I find Cadillac’s decision to enter F1 troubling, especially considering it was saved by government funds when it nearly collapsed. Taxpayer money was used to rescue the company, and now it’s making a risky, expensive move into a sport that doesn’t address core business challenges. This feels like a questionable use of resources given its history.

theyre a joke. take govt money then use the govt to force f1 to take them in. GM are not racers
@joepompshow2 сағат бұрын
This is a fair point IMO. It’s part of a trend in professional sports where organizations like to socialize costs and privatize profits (using taxpayer money for stadiums, etc.)

And they’ll all be worth $3B in 7 years, great investment

For sure. The cost cap was a game changer 💰

@@joepompshow If I were you I’d shift focus to pumping out more F1 content and focus less on the established American sports leagues. There aren’t too many knowledgeable American F1 sportscasters and KZbinrs. The sport is about to go kaboom stateside, so it’d be nice to build up a large F1 subscriber base now. Otherwise good work.

@@daudimasinde6280 Thank you! I watch all of these leagues so it's tough to focus on just one, but I'll keep pumping out F1 stuff where it makes sense 👊

A *REAL* AMERICAN TEAM IN F1 NOW LETS GO
@joepompshowКүн бұрын
I'm optimistic, but I'm waiting to see if they commit enough resources to be a competitive team. It'll take a few years, but I think they can get there. GM definitely has enough money!

I really hope some actual development of the car will happen in the US. We don't need another Haas deal where all the development is done in Europe and the US side just does the marketing fluff. Haas is a US F1 team in name only.
@skidooboy897715 сағат бұрын
funny because Haas admitted doing ANY work outside of Europe was a waste of resources. and this Real american team is gonna be a sticker set on a car using customer engine never mind Chevys history of in and out of racing. once the cash starts flowing and the losses pile up? GM bean counters will step in and ruin it faster than the Fiero
@augustusappling13910 сағат бұрын
lol maybe if Ford wasnt going to be there id say GM would have a chance. I wonder how many engineers GM had to poach to get the confidence to actually put it on the line for once. The guberment wont be able to save them like usual though

They would be back of the pack mobile chicane.

I work in the F1 industry and don’t watch a lot of F1 content because it’s usually wrong, but this was a great video, very well researched and great to watch. Look forward to more.
@Mull4geV216 сағат бұрын
To add: sponsors from the US contribute over 4x more than the second largest country, the money available is nuts.

Cadillac also makes cars in China which also has a Formula 1 GP.

The whole thing is ridiculous, the teams should not get to dictate who they compete against.
@joepompshowКүн бұрын
Most other pro sports leagues follow the same model, where current owners vote on adding new owners. And it's not completely up to them in F1, as the FIA still has to approve each potential new team.
@penlam17 сағат бұрын
How much does this expense add to the cost and value of a Cadillac? Cost...probably a lot, value...probably nothing.

Unless a team is Mercedes or Ferrari, it takes a new F1 team 8-10 years for a race win, 5-7 years to be in the midfield and 1-4 years at the bottom. So it'll be until 2031 that F1 fans listen to US anthem
@joepompshowКүн бұрын
American fans hear the anthem before all three U.S. races…but I get your point (and agree with it) 😂
@everydaydose777913 сағат бұрын
They could win it at year 1 like how BrawnCedes was created by the late and great Charlie Whiting
