In this Talk, co-founder of Assembler Labs and successful entrepreneur Ian Sefferman explains why Detroit is prime for startups. Ian draws on his experiences of working for major tech startups in Seattle to Detroit’s startup community, which he believes is still in its infancy. Detroit also has a plethora of founders and investors entering the community, much like Seattle did 15-20 years ago. Its identity is nascent, so founders/investors are working together to build the startup community in Detroit and believe that it can be a model that all other startup communities look up to when it comes to diversity, energy and success.

I wouldn't wish any city to turn into the next Seattle. Unaffordable housing for most middle/lower class people, gentrification that has destroyed so many established neighborhoods, horrible traffic, a corrupt city council, rampant drug use, homeless camps along sidewalks and freeways. Note to Detroit, you don't want to be like us.

What about UniversalExposition.com? Could be the world's perennial exposition capital.

COVID-19 has shown that jobs are no longer secured. Everyone one is getting laid off. So why not take a risk or two?

I would listen to this presentation all the way through if the presenter didn't end his sentences in a question mark? Very annoying? Is he six?

one of the most annoying pick up speakers I've ever had the displeasure to almost listen to more than a minute of. But no longer.

I'm considering the idea of using auto-tune on people who speak like this. perhaps even using auto-tune on people who speak like this, not only in editing.. I know that is just such a unicorn idea?
