick with it, and it’ll start to feel a lot more intuitive!
@Miester7Ай бұрын
I think its alot to do with the 'counter steer' setting. You have to change it for each car as it behaves differently causing inconsistent handling physics. You have to choose the right car that suits your driving style!
@arekkubiak5957Ай бұрын
@@Miester7 Hm I might try that thanks
@el_pochoclo5 күн бұрын
I think the fact that contributes to the strange handling is the presence of some kind of "delay" between your controller(or keyboard) and the response of the car. Maybe is a personal sensation but when i play other games the response is instantly, but here is different

I had one big issue with this game: the driving itself feels terrible. I don't know if it's because of the camera or what but it felt so disconnected and numb.

I had to play around with turning, braking, and counter steering settings to keep the cars under control. Was really difficult at first.
@moonflakestudio19 күн бұрын
I totally get what you mean! At first, I felt the same, like I wasn't fully in control. But I found that tweaking the countersteer setting in the options really helped. You can adjust the intensity to match your preference, and it makes a world of difference in how responsive the driving feels. Give it a try and see if that makes the experience smoother for you!
