Hey Everybody! This video has been controversial since I posted it a few years back. I still very much believe in a high carb low fat vegan diet. I thrive on 80 10 10, and so do many of the longest living populations around the world. But, if you feel like you are struggling with eating a vegan diet this way, the good news is there are so so so many ways to eat a vegan diet. Find what works for your body and life, and thrive there 😊 xx

Vegan Michele So years ago when I was a professional triathlete, this diet that you describe was the trend in the world of endurance sports. It was based on the Pritican diet. It’s amazing to me how these things come and go and people don’t realize this has been known for decades.

I realized a lot of vegans eat a lot of pasta and bread to make up for the “fullness” you get with meat. Even if I go on Instagram and type in “vegan food” I’ll see a lot of pasta type dishes. It’s the processed carbs that also is a big factor into why vegans are gaining weight instead of losing it.

Absolutely I totally agree. Keeping vegan with whole unprocessed plant foods is the way to go👍

Honestly for me, I was my skinniest and healthiest while eating high carb low fat. I gained weight when eating a lot of vegan junk food. IMO as long as you’re eating mostly Whole Foods, even if it’s mostly carbs, you’ll probably be fine.

And then there's me, I've been vegetarian for 20 years now, and started being vegan 3 months ago. My meals are usually lots of vegetables, beans, tofu, rice spaghetti 3 times a week, potatoes 2 times a week, no bread, no pasta, jogging 3 times a week...and not only I haven't lost weight but gained a couple of kilos!😅 I will continue working out and eating healthy because I feel much better and love to cook vegan, but I'm actually a bit sad because loosing weight seems impossible at this point.

Hi! Do you feel like you may just be eating too much? In order to lose weight we must be in a calorie deficit no matter what kind of diet. A great indicator of if you may be eating more than you need is if you wake up still full or not hungry in the morning. Tune into that and see if you can make some small changes in accordance. xx

Another great Vid ! Perfection ! So many who are new to a Vegan diet live on salads, and add lots of bread, vegan dairy substitutes which a lot of the time are soy based etc... Not to mention, they eat sugar!!! So many Vegan treats, fast foods and milk substitutes have cane juice in them. Breakfast: Soy latte and a giant VEGAN muffin. Lunch: Vegan pizza or a vegan sandwich and a cookie. Dinner: Pasta, or a Vegan Burgers on a bun, is it Vegan? Yes! It is so easy to fall into this patern, especially when you are on the road or with friends having dinner. The ertification you are taking sounds fantastic, cheers to you! I look forward to hearing more about your studies, tips and recipes in the future. You are a bright shinny star in my eyes. You Go Girl!

My usual diet consists of oatmeal for breakfast, brown rice for lunch, kidney beans for dinner, and fruits and vegetables for snacks (no sugar, except the fructose in the fruit, but maybe a little salt in my rice and beans, but not always). My daily caloric intake is 1600-1800 calories a day (contingent on the fruits and veggies), but my BMI stays at around 27 (though, it does get higher if I don't stick to the diet).

I gained weight on 80/10/10 cuz I was always hungry. Now I do unprocessed plant based I don’t do nuts or seeds because they’re really easy to overeat on and gain weight on because a large serving is needed to fill you up. I do lots of veggies, beans, rice and potatoes not much fruit no oil and little salt. The weight is coming off. The starches from the beans, potatoes and rice keeps me full and I eat once or twice a day. I am learning to eat intuitively. I walk everyday and do yoga everyday too. The weight is coming off slowly because after all I am 44 and my metabolism isn’t what it used to be but it’s coming off and that’s all that matters

+Jennifer saeed Hi!! Don't worry, I know it can seem overwhelming at first. The best thing to do is to start reading some things to get educated and stay on track. You will lose weight regardless, so just try not to stress😊 stick to lots of veggies and fruits and healthy grains and beans, and keep the fat on the lower side without completely depriving yourself. Remember you made a huge shift in your life just 10 days ago, you are already doing great. Keep at it with a steady pace. Some great books to read are eat to live by Joel furhman and the 801010 diet by Doug graham ( although he recommends a fully raw diet, the principles of the ratios are explained whether you decide to go raw or stay with cooked foods). Watch some good vegan documentaries and just keep your motivation up. Eat real foods that don't come in packaged boxes and you will be well on your way. I am putting out an ebook very soon with lots of recipes, so stay tuned for that here if you would like some ideas. All the best to you and I know you will succeed! xx

Im really disappointed in this whole plant pased diet honestly... I have 35kg to lose, started it 2 weeks ago and I actually added a kg... I eat low fat (only fats I add are from a tea spoon of mixed seeds, in my salad), I dont eat ANY junk, just freshs veggies, some fruit and full grains with 2 meals (3 spoons of full grain oats for breakfast and a handful of some brown pasta or other grains with my lunch), I drink a tone of water, no sugar, 1 coffee a day (with a bit of oat milk, but its A BIT HONESTLY, a splash..)... its just not working..

