Here is everything I love about this movie: - It is very colorful, detailed, and fun to look at. - The opening is simply perfection. - The ending is very heartwarming. - The voice acting is amazing. - Chick Hicks - The "Life Is A Highway" part is very pretty to watch - Doc Hudson - The part where McQueen and Sally take a drive is very beautiful. - The part where Sally explains the past of Radiator Springs, and the song, "Our Town" plays is pretty sad, simply amazing, and simply better than every single thing in Cars 2. - The part where Doc races on Willy's Butte with McQueen watching, is absolutely perfect. The music slaps me on the knee so hard every time. - The part with "Sh-Boom" is very nice, and I like how it shows how McQueen has brought the charm of Radiator Springs back. - The soundtrack is very very great. I think it's my favorite soundtrack of the entire trilogy. - The part where the press pick up McQueen in Radiator Springs is pretty sad, seeing as how everyone was actually enjoying McQueen's company in Radiator Springs, except for Doc, and McQueen restored so much of the charm of Radiator Springs, so when it's revealed that Doc called the press to get McQueen, it's pretty sad. - The credits with the song, "Find Yourself" are beautiful. - Many iconic lines such as "Ka-Chow!", "Ka-Chigga!", and "Thunder always comes after Lightning." See, people? This movie isn't so bad after all. Sure the concept is weird, the characters are stereotypical, and the plot is the same as Doc Hollywood, but if you take a harder look at it, it's actually pretty good.

Doc's and Lightning's character development and involvement is the reason why this is my 2nd favorite Pixar movie and is in my Top 5 animated movies of all time. The message is strong and the ending is really wholesome and seeing how much lightning changed from a self-centered and selfish jerk to an angel (i mean just look at The King's crash scene) is just extremely satisfying. I watched it tons when i was little and admittedly, it became less funnier when i watched it recently, which makes other aspect became stronger like the things i stated before. To be honest, that doesn't apply as a downgrade for me and i love the movie even more now.

I love cars, but it's not the best from pixar. It's a simple movie with its own charm, but that's it. It doesn't even come close to the likes of The Incredible, Toy Story 2/3, Ratatouille, or Wall-E. It's a great movie, I love it as much as the next commenter, but it's not of the best. Not to fault it for that though, its not easy to become the best.

I think is definitely one of Pixar's funniest movies ever! and I don't get all the hate it gets 'cause now that I'm an adult, I keep movies like this one in my memory and brings such a nostalgia, it's an amazing Pixar classic and seeing all people "freaking out" 'cause they are cars and trying to find an explanation of how they live and all that crap makes me want to shup them up and just enjoy the film! I mean, Toy Story is about toys that are alive and they don't question about it?! C'mon! Cars deserves to be treated better. I bet 90% of people at home who grew up with Pixar movies love it!👏 👏 👏 🙌

Hi there! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CARS! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about this movie. I don't understand why it gets so much hate. Cars 2006 is one of the best movies I've ever watched and no one around me shares my opinion so I tend to feel I'm the one who's weird except I just think they don't understand and see the beauty of this film. Everyone says the concept is strange and you can't relate to it enough but I can't disagree more! People think the story is just about racing and old roads, but it's so much more. It's about friendship, trust, appreciating what life has to offer, appreciating the connections you make with others and the impact it has on your life. It's also about how we don't need to give so much importance to material satisfactions (like trophies, the piston cup, in the movie) because emotional satisfactions can truly make you feel happy and fulfilled. And this is only part of all the beautiful messages I got from Cars. I love the fact that despite his popularity and success as a racer McQueen couldn't even say he was happy at first, and it's such an important detail because in the end the trophy could have also been a way for him to try to fill the void he had in his life. So, we he filled hat void with connections, friends and quality time with others he realized the trophy wasn't that important after all, it's the ones that surround you that make what you have in life more valuable. Sorry for the long message and thank you to anyone who takes the time to read it. I'm glad we all share a love for Cars and I would've loved rewatching it with you guys😂

As someone born in 2008, i can say proudly that this movie made my childhood. Funny story, according to my family, when we went to disneyland in 2010? i think, i was waiting in line to see Lightning Mcqueen be unvailed from the garage, and as we were waiting, my little 2 year old self cut everyone in line and got to the front and started banging on the door begging for Mcqueen to come out, and as he did my face lit up, i would hug him talk to him and yeah. Overall experience based off stories 10/10, hopefully i can go back someday and re-do the photo

