White supremacy is global. And ironically, white people are not even the only ones who are white supremacists. That hateful mentality has taken root in the minds of a great many melanated people too, and Indians are a perfect example. In their country they literally categorize dark-skinned people as "untouchable". It's sad how thoroughly colonized their minds have been

I didn't know about "blancamiento". I heard about "mejorar la raza", which means improve the race, which meant in the Hispanic community, get as close to white as you can. That is why many of them would prefer to marry/date a Chad/Becky over Tyrone/Shaniqua even if Tyrone/Shaniqua are economically doing better. Being friends with blacks can get you dealt with in the Hispanic community, let alone choosing to mate with one. The anti-blackness is deep.

i was born in mexico and left at 24 because it started getting to 'cartel'ish' lol but i never heard of this blancamiento either, i know when we say 'viva la raza' it means long live mexico and is usually said by mexican-americans, we only say it in soccer games when we are going against non-mexicans, nothing to do with whiteness, and just like asians we usually marry within our mexican community, but we do not say 'do not marry non-mexicans', just like asians we just choose to marry someone that closely reflects our community, i know in america people like to mix 'race's or ethnicitys as a fetish or just because they say they dont see color but we dont do that, alot of the stuff this guy in the video is saying is not accurate, sounds like liberal propaganda information that might be taught in college, while not everything he said is inaccurate, i would say that in mexico we didnt really talk about 'color's of human beings until i got to united states which i must say is obsessed with 'race' or color, and i dont mean this in any disrespect to anybody, just from my personal experience and my parents and siblings we did not go through that, and i know my personal experience might not reflect the generality but id say most of the claims are not practiced by the generality, maybe chicanos (mexican-americans) do that but i would say their view is slightly distorted from us mexicans from mexico

Hey there! I wanted to share some thoughts on your video about Black and Brown Unity being a myth. As someone who was born and raised in Mexico and lived there until I was 24, I couldn't help but notice a few inaccuracies and oversimplifications in your discussion. First off, suggesting that "many Latinos hold anti-Black sentiments" and aspire to whiteness doesn't quite capture the complexity of attitudes towards race within Latino communities. In Mexico, for instance, our rallying cry "Viva la Raza" doesn't have anything to do with aspiring to European traits but rather celebrates Mexican identity and culture. The notion of "Blanqueamiento" is indeed present in some Latin American societies, but it's not a universally accepted ideology. Moreover, painting internalized racism as a prevalent issue among both Black and non-Black individuals lacks empirical evidence and fails to acknowledge the diversity of experiences within our communities. Your portrayal of "La Raza" as promoting European traits oversimplifies our rich cultural tapestry and ignores the resilience of indigenous and Afro-Latino identities. It's crucial to recognize the historical context and social dynamics that shape attitudes towards race and identity rather than perpetuating simplified narratives. While it's essential to address racial disparities and foster solidarity among marginalized communities, it's equally important to do so with nuance and respect for diverse perspectives. Let's strive for a more inclusive dialogue that reflects the complexities of our shared experiences rather than falling into the trap of propagating stereotypes and misconceptions.

psychological colonization worked so well on my ppl they be disgusted with themselves, thinking they are NATURALLY in the incorrect stance in every situation. Thereby subtlety allowing "others" to gaslight them into thinking their incorrect and overreacting and need to just be quiet and go about their life constantly being shoved with the short end of the stick. Whilst the 1% of our ppl get to take out that unheard, silenced. frustration. Out only via mediums like movies, music, and sports. which are predominantly owned by those who are apart of the same system working around the clock to keep our ppl frustration, silenced, and unheard. this could've all been summed up with that phrase they put on lebron " shush up & dribble". Which is what every race that aint AA want u to do, let alone 80% of AA or blk ppl themselves want us to do as well just to avoid the reality of the situation we in lol.

I for sure respect your POV on the “unity” of Browns and Blacks. Like you said, it would depend on the person tellin the story, Because im from Texas, and i was raised with just other browns and black brothers and sisters. Maybe only one white kid i noticed but thats abt it. I do feel like even in Texas, but everywhere we need to really unite. And im talking about the human nation as a whole. At the end of the day, we are all we have. We live on this earth. This is our home. But its obviously not that easy because it wouldve been done already. One step at a time. We all bleed the same shit. Lets learn and build from the past, not dwell on it.✊🏽✊🏿✊🏻