I got really fat after going vegan and in 6 months I started to have teeth issues, even taking food with calcium, d3,k2 pills, so I changed to lacto-ovo vegetarian and I've been losing weight. I am sad I couldnt be vegan for long(1 and a half year), but now I believe that it might depend on the body, not only our thoughts.

I just returned to not eating animal protein. I was a vegetarian for 17 years and then when I got pregnant I craved meat. After battling lots of inflammation and autoimmune issues I decided to go Vegan. I do want to lose weight (40 lbs) yet most importantly is to reduce my inflammation and increase my energy. I definitely need to work on my meal prepping and grocery list this week. Any suggestions of full list of a vegan grocery list or products I should always have in my pantry that is as clean as possible. Thanks!

Hi! I’d like to share my opinion on the 80/10/10 diet: when I started eating that ridiculous amount of carbs (all good carbs, nothing refined or GMO) my energy levels lowered incredibly, I started gaining a lot of weight, I started suffering from water retention and I never felt like I was truly satisfied after a meal. Now that I am following a more good fats based vegan diet (of course) I feel so much better! I progressively lost excess body fat, gained lean muscle tissue (I used to work out during my high carb low fat period too!) and my overall relationship with food improved massively. With that being said, the diet you’re promoting on your video didn’t work for me, mainly because of my body type which (unfortunately) can’t stand carbs very well. Be careful when you tell people what diet you think is the best for “humans” cause, surprise surprise, we are all different! And this is coming from a someone who got their healthiest by reducing carbs (not too drastically) and increasing protein and healthy fats (yes oils included!) - DISCLAIMER: If the 80/10/10 diet works for some of you tho, then go head and enjoy it! ✌🏼

This video came us as I was looking for vegan meals and right now I'm not looking to lose weight because I'm pregnant with my 1st child and I'm just trying to live my healthiest life for my child. I started eating vegan for about 3 months now of writing this comment.. (I have not been healthy my whole life and I was eating meat,cheese,milk all made me feel sick but I ate anyway) I have changed my life and I'm in control of my kitchen and what helps alot is my husband who jumped on this with me willingly, he and I are still "obese" and he (had) high sugar levels and we both have had small health issues that if we stayed on the meat diet we were used to we would have made our health worse ... my point of my comment is that sense starting vegan we have both lost weight and the health issues disappeared (no more high sugars). I was scared that I was losing too much weight and it would hurt my baby so I tried eating more but I am a mindful eater and I feel sick if I over eat so that didn't work but when I went to my Dr to check on my baby my baby was growing just fine and me losing weight was okay bc I was still growing baby. So I will continue to eat vegan no matter what but I think my body weight is just going to go to what it trusts as normal weight at some point of my life and I will stop losing weight and stay the same and I'm okay with all that, being mindful when eating and eating until full is healthy and I don't really think someone who eats healthy and lightly works out all week should worry if their not losing weight because maybe their at a healthy weight as it is. I'm so happy to be eating so many fruits and vegetables, I feel great and my husband does and my baby is healthy as well. I'm open to any advise though because it is all new to me in this vegan world but I just thought it was so crazy how much weight I was losing because of going vegan.. in 3months I lost body fat but grew baby bump!

