Putin is using Russian, Iranian and North Korean missiles on Ukrainian territory without any constrains, yet he somehow demands Ukraine to not use its missiles on Russian territory and demands the West not to allow Ukraine to use Western missilies there. It is sick logic and it is such a sad state of the word that Western leaders are letting themselves to be drag into this logic to. Ukraine should have been allowed to use any weapons to attack any Russian military target from day one (2022, or even 2014 when the Russian invasion actually started).

The Pentagon cannot confirm the alleged participation of the DPRK military in the fighting in the Kursk region, Deputy Pentagon spokesman Sabrina Singh said at a briefing. "As for the fighting, we know that they have reportedly started participating in the fighting. We have not independently confirmed this, but with that said, they are moving to Kursk for some reason. Everyone here claiming it Russia is silly to be upset of a foreign power interfering in a war that in real terms has nothing to do with them. I have never understood in real terms why the US got involved or cared about Ukraine in the first place. Strategically to everything else, it has to be at the bottom of US strategic interest and/or needs. Middle East I get and Asia I get, but Ukraine? The only reason they care now is because they (foolishly) attatched there reputation to protecting it. And failing this would hurt the ego. If the US just didnt care at the start of this invasion, or didnt inject there regime change foreign policiy over last 20 years there, this all wouldnt have happened or would be over. If I get the answer "to help Europe", that also no longer makes sense. Since 1991 Europe (mostly EU) has told the US they are clearly a competitor who needs to be challenged and have any desires of their ignored or laughed at. Now Europe needs the US, they come crawling back in some manner, but still unable to relinquish their pride. The average American doesnt understand the US involvement. Most dont. And helping Ukraine for "International law reasons" whilst also helping Israel break it with gusto, says everything about it not being moral.
@HalfBound-c9x
@HalfBound-c9x 29 күн бұрын
I get where you're coming from, but saying Ukraine has “nothing to do with” U.S. interests misses the bigger picture. Ukraine is a key part of Europe, and if Russia takes control, it sends a dangerous message that authoritarian regimes can just invade their neighbors without consequences. This isn’t just about Ukraine; it’s about the global order the U.S. helped create after WWII. If Russia gets away with this, it would embolden other autocrats around the world, and that’s a problem for U.S. security too. As for Europe, yeah, it’s true that many EU countries are more independent now, but Russia’s aggression still threatens European stability. NATO’s been a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy, and Europe’s security is still tied to it. It’s not about reputation or ego; it’s about stopping further Russian expansion and keeping Europe stable. If the U.S. just sat back and did nothing, it would be a disaster, not just for Ukraine but for the entire international system. I know U.S. foreign policy has its flaws, but this isn’t about being "morally perfect." It's about defending sovereignty and international law. Letting Russia get away with this would be a huge mistake, and it would set a dangerous precedent for the future. So, while the situation’s complicated, the U.S. has good reasons to be involved in Ukraine, and walking away would only make things worse in the long run.

I would say maybe. Perhaps this encourages it by showing that we still have teeth. Or it is to ruin Trump's attempt to end this quickly. Either way, Ukraine knows it's on borrowed time. Trump got elected by a populace largely sick of funding foreign wars.

Listen to my words - the situation is at a tipping point: Russia eyes an attack on the Baltic states to test NATO, while North Korea preps a surprise strike on South Korea. At the same time, China ramps up military exercises near Taiwan, hinting at a possible invasion. With Trump in office, the U.S. might avoid direct involvement, potentially emboldening these aggressors. NATO faces internal division, weakening its response. A coordinated assault by Russia, China, and North Korea could quickly escalate into a regional or global conflict, disrupting the world economy and reshaping international power dynamics.

You’re so right, the hawkish comments are so surprising to me. Do people not realized where this tit for tat escalation leads? It leads to the potential use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine and potentially WW3. I really hope Ukraine wins the war. They are the innocent, Russia the aggressors, but escalation is good for no one. Peace, and negotiations are what needed.

@@timogul It's obviously dangerous because of Bidens refusal for the last 3 years. It's not about how you see it, it's how the Russians see it that matters. Came later than I'd hope, but THIS is the sort of thing you do when you're a lame-duck president with no reason to give a damn about political repercussions. And, better yet, he forces Trump to explicitly reverse this policy if he wants to protect Russia, which is always harder to justify than a continuation of existing policy - that way, Trump can't just pretend he's trying not to escalate, he's going to have to show his hand as a Russian puppet.