There are misunderstandings and points in this video that are wrong. Latino isn't a race, there are all kinds of latinos. People of all kinds have racist people, there are no exceptions. There are many afro latinos and they have influenced latino culture to what is today. I'm Mestizo and i could tell you if you go to a quiceañera, there is a good chance you'll hear afro latino music like Romeo Santos and Lambada, and you'll for sure see afro latino inspired dances like Cumbia and Lambada. As far as the Spanish, they were not perfect, and they did colonize but their main reason was to spread Christianity. Everywhere they went whether it was Asia, Africa or the Americas, they built schools, hospitals, and Churches. The Spanish also mixed with all kinds of races and shared their last name. You claimed that Latinos (I assume Mestizos) kind of aspired to be white, (Spain of which is a diverse country) but at least when it comes to many Mexicans, it's actually the opposite! I've never been to the south or central Mexico but ive heard some people even refuse to write in Spanish!!! Many people deny having any white background and some people use it as an insult or to tease. I believe a lot of Spanish hate comes from ignorance, one main reason is that the written Mayan language was destroyed, which people think was a racist act. The problem with that assumption is that there are dozens of Romance Languages not just Spanish, Italian, Romanian, French and Portuguese. All of the rest of the people who didn't didn't speak the prominent languages had their languages oppressed, again they are the same people with a Roman background so it was already a problem and had nothing to do with race. People also believe it was "White vs Indigenous" or "Spanish vs Native American" but the biggest tribes actually oppressed smaller tribes so a lot of tribes actually sided with the Spanish. I see some people talk about Dominicans not liking to be called black, and i can't speak for them, but I used to listen to a lot of 90s rap, but after i started to listen to more latino music which was heavily about love, the rap genre and many (not all) messages it said didn't rub right. So I believe it is a culture thing for them and not race, they know they're black. If you're from the States and you feel like Mestizo people treat you badly just know that Mexico is statistically the most dangerous country and it shows in the culture which is sad!!! Many mestizo people are aggressive with me as well! If anyone spent the time to read my comment I hope they learned something and see the perspective from a Latino and Mestizo. Ethnicity, Nationality and Race are classifications, and not a collective hivemind. Most importantly we are all made in the image of God and the gospel is for everyone!!! God bless Edit: Also for many Romance Languages, they have Arabic influence. So even the languages aren't necessarily white languages. As far as "Blancamiento", my family came to this country homeless just a generation ago, so we are still connected with our Mexican roots and I never have heard of this concept ever, so thankfully It can't be very popular. I grew up in black and mestizo neighborhoods and never heard anybody talk about blancamiento here or in Mexico. Growing up I didn't even know I had any white/European ancestry because my family was against the idea, and I didn't look like any white kids growing up so I believed them. These days I am not ashamed of my background, and to be honest I'm glad the Spanish shared Christianity with us.

Slapping Chinese students on subway stations and what you have.. Hating on Jews. Referring to Mexicans as ‘wetbacks.’ And the list goes on and on. Unity is possible. I wouldn’t say its a complete myth but i think its a choice of the brown person to embrace our indigenous and African heritage or try to work towards whiteness and its deeply embedded into our system and our minds to be anti-non white which is why mestiztaje happened and blanciamente i wouldn’t use the word culture although it has affected it alot of our culture like customs traditions legends clothing depending on the country is heavily african or heavily indigenous for example im from Brazil and the majority of our culture is African and its been preserved very well ,but yes our system our politicians our media our elders have all embedded antiblack and anti indigenous views into us essentially making us hate ourselves i have african ancestry but im farther removed from my African ancestors (an example of blanciamento) so i still have african features like my hair which i embrace fully i be getting braids and stuff but however my cousin who’s father had way less European ancestry and was essentially fully Afro-indigenous mostly black he actually took the Kanye route and became a Trump Supporter not realizing he called brown people vermin grapists illegals but doing the same to africans as well as getting his start by exploiting black people a lot of afro latinos ,dominicans especially since they’re the most black reject their blackness to the point where its a meme they saying “i no black i dominican” (even though they have little to no European ancestry) there are some who choose to embrace it we have alot of colorism because of how vast our skin tones and features are i choose to embrace my brown/indigenous heritage and pride but as of recently I’ve also been learning to embrace my african ancestry by doing what i can and embracing my features and it’s something alot of brazillians choose to practice even though we have so much internalized hate it was actually the last new world country to abolish slavery and we’re the blackest country in south America that appalling to me but i don’t think north America is exempt from this since there are more white dominated industries in north America and how terribly north America preserved its indigenous culture by the Europeans keeping their bloodlines pure killing natives and stripping away black peoples African culture from them because say what you want about latin America we preserved african culture in Brazil and in the carribean very well so its very contradictory too which is why i say is a choice our people can make we can choose to hate ourselves or we can choose to reject whiteness rather than aspire to it