The opening sequence of this movie felt like a goofier, crazier version of Daytona USA on the Sega Saturn, so it was already an automatic win for me right there. 🤣🤣 This movie is really no worse than something like Monster's Inc. It's got a great musical score, and the racing sequences are badass. The way Lightning talks to himself to prepare for the race sounds like how a high-performance vehicle would talk. It's a great hook into the movie's plot, and I'd imagine that a race car would be super obsessed with winning and super proud of his speed and power. I only have 1 major problem with Cars. I noticed this problem as far back as 6th grade, and it only became more and more obvious with each viewing of this film. It's serious enough that, as much as I absolutely love it and the movie's protagonist, I can't in good faith say it's better than The Incredibles, the original Toy Story trilogy, Finding Nemo (fav Pixar movie), Up, or Ratatouille. We don't ever see Lightning's past and background. How did Lightning end up so arrogant, cocky, and short-tempered? Maybe, once upon a time, he was a friendly race car with a gentle heart. Did he come from a poor family of automobiles whose parents always struggled financially, and did he face a lot of bullying from his Lexus classmates? Was he stuck in a series of low-paying, menial jobs for a while, facing abuse from his Cadillac, Lincoln, or Mercedes-Benz managers, who kept insulting his intelligence and denying him promotional opportunities for his laziness no matter how hard he worked, for example? Did other vehicles insist he'd always be a nobody? Did the bullying slowly chip away at his pleasant demeanor and build resentment in him? When he found success, did he let it go to his head because he felt like everyone was an idiot who could only see his genius because he's rich now? What drives his ambition to be a racing champion? Are those insecurities why he's so focused on beating Chick Hicks and winning the Piston Cup? Does Chick Hicks represent the morons who used to look down on him? Does he want to prove those bastards wrong? Does he think that, by winning this big race, he'll finally be certain that he'll always receive the respect that he never earned when he was a poor sap? On the other hand, when he was poor, was he closer to his family and did he have more friends, maybe even an old girlfriend, all of whom he abandoned because he was afraid of looking like a loser by associating with them? Despite Lightning's astonishing success, did he miss that community he left behind? Deep down inside, was he searching for the same friendships he used to have? Therefore, is the narcissism just a way to cover up any weaknesses or inner doubts? Pixar wouldn't have had to make some overlong, melodramatic flashback sequence. Just show his background in a series of photographs and old newspapers that trigger some bad memories or maybe a dream (or nightmare?) sequence while he's sleeping in that one scene. It could've lasted for less than 2 minutes. This scene could've reinforced his overwhelming desire to win the upcoming race. When, in that one scene, Mater asks Lightning why his race so special, Pixar could've reminded viewers of that sequence by having Lightning rant about how, by winning the race, he was gonna make tons of money and prove everyone wrong about him being a loser. Done. Viewers might've thought: "Maybe Lightning wouldn't have turned into a big, dumb bully if he hadn't been treated like a loser for so long. " "Dang, no wonder he's so arrogant. I might've ended up the same way in that a setting that cutthroat and abusive." "Gosh, he's so obsessed with proving these assholes wrong, when he hasn't seen them for years. They really got to him. Anyway, I could see that. They really treated him like crap." And, most importantly, some viewers might've thought: "Maybe he still has that capacity for empathy like he did years ago. The sad part is that, now that he's in Radiator Springs, he's finally in an environment where there's less of an emphasis on money and fame and more of an emphasis on friendship and community. But, he can't see that because of the horrible mistreatment that he faced in the past is so hardwired into his head. He can't adapt to an environment where there isn't an obsession with winning. Or maybe... he can? Let's see what happens." Essentially, such a characterization could've made Lightning more sympathetic and therefore made his motivations to win the Piston Cup more relatable. That scene where Lightning feels regret after Doc chastises him for being a self-centered jerk would've been more powerful. They could've drawn some parallels between this scene and Lightning's past. Viewers could've seen that, thanks to the narcissism that he used to cover up his personal doubts, Lightning had turned into what he hated, namely the same jerks who bullied him years ago. It also would've made his decision to help the King along the finish line more significant and rewarding, now that viewers would've gotten to see that softer side of Lightning that had been dormant in him for so many years. Most of all, it also would've reinforced the movie's theme of becoming a better person and being apart of a larger community. Moreover, the story could've been tied to a larger message about how socioeconomic stratification can unfortunately lead to social isolation and alienation. That would've added a lot of depth to Lightning's character and Cars' story as a whole. It's like how Woody's hatred toward Buzz Lightyear is more or less an analogy for how, sometimes, a father can become jealous and angry towards a new stepdad who comes to his son's life, especially given the parental role that the toys play in the lives the children who grow up with them. What makes Pixar movies more mature than the standard CGI movie for families is how the stories can be tied to more adult themes and life experiences. (Hell, even Chick Hicks could've used more development. Some viewers complain that he's a one-note villain. Maybe he's Lightning's opposite in more ways than just he hates him. Maybe he came from a high-end family of successful race cars who drummed winning into him, for example. If he loses, then he'll bring shame upon the family name. That puts him under a lot of pressure to win, and that pressure shows in him constantly crashing other cars. You could've shown SOMETHING about the backgrounds of Lightning and Chick, Pixar. They are the hero and the villain of this movie, after all.) Other than that, 7.8/10. Despite the somewhat low amount of depth in Lightning's characterization and the plot, Cars 1 is pretty rad. This is the best Cars movie, and it's too bad that they never topped this one for this series, even though Cars 3 was a major improvement over the 2nd one to be fair.

I have better reasons why the Cars movie is good. It’s because it’s like technically, the characters are kinda like robots because it’s about self driving talking cars, but they’re not like actual robots, they’re just sentient and anthropomorphic and it’s compared to the transformers that are literally from earth instead of Cybertron, but it takes place from another universe and they don’t transform. Cars is also like Knight Rider. And it’s also compared to the movie, Robots from 2005 because both animated movies are about talking machines and there are no humans around. Cars is also like Wall-e because that movie is also about talking machines. I was wondering of the inside of the cars would look like normal cars, like showing a mirror on the top, the seats and a steering wheel and yes, like I said before, it’s compared to the transformers and knight rider.

Man I love the entire franchise, Cars is probably the best franchise not only in the Pixar series, but overall as animated movies. I prefer Cars Franchise even over Toy Story. The Spy concept of Cars 2 is damn crazy, it's like watching a James bond in Cars version.

It’s not Joe Rogan. It’s the late great George Carlin! Respect the classics man.