Hi I being Vegan for awhile and I love the food I am 5ft 1" and not really losing weight at the moment I have around 7kgs that I would like to lose ...I switched to vegan keto and I did lose weight... but found it hard to sustain for more than 3mths I am getting confused with all the information out there. I was told that things like fruit and high carb veges ,brown rice etc raises insulin levels and that is where things like fatty liver can happen see Dr Axe, Dr Berg etc ...All I know is that it seems one camp advocates high fat very little carbs with accompanying evidence to support and the other is high carb very little fat . One thing I noticed with vegan keto is that I lost my sugar cravings and was never hungry. Now I am thinking of doing both Vegan keto for two days and carb cycling that is the higher carb a maybe twice a week Please help the confusion is making me just throw my hands up and want to give up !!!
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 5 жыл бұрын
I can understand why you are getting so confused. And there are so many way to do it out there. Let me ask you this: which way of eating feels best to you and makes you feel like you could sustain it long term? Which way of eating makes you feel happy and healthy? I’d say go with that, because we can only use will power so long. Another place to look at is if you are just plain eating too many calories. Often times (barring any medical conditions) we are overweight simply because we are consuming more than our bodies need to sustain our natural weight. Just a thought to maybe think about. Regardless of what way you chose, if you are over eating, you are consuming too many calories for your frame. I made this video years ago, but still stick to this way of eating because I feel the best on it. But I think we all need to find what we feel best on, not try to over complicate it and eat when we are at the “whisper of hunger” and stop when we are satisfied. Eating lots of high volume low calorie foods is a great way to go in my opinion, and the most bang for your buck in that regard comes from lots veggies, fruits and a smaller amounts of legumes grains and a small but adequate amount of plant fats. All the best to you as you figure out what works with your body 💚

New subscriber - enjoying your channel! I have been keeping a food log since July in my transition to WFPB Vegan diet. I am interested in the 80/10/10 concept. How do I keep it accurate? I have noticed in my food log that if I figure the calories for my macros they don’t add up to my total calories for the day. 2 Examples Baked russet potato @ 200 grams = 194 cal Fat = 0.3 (X 9= 2.7 cal) Carb = 42.9 (X 4 = 171.6) Prot = 5.3 (X 4 = 21.2) 2.7 + 171.6 + 21.2 = 195.5 cal A difference of 1.5 cal (close) A bag of Brad’s Crunchy Kale chips. An entire bag is 140 calories. 10 grams of fat (sunflower seed) is 90 calories 12 g of carbohydrates is 48 calories 6 grams of protein is 24 calories 90+48+24 = 162 calories A difference of 22 calories. Where did that extra 22 calories go? I weigh everything in grams and mainly use the Calories King app to get my nutritional value if it is not on the package. And as my example shows how can I trust the nutritional values on a package? The potato ending up being 87.8 / 1.4 / 10.8 (carb/fat/prot) based on a total of 195.5 instead of the listed 194 calories. It seems quite the balancing act to get your total daily macros to 80/10/10. Does Dr. Graham have a solution to help us keep it at his recommended ratio?
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, very interesting what you’ve mentioned here. I think overall, the best to do is not get too hung up on exact numbers but o get close to that 80/10/10 on a daily basis. Sometimes it might be 15% fat, some maybe 20% fat. But overall trying to keep the fat between 10-20% on average. Keep looking to the low calorie dense plant foods (fruit,vegetables, and some whole grains and legumes) as your main meals and you should be on target with that ratio. The healthy higher calorie dense foods like olives, avocados, nuts and seeds are like the “condiments”

What's the best way to find out how much is 10% fat? I've been playing it by ear but no weight loss. I also yo-yed from meat to vegan for years. Been vegan for 8 days now, including IF, and gained 3 pounds. So maybe not enough time to judge. I can't eat too low fat, I get very stressed. However, been feeling better each day (excluding some horrible detox reactions)
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucille! I think if you can track what you eat in a food app like cronometer or my fitness pal etc. it is a good way to see your amount of carbs, fat, and protein. Give it time, and if you feel you are going crazy or unsatisfied from keeping fat at 10 percent, try uping your fat to 15-20 percent. That might feel more attainable if 10 is too restrictive for you. Detox and getting junk out always feels yuck and that may be why you feel bloated/holding a bit of weight. Give it a few weeks and allow yourself to try little tweaks till you find what works for you. I work best on high carb, low fat, but like many people who have commented here, you may need to be a bit flexible on your macro ratios (without obsessing over them😊) to find your best place. Eat when you are truly hungry, stop when you are full, and try not to stress xx

Hi Shelley, I’m very sorry that you’re struggling. It’s hard for me to give you specific advice without knowing exactly what you are eating every single day. If you are having processed vegan foods and not a lot of fruits and vegetables that may be causing weight gain. Regarding the bloating and gas, you may want to add a probiotic into your day or start having more probiotic rich foods at the transition away from a standard American diet to a vegan diet can sometimes cause gas and bloating initially as fresh food is sitting on top of putrefied meats and processed foods in your gut. You may also be dealing with a detox symptoms, and you just have to push past those. Like I said I’d have to note specifics to what you were having to be able to give you better informed information. I do do personal coaching if you would be interested you can check out my website www.veganmichele.com

You are correct about one thing = the standard american diet is terrible. But that's because it contains processed meat, pre packaged foods, refined grains, and sugary drinks. The diet that sustained humans for OUR ENTIRE HISTORY BEFORE THE NEOLITHIC REVOLUTION contained meat, insects, fish, and eggs. That is the natural human diet and the healthiest diet.

