I tell young people that they know nothing about life until they reach age 50 and then they start to get wise. As a 77-year-old Canadian living in the Philippines I continue to marvel at the respect I receive from people of all ages from age 5 to 65. They bend over backwards to assist me everywhere I go. The teenagers and younger kids bless me every day when they see me. That never happens in Canada. I was recently standing on a street waiting for a man to arrive who was going to sell me some Racing Pigeons, and a lady I did not know from the man in the moon came out of her house which was 100 feet away. She brought me a stool to sit on because she was worried about me having to stand. Amazing thoughtfulness.

@@acornsucks2111 Actually, I live in an upper middle-class area with no other foreigners. The Filipinos in my area have beautiful homes, one or two expensive new cars, and the women dress in brand name clothes and carry luxury brand handbags. One lady just bought another handbag costing over 100,000 pesos. Ninety percent of my neighbors have more wealth than me, and some own great businesses and investment properties. They do not see me as a dollar sign and your comment tells me you do not live in the Philippines or if you do, you know very little about the country or the people.

74yrs. All these years with ups and downs, I still remember high school classmates that never made it back from Vietnam. Sometimes, as miserable as some periods in my life had been, I wish they still had a chance to experience those things too, come out of it and still be alive. It puts even the downer times into perspective. We may be "old," but luckily so! Push On!

You guys are the go-to guys when young guys are interested in the forgotten trades. I love rat rods, and a guy your age could teach me how to do lead filling on bodywork. Last year i chanced upon a garage sale that was being packed up. I found an ancient British dremel in a box and only had five bucks cash in my wallet. The owner sold it to me. Turns out it belonged to one of the crown jewellers of the British royal family and was gifted to the current owner who made jewellery. I need a guy your age to teach me engraving or stone setting. I don't have the nerves for cleaving, but a guy who does could teach me ultimate timing and precision in everything i do. I worry that guys your age who are not in your position think they are no use to the world anymore. That couldn't be further from the truth.

A good video, but my particular situation means a few of those hurt me to think about - the financial stability ones... I lost everything in a a natural disaster and through various other circumstances of work and others taking advantage, I am at a point where I have to keep working ad hope one day to own a little home... and have a few dollars put aside... until then, I need to use other life experiences and a few digital ones I have tried to pick up to get some money together - then I will have that peace of mind you mention...

For me, being older and wiser I see the greatest advantage is that so many young beautiful Filipina’s see that FAT WALLET in my pocket and they don’t care what I look like…..they see opportunity! only advantage I see to being old is -- you've made all the major life decisions younger people still face ie. what career to enter, who to marry or if you should marry, having kids, where to live, handling money, building retirement, you're done with all that -- now if you did it right you can enjoy leisure outside the rat race maybe move overseas

I always defer to individuals that have specific expertise in areas. If they are just an idiot savant like me, I will follow my own direction. Led Zeppelin for $7.50, those were the days. The fads rotating is no joke. A few years ago I was able to break out my old stuff and be in style again. I find that general knowledge is the real gift we can give our family, not so much the technical expertise.

@robertpiekarski61152 ай бұрын
Here is something to pay attention to in your 50s, 60s, 70s about the sex thing you mentioned… if you find yourself taking little blue pills and it’s just not doing it for you, you need to check your arteries, along with kidneys and liver. These all play a role in the cause of ED and could be an early (maybe not so early) warning sign of a possible heart attack or stroke around the corner Also too much sugar in your diet and weight around the belly (belly fat) figure into all this. So get these things checked and find out about healthy ways of getting them corrected before time runs out… literally. Also, a doctor who does not specialize in aging or preventative health or diet, may not have all the answers. They may just give you more little blue pills so you can keel over on top of your girlfriend or wife. Not a pretty picture! 😢
