“Boundaries that isn’t enforced is just an imaginary line” that was brilliant! I have a hard time with that because I set them when I’ve had enough but feel guilty saying no when I’m needed by family. Good to watch your video Jeremy always helpful! Needed this one now!

Yes me too, I sometimes feel guilty for setting a boundary. It has become part of the reason I have social anxiety. It's easier to just not deal with people unless I absolutely have to like at work.

I never did boundaries with my girls. Now they are adults and my life is unkind. I was told today by one of my daughters. “You are not the mother I need”. All because I told her I need time for me. I can help you with my grandkids from 8-2. After 2 I want to do the things I want to do. Read, write…. I’m struggling so much with her.

Look, it’s never too late to start setting boundaries. Even if it may feel odd or uncomfortable since it’s not something you did previously, and even if you might feel guilty about doing it, the fact remains that nobody can or will look after your needs for you… it’s up to you to do that. Try saying something like, “I’m willing to support you but it needs to be fair and balanced” or “Let’s talk about how we can reach a compromise that ensures we can both take care of our needs.” This will take time and practice, with regular reinforcement, but things will eventually begin to change. Hope that helps, wishing you all the very best! Jeremy 🙂

Good topic. I feel like my boundary setting abilities greatly depends on the details and my mood.

Thanks! I know what you mean about the mood thing, I often find myself having to consciously reset it every day for myself. The more you do it the more comfortable it becomes!

It annoys my boss and collegues that I have limits. But that's their problem. ☺️

That is absolutely their problem and not yours! Everybody has the right to set boundaries for themselves :)

@@letstalkaboutmentalhealth I love how you talked about 'healthy' boundaries though too. It seems to be a delicate balance. 🙂