I'm definitely cutting out meat (not eggs though) but I have an issue; I have hypothyroidism, PCOS, and insulin resistance so I have to be really careful with carbs-my doctor is recommending 30% or less carbs. I know nuts and oils are vegan, and I'll still be eating eggs for that reason, but I'm kind of worried about this diet because I'm supposed to stay away from carbs and eat more fats. Anyone have any advice?

+Rachel I would maybe seek out a second opinion from a doctor who supports a vegan diet. There are plenty of evidenced based cases of people healing or improving those issues with a vegan diet. Have you read any of the medical mediums (Anthony Williams) books? He has great info on thyroid issues in his new book Thyroid Healing as well as lots of helpful information on those conditions in his book Life Changing Foods. Check him out👍 and good luck.

if you have pcos like i do then i really don’t recommend a vegan high carb diet like she’s suggesting. she has a completely different body type than a lot of women with pcos. have you always held weight easily? do you have a curvy figure? big thighs or boobs? then yeah don’t do this bcs you will only gain weight. i gained 20 lbs vegan after losing 30 keto. that tells me that the diet was not for my body chemistry. she looks like she is naturally slender and not curvy. look up your ayurvedic body type- if you’re the one with naturally curvy or thick then vegan is bad bcs it’s simply to high in carbs and starch. i’m back on keto and have lost 5 lbs doing absolutely nothing. i still eat clean but i have to avoid carbs like the plague. i was eating quinoa, farro, nuts, grains, on vegan and nothing processed and stil gained massive weight and i was bloated and breaking out. veganism does not work for everyone and i wish these people would stop pretending like everyone has the exact same body chemistry. actual doctors know we do not, but those bloggers just talk about what works for them or whatever they googled

Feel free to look up experts in the field like Neal Bernard, T Colin Campbell, Dean Ornish, Joel Furman and so many more to find information on how this diet has helped thousands with weight loss, disease prevention and reversal.

Hello, BVGAN! I really loved this video of yours, but I could really use some more pointers and tips on losing weight! I exercise every single day, mostly doing HIIT or strength training, but before I do my actual workout I walk/run for a solid hour if not longer. I'm also vegan (WSLF) and eat around 1,000 to 1,400 cal of unprocessed food every day as well. The thing is, I'm not seeing any results! If anything, I have gained more weight and fat than when I started my journey. It's really discouraging because I have been giving it my all for about 3 months to no avail. :( If you could help me that would be lovely, but if not that's okay too! Sorry if I'm being a bother, hoping you're having a wonderful day or night!

+SmallBean hi! Thank you for your comment, I'm actually putting out a video really soon that will talk strictly about things to do to lose weight on a vegan diet. So stay tuned for that. It sounds like you may be doing too much exercise, and eating too little calories. And then on top of that, it is stressing you out. All of these things allow your body to try and hold onto weight. I have definitely been in this frustrating cycle before myself so I completely get it. The video will be out this week or next, and it will address these concerns. Don't give up, and hope my suggestions in the upcoming video will help you achieve results you desire. Whenever I do these things, I see results. xx

+SmallBean of course! I totally can identify with disordered eating and over exercising, sometimes we are just doing too much and our bodies get confused. I can say first hand, if our diets are giving us what we need, we don't need to work out nearly as hard. It's not sustainable in the long run either. I'm a big proponent of excercise but there needs to be balance so as not to burn our systems out. The video will be out tomorrow, I hope you find some useful tips in it xx

Have you tried eating a smaller percentage of fat and added in more vegetables and fruit. What I see work with my weight loss clients is keeping the fat low and having filling foods like fruits, vegetables, whole sources of grains and beans. Nothing processed or minimally processed and cutting oil out completely. That’s a very generic version on what I help clients with on a more detailed personal basis, but it seems from what you wrote, you could shed those last 4kg by lowering your overall fat (eating very sparingly the avocado and walnut and omitting the oil completely).

Yes that’s true. For me I still try to keep my fats low from plant sources as well. I do think it matters to the extent that if one is overeating too much food-whether healthy or not- one can gain weight. I don’t restrict, but do my best to eat until satisfied not overstuffed or extremely hungry.

