I'm not surprised about Shoigu being removed from that particular post. I was in fact wondering what kept him in place. I'm only surprised that he didn't exit via an open window.

Putin played it cool. He had to wait for a reelection reaffirment to remove him. I blame Shoigu for the Wagner disaster back ago when Prigojin either had enough or took a pentagon bribe. Surovikin only followed orders... I hope he is still alive, his line stood against the Ukrainian spring, summer, autumn, winter, spring again offensive...

This is the "Beginning of the End". As a professional and much older, according to my opinion Mr. Putin made a serious mistake what can lead into Catastrophic Consequences (however, I wish to be wrong). I can tell how the soldiers beginning from the lowest up to the highest rank who dying in the field will be accepting orders from Janitor or Clown and not from General... The Janitor can give them more money, but the Army need experienced Commander not an accountant. If there was some intolerable problem, Mr. Putin should be more sensitive in replacing Minister of Defenee during the very critical situation.
