Had it not been for those devastating knee injuries his career would have been something else. Watch the 100 skills r9 did and compare it to messi you would get a glimpse of what I'm saying. Basically r9 was a player with messi's dribbling, Neymar's skill, cr7 goal scoring ability and mbappe's pace. Too much talent for his knees to handle.

Way too much hype! Claudio Echeverri (17) has the potential to be an excellent player but he is not anything close to even a 16 year old Messi or a 17 year of Ronaldo (R9), Ronaldinho, Neymar, Mbappe etc when they all played in the U17s. Claudio Echeverri is really not that much better than Augustín Ruberto or Paris Brunner in my opinion Also, a future Messi will have to be much better than players 3 years older and younger. So let's wait and see how well these current 17 year old will perform when they turn 20/21 before we start labelling them as the next greatest player of all times. That being said, I am sure Claudio Echeverri will do very well in his professional career but it is way too early to compare him to Messi.