I think a good way to think about it is how many nutrients per bite can you get in? Often times we reach for fat because our bodies are craving the proper nutrients they need. Of course, it’s a matter of habit too. It all depends on you individually but for me eating around 1800-2000 cal per day I have about a tablespoon of either chia seeds or flaxseeds AND 1/4 of an avocado OR tablespoon of a nut butter and that leaves me around 10% I eat tons of veggies in the day and fruit and about a cup each of a whole grain and bean/legume. Hope that helps.

Hi, when we begin adding lots of processed foods (vegan or not) to our diet we will gain weight because as foods are processed they get a higher calorie value for a smaller amount of food. And then we need to eat more of those foods to feel satisfied. If we stick to whole forms of plant foods you can actually get away with eating more volume and still being in a calorie deficit and thus lose weight while eating more. If you are serious about losing the weight, return to eating the way you did before with lots of lower calorie high volumes foods and the weight will come off. You don’t have to be raw if you don’t want to be, but adding in tons of veggies, fruits, potatoes, whole grains, and beans will help shed the weight. ❤️😉

I have tried the vegan tahini and nut based sauces but this is very caloric. I have used some gardenia products to transition and use on vacation!I am also always hungry but do feel good...but somewhat angry and iritable. Hi Heather, it really comes down to the mind. Watch and read some information that will motivate you to continue. Why did you decide to make the switch in the first place? Was it for health, the environment, animals? Motivate yourself with your ‘why’ and keep learning. It is more difficult on your own, but it is still doable if you stay strong to your reasons why.

I was so happy when I saw vegan cheese, pizzas, lasagna and the frozen food section is endless (all made of soy) etc... which to me seemed switching to vegan so easy...BUT I got discouraged, I noticed I’m still bloated and I gained 8lbs 😫 I’m going to assumed those tasty soy spicy “chicken” sandwiches are the cause... gladly listening to advice from anyone....should I cut them all out completely? Are they all garbage or are some ok? My husband just switch 2 days ago and I don’t want him to fall into this as well,especially since he just came off of weight watchers losing 60lbs.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I think they are great for transitioning, but not something we should eat daily. Even though they are a way better choice than meat and dairy for multiple reasons, they are still processed. You don’t need to quit it all at once if your not ready, just try to limit the processed items and replace with more Whole Food items. So for example, instead of prepackaged veggie burgers try making your own with some millet, mushrooms, and black beans. Make a cheese spread from cashews instead of a processed soy cheese. Don’t be discouraged, you and your husband are making great changes just try to incorporate lots of fruits, veggies, legumes, whole grains, and some seeds and nuts. I’ve got a lot of free recipes on my channel and website, and if you’d like you can always purchase my eBook for even more recipe ideas (www.bvgan.com/ebook) Good luck!

Avoid the things you likely know are hindering your weight loss: pasta, flour products, chocolate cake and stick to whole foods. Also ditch vegan processed products and oils if you are using them.

Do you have lists of plant base carbs proteins and fat to share? I'm trying to go vegan but I don't know much about the food types to choose
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 7 жыл бұрын
+c.i lee hi! Sure. Basically all plant foods have good carbs and some proteins in them. Here's a little list off the top of my head: CARBS all whole fruits Mango Watermelon Grapes Oranges Banana Cherries Figs Tomato Pineapple Etc. All vegetables - starchy and non starchy Cauliflower Broccoli Lettuce All greens Grains/starchy vegetable Brown rice Millet Barley Corn Oats Rye Potato Carrot Other whole grains you may enjoy PROTEINS leafy greens have a lot of protein - kale, spinach, arugula Black beans Kidney beans Lentils Peas Any legume FATS avocado Coconut flesh Nuts Almonds Walnut Cashew Seeds Chia seed Flax seed Sunflower seed Sesame seed or tahini Nut butters - as minimally processed as possible. There is a lot more to choose from, but this can give you a starting idea. Hope this helps xx and good luck

I tend to eat 2 pounds of mixed greens (either as salads or green smoothies or both) plus a bunch of other salad veggies (carrots, tomatoes, celery, etc.) and 10-15 pieces of fruit (mostly bananas because they are inexpensive) along with a good handful of walnuts daily. This can easily meet almost all vitamin and mineral needs and gives a fantastic omega 6 to omega 3 ratio while getting plenty of protein as well (I only supplement B12 and D3 periodically if I don't get enough sunshine).

