Great video. I own a 450RL with over 18,000 miles of absolute reliability and the valves are still in spec with the original shims. I’ve got it setup as an ultralight ADV bike. I tried the 500exc-f but that motor is way too buzzy. The GET SX1 ecu and Graves exhaust is crazy good! And I’ve owned them all. Keep up the good work.

I traded the AIM ECU for the GET ECU (SX-1). That fixed the quirky low rpm stalling issue. With an FMF Muffler and the air box lid removed, my 2022 RL goes plenty fast for me. Very torquey too. The great suspension, smoothness and reliability makes the Honda a winner. I wouldn't trade it for any KTM.

Love the quality of this Honda bike! Once I modded out ECU, exhaust, tires and put on the RSC clutch lever, the 450RL just feels more engaging and quality than the KTM. Just planted and goes straight through desert whoops at 4th gear speed. It is very durable, including the stock turn signals, kick stand and headlight- all of these are annoyingly poor quality on my buddy’s ‘22 KTM 500 EXCF. Fixable tho.

I sold my FE501 Husqvarna for the CRF450 L and do not regret it in the least. It is simply a better engineered bike, more precise, reliable and after market support is best in class. This bike just needs the engine to be opened up a little and it can be compared to the exc450 or 500. It’s a Honda so it won’t breakdown

I was contemplating getting a 450RL in October, I nearly did, I called the dealership and got all the pricing. Last minute I changed my mind and went with a 690 enduro r because they were $1000cdn off at that exact time. So actually was cheaper than a 450RL and that was a no-brainer. The 690 has 74 horsepower.

Still on the fence about this one. Have a couple of friends with them. Did all the mods and still ended up selling. The other one is "mostly tolerable". I get the emissions requirements but still disappointing, grew up on Hondas as well. At this age the pain in the ass factor weighs heavily.
@bushybill7189 Жыл бұрын
This reflects my views on them. I recently sold my old CRF450X and looked hard at these. There are too many doubts around them, particularly given that a proper test ride on one was not a possibility. Also, I'm sick of stalling and flameouts. I ended up with a Beta 480 and am most happy with that choice.
@bushybill7189 Жыл бұрын
@jondotcom8706 it didn't fix the flame outs on my old 450x. I even had a flywheel weight fitted. That bike was excellent though on every other aspect.

All in all this video really nails all the major points, you're doing well young man. So I've mentioned my T7 before, I'm most familiar with dirt bikes from 30+ years ago, I had a Kawasaki KDX 200 and a yamaha WR 200. Those bikes did well on hair scrambles. But now I'm 60 years old and I bought a T7 as an all around bike that I can also take my wife on rides. But that's what the Harley's for so I've got to ditch the T7. I'm going to my local dealer today to check out the two CRF450RL 's they have in stock. If I end up buying the Honda, I want to add some graphics to cover up some of the red. What are some good graphics companies that are still in business? I'll keep yeeall posted.

They are about to hit showrooms in Australia after being discontinued since 2020. Have a feeling they are going to sell well, lots of people getting tired of the big expensive heavy adventure bikes , that are basically too heavy to pick up after being dropped . A 450 sub 145kg wet bike that can do 60 mph on the highway easily all day and night ,and tear up the dirt, plus wheelstand at will , and can actually do jumps with stock suspension ..should be a hit down under .

I want to ask you guys a question: I'm a beginner rider and really am considering getting this dirtbike as my first ever motorcycle. I'm 6'1, 210 lbs, in good shape, and have a little experience riding a smaller dirt bike. Most importantly, I have been riding BMX, MTB, and E-MTB's seriously for over 40 years. I know that a dirt bike is much different, but I also know that riding dirt bikes and MTB's have a lot in common. I rode a 230cc dirt bike and picked it up quickly. It was super easy for me to ride it, so I am confident that I can learn to ride a CRF450RL, granted that I approach it cautiously and with much respect. I'm also first going to take a motorcycle safety course before I buy it. What do you guys think about me buying it as a first-time bike?

@mikeisland7382 Жыл бұрын
My favourite bit about the flywheel weight is how it improves the L's 1st gear game. When you're slipping the clutch in 1st deflecting off rocks it just keeps chugging. Something the light MX style engines aren't great at. It makes it more forgiving to poor clutch work and easier to ride at slow speeds regardless of ecu. @@MobMoto
