It greatly helped to watch you using this app in your process as it gave me an idea of its simplicity for my basic needs. I’m looking for a tool to record rough sketches/designs for my metals designs and notes as I create those designs. dwg is not possible, but you can export it to dxf, which is almost the same. And that's also possible in the free version

It's actually not only a pad. It's an all-in-one PC. Like an iMac, but with the best Touchscreen on the market. It's a Microsoft Surface Studio 2. Unfortunately Microsoft doesnt sell these as monitors only.

using that but procreate seems better. it has no eyedropper like procreate.

It has an eyedropper. Just like in photoshop. You see it at 2:53 .I have never used procreate because it's made for iOS exclusively, but some coworkers, that have iPad Pros sweared to me, that they are preferring Concepts over Procreate or Morpholio. I should get them to make a comparison video about this.

It's easier to access, more casual, has the infinite canvas and for people, who don't want to pay the Adobe Abo, it is for free. I obviously use Photoshop a lot, but I prefer Concepts for sketching, making notes and even for digital drawing. In my world both applications can exist for different purposes.

@@MalinoisLuna17 I use Photoshop all the time. However, that infinite canvas in Concepts gives a certain liberty that Photoshop doesn't. In Photoshop, when I'm sketching ideas, I run out of canvas space all the time and have to resize things to make everything fit or even spread things across multiple documents. It's workable but cumbersome. With Concepts, that worry is tossed out the window. I just scroll in any direction and keep drawing. And since Concepts is a vector program, I don't have to worry about pixels limiting the quality of my lines. Photoshop remains one of my go-to's for highly finished art, but in terms of just sketching and brainstorming, it's so convenient to never run out of canvas in Concepts.

Nowadays free version is very very restrictive. You can't even move a vector or have more than 5 layers. Works only for testing the app.

Free version is too basic to be useful. Even select > copy is a paid function. A vector app can be useful, but you will need to pay, forget the ‘free’ notion.

Why does everything have to be free when people have put so much work into creating it? The basic price, even with add-ons, is very reasonable for anyone who also has the money, technology, and time to be browsing KZbin. You would spend more on a pizza.