I have gained five pounds since going vegan in the last three weeks. I’m 52, 5’2 131 weight. Can you please suggest a meal plan to help me get started eating the 80, 10, 10 or a vegan cookbook that will spell it out for me. I don’t eat pasta at all. TIA

Hello! This is one of my video goals for the upcoming months, but for the near future you can purchase my cookbook if you’d like as I do have recipes that you can make an 80/10/10 split (there are also more high calorie recipes and treats but plenty to make a very strict clean eating plan as well). I know this can be frustrating, take a look at this video for more suggestions if you haven’t seen it yet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIDTqoCebch4mLM

Hey! It depends, but I’d say that’s fine, overall. Maybe just track your macros for a few days if you are not sure to see how much fat you are getting in percentage wise each day. If it’s anywhere between 10-15% each day your doing great. Also, if you are eating tons of fruits and veggies and not a ton of overt fats each day it will balance out throughout the week.

Was a good video. I lost 40 pounds already and it stopped. I have about 15 / 20 more to go but scale won't budge. I understand muscle from fat etc. But I definitely needs to lose little more. I think I need to start putting in my macros and be more strict with myself cause I tend to grab things when feeding family here and there and I know I can't be doing that. I guess it's hard cause my family not plant based and I am :-( But this video did help thank you

I'm currently working towards an Exercise Science degree for work as a personal trainer and have been considering an eventual nutritionist degree. (Just not both at the same time.) Thanks! Great video. There are a lot of WSLF (whole starch, low fat) recipes on KZbin that follow the sort of diet you're suggesting. If anyone wants ideas, just look up wslf recipes! And TFS!

So this is going to sound stupid. But 80 10 10 how do you know it's only 10 percent of your intake?
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Not stupid at all, I totally get why it can be confusing. If you go to something like Cronometer.com and track your food for a day you’ll see how everything breaks down macronutrient wise into a percentage of carbs, protein, and fat and you’ll be able to see what percentage of each macronutrient you consumed that day. Keeping it on a moderate to lower fat percentage will help aid in fat loss. Soon you’ll find you kind of can eyeball your fats without needing to track them like this daily. Hope that helps.

publishing health videos with no back information can harm! please be more specific on nutrition values like we're to find the protein or fat .... how much you should eat to be healthy..! humans need minimum 50 to 60 grams protein daily, never mess with that! long term impact of too little protein is ill functioning thyroid. Severe protein deficiency can lead to fluid retention, which can make the stomach look bloated! Veganism is not something you can become overnight or start without any nutrition knowledge! Contact a nutritionist or educate yourself from a reliable media not on youtube!! This will help you be healthy on a vegan lifestyle.👍👍👍
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 4 жыл бұрын
Hello, I am a certified holistic nutritionist (this is an old video). I coach and help people on a daily basis. Basic protein needs are between 46-56 grams of protein for women and men respectively. One can get all they need from a whole food plant based diet with your over all protein coming in around 10% of your daily diet. Of course if people are more active and feel they want to add more, that is their choice and I support and guide them for their specific lifestyle. If a Person is eating enough calories coming from minimally processed whole plant foods, they will be getting enough protein, be healthy and thrive on a vegan diet.

The comment sections all over suggests that young teens think going vegan is a diet to lose weight! This is the problem for all the bad publicity on veganism! Too many videos all mension weight loss to be the benefit going vegan! Veganism is not a diet, you can do harm using it that way! i've been vegetarian almost all my life and went vegan 3 years ago. And i'm still learning and educating myself on the nutrition valius. Getting enough of all the nutrients made me gain MORE weight! Bud i feel great and have much more energy no regrets at all! Choose to be vegan for your health not to lose weight.

There is so much more than weight loss when it comes to a vegan diet, but it’s a great byproduct of changing lifestyle. Any popular diet out there can seem like a gimmick for weight loss, but I agree, eating this way is absolutely a lifestyle choice for so many reasons. There are many ways to consume a vegan diet, but research has shown that eating minimally processed whole plant foods with a small but adequate amount of plant fat has the most benefit for overall longevity, health, and staying at ones natural weight.

Sorry if this is a silly question however how many grams of fat a day is 10%?
@veganmichele
@veganmichele 5 жыл бұрын
Not a silly question at all😊 it is a percentage of your total daily calories so that will differ from day to day with grams of fat depending on what you eat. The best way to figure it out is to log everything you eat in a day in a calorie/macro tracking app like Cronometer it will give you the most accurate assessment for exactly what you ate that day. I hope that helps xx
