The movie felt more like The Meg book then the actual Meg Movie

I always loved this movie. But something that annoyed me that I could never get past was how they scaled down the size of the sharks when they actually entered the facility. I mean come on LL Cool J was in about 3 foot of water and the shark was completely submerged That means you’d be looking at like a 6 to 8 foot shark tops compared to the 18 to 20 foot sharks they portrayed in the beginning of the film. Unless the first two were much smaller than the one that they brought up to do the brain fluid extraction on and the one that was blown up in the ending of the film, they definitely missed the mark on that Very important detail.

There’s 3 sharks, 2 males which are twins and smaller compared to the big female. The female is the one they take brain fluid from and she is blown up at the end. According to some trivia she is the one who has the highest kill count with the twins only scavenging and one eating the parrot.

Even though Bruce doesn't look like a real Great White even today, it looks like something you'd not want to be stuck in open water with. DPS has such JANKY SFX, even when it was new they were hit or miss. It was as if two teams worked on the SFX or something.

Indeed. We have Jaws, Deep Blue Sea and newly added to the rare category of actually good shark movies The Shallows. It's true, that someone can argue that Deep Blue Sea isn't a normal shark movie, as they are vastly improved to be more intelligent (which makes it even more scary to me), but to that argument I have only one question: "And Jaws was a normal Shark?!" Also... this movie got sequel which is on part with Jaws as well. But I mean Jaws 4 which is just beyond bad....

this was my scariest movie ever when i was 6 (yes, my dad thought it's a good idea for kindergarten watch this movie lol). growing up and rewatched this and i thought this is like Jaws but with Jurassic Park way of using both great CGI and animatronics. i've became a fan immediately. sadly sequels are...meh. but i think Deep Blue Sea 3 is is much better than second but still meh.
