I've had alot of people telling Me don't waste my time basically with Last Epoch. I personally am excited as well but they'd say of it's just one tunnel to the next not very good monster density not open world like d4 this and that. And there's no end game and easy bosses. To them i say I'll be the judge of that!

What I hate most is that everytime Last Epoch adds a new piece of content it's actually unique content so I have to learn it all over again... I mean in Diablo 4 I only had to spend 6 months learning how to fight the scourge of the land once and now he's recycled as the Son of Malphas so I can save those 6 months and spend them on running more variants of helltide instead. Now that's what I call quality of life.

Loot filters is not for everyone...but a game with so many loots with limited space without it is also not for everyone...but if its made to be optional like its there when you need it, then that game can be for everyone...LE's loot filter is unmatched in my experienced.

SO far as set items go in LE, if you pick the Circle of Fortune guild, eventyually one of the powers of it is that if you would drop 1 piece of a set, the entire set drops with it.

@@Jabarri74 circle of fortune is the non-trade faction you can choose when 1.0 releases. You can either trade or have super buffed drop rates essentially. But neither locks you into ssf. You can still play with people in CoF you just can't use the trade market

The skill tree part really makes you realize how lackluster the D4 skill tree is...holy shit. Like you can do so much with just the skill fireball alone and make it do several things with several mechanics and D4 is over here like "Do more dmg" or "Do more crit" .. just pitiful

That's really the only thing D4 did right : the visuals. Almost everything else is inferior to all the arpgs released for the past 10 years. Blizzard doesn't know how to develop good arpgs anymore.

Hearing what Diablo 4 "was going to do" made me think, "oh wow, these guys must have seen Last Epoch and the other cool ARPGs such as Grim Dawn; maybe we'll even get a loot filter and meaningful crafting..." I know I could get it now and play it but I like to be patient and wait for the official release. I sat on Baldur's Gate 3 for like 2 years after buying it to wait until the official release came so I knew I was playing the complete game with no restrictions and all features that were supposed to be in the game were there. It will be the same for LE. I do hope it's as good as people say it is.

I have no idea what drugs you take, but having to go through the long grind with every character doesn´t add to the longevity of the game, it just gives you a very good reason not to twink and stop playing earlier. One piece of fun I always do in every D3 season is to create a full ancient set of armor + weapon, use the jewel to make all of them level 1, add LoN and then hand it to my twinks and dash through the whole leveling phase in 5-6 Torment VI runs. It takes me hours to create the set, and yes I could have all classes at level 70 in 1 hour if I just asked a guildmate, but that´s not the point. It´s simply way more fun my way. Can´t do anything like that in D4 though

Personally I love item sets. The dopamine hit of finding the next item in a set that gives you that juicy bonus, and finding the last item in a set you want feels amazing. Balancing them is always the issue though, I didn't really like D3's reliance on sets that just outperformed everything by orders of magnitude until LoN/LoD. LE does this pretty well; set items are still somewhat relevant but most BiS gear is crafted exalteds or uniques, so it still feels good to find a set until you start hitting real lategame and crafting and finding BiS exalteds. Plus they usually make great items for alts. Getting a full set bonus at minimum available level is an enormous power boost while leveling.

I have played one character to the Monolith and then tested out a couple other chars. Love the game, but I knew I'd want to wait for 1.0 so I haven't touched it in a few months. Now that launch is imminent, it's getting harder and harder to hold off. But there's SO many improvements coming in 1.0 that it's sort of useless to play right now.

Regarding that comment on World of Warcraft Shoulders, there is a place in the current expansion where you can turn almost ANY piece of end game gear into a set piece with no downside except maybe the secondary stats changing on said item.

I have dabbled in Last Epoch on and off while in early access for over a year, waiting for the full release to really get into it. It was really good in EA and progressed nicely. I will finally have another arpg to play other than just Grim Dawn (which I love btw).

I will never stop wanting D4 to further support Eternal Realm characters. It's the only reason I would ever log in, is to travel through my chosen favorite location of Dobrev Taiga and its town Margrave, addressing the particular area events, dungeons, loot nodes, and cellars with my preferred character, Denovir the Rogue. I don't want to play another character, I want to get better at my already established character. I would rather they include a homesteading system or camping system than continue to push seasonal restartings of our characters.

Take the steam forums with a major pinch of salt, there are a large number of people trolling and making silly/dumb posts in an attempt to farm steam points with rage bait. The feeling I get most from other vets of LE / ARPG's is wary excitement. LE has a good foundation, but we will have to see where it goes in the next year or two.

1:20 To be 100% fair there was an expensive early acces version of the game all the way back in Alpha where they wanted to raise money but limit the players. Idk what the minimum was, but I overspend and bought the third most expensive version of the alpha bundles for 240$. I think that may have been the minimum to get to play the alpha. So there was one of thoae in 2018 or so lol

I love what helldivers 2 did with their microtransactions... you can earn the credits to buy things in their "battelpass" by playing the game or buy the credits... the most you can choose to spend is $20...

​@@Syllaren to be fair there really isn't anything to "catch up" on with Helldivers 2. It's cosmetics, the armor stats you see on the battle pass armor you also get on normal armor. One of the best things is that the BP doesn't go away like it would normally. They took the Halo Infinite approach where you can keep earning things from previous passes when the new ones drop

Honestly thanks to d4 not having the d3 gem "remove lvl requirement" means i havent even made a 2nd character to t4, heck not even to lvl 50-60 or whatever to do the dungeon to get to t4, its just SOOO boring at low levels and not being able to powerlevel with one lvl 100 item

I have good news for you DM...Sets are Build Changing, but mostly only useful Pre-100. Most End-Game Builds on Icy Veins and other Build Sites, rarely if ever use them.

Fun fact. LE has had leaderboards since day one of open testing. I’ve got almost 3000 hrs in LE and despite LE still needing a lot more improvements to end game, it’s still vastly better than D4 in every way.
