The Vikings don’t have the roster yet, to compete with teams with elite teams in the NFL. The last two games showed this. Time will tell if the Vikings address those holes in the roster. KOC and the GM stated that he wants to win championships. If they do, the GM and the management need to bring in the right players and assemble a more complete roster on both sides of the ball. They can use the draft and free agency.

2:00 this immediate gave all the energy to the Rams, and they never gave up this momentum. The bad call on the Vikings sack/fumble touchdown was the nail in the coffin for game momentum. Heck Vikings looked anemic in both of the last two games. Toughness, I think metaphorically speaking, this team has Low-T. Vikings need a culture change. I have heard from comments that the Vikings reflect "Minnesota Friendly", and have little chance to play a level of playoff intensity.

KOC needs to be fired or demoted to head of PR. He’s good at coach speak, pep talks, political correct answers, but his play calling, clock management, in game adjustments or lack there of is horrendous. Hi! We are down by 300, let’s just take our sweet time and run the ball again, no need for a hurry up offense. I’m just done with him. He never changes. It’s been the same story for three years.

Does KOC allow Flores to call the defensive plays? Otherwise, how come Flores does not get his fair share of the blame, for his defense not covering Puka Nacua? Or, is it defensive player execution? Or a combination of all of these. I heard some Viks fans call out Flores for allowing Nacua getting open AGAIN!. Like there was no adjustment to shut or slow Nacua down.

The post game response of two coaches who's QB's played poorly. O'Connell - “I just want to say it’s very important we all think about Sam’s body of work, what he was able to do this year, when not many people thought he would be able to lead a team to 14 wins,” O’Connell said. “It did not work out in the end, and I think Sam would be the first one to tell you, could he have played better tonight? I’m sure he would tell you he could have." Harbaugh - "We did him a disservice and didn't put him in the positions to be successful enough, but he played like a beast. … There's nobody in this entire organization who gives more blood, sweat and tears and contributes more, produces more for the entire organization than Justin Herbert." Poser vs real coach.

Good stuff my friend! It's really hard to believe that Darnold, an MVP candidate 2 weeks ago, suddenly cannot play QB, taking 9 sacks and missing open receivers.! You have to ask why? Poor offensive line, maybe. Poor execution, maybe! For my money, it was poor coaching the last few games that did him in! Coach O'Connell was outmatched, outsmarted and out schemed! Darnold was the victim of a coach who let him down when it mattered most. I think McVay taught him a very nasty lesson. I hope he learned something, I have my doubts 😮

The Vikings were cruising for a bruising, and what I mean is Sam is a QB who can have a championship if the team does not put a lot of weight on him. Therefore, he had success for most of the season, but December football and the playoffs is a beast the Vikings are not ready for, they need either a QB1 who can be Superman or they need to surround the QB with the right quality players, for just one example, the Vikings need a high level rb1, a young fast player who take it to the house

When the passing game was not working. Why not try more run plays or short passes. The Vikings play calling is too predictable. KOC did not prepare the team for the game. Harrison Smith is a overrated player. He’s white and that is the only reason why he was a fan favorite. At least there was a bright spot to this season that he’s not going out with Championship. This is part of problems with KOC and Mike Zimmer. They keep players like Harrison Smith and CJ Ham. Do the Vikings really need Harrison Smith? They are paying $12 million a season and he’s 34 years old. I think the defense plays better without him. They wasted millions and an active roster space. Millions that could gone to a top tier offensive lineman. Why? Because he’s a fan favorite? CJ Ham is another one. You rarely see him play. You keep him because he’s a nice person and he’s great in the locker room? Nice guys finish last. The Vikings priority should be winning games and winning the Super Bowl. What was KOC and Vikings thinking? That they need to some how to keep Harrison Smith, because it would be story book ending story helping bring a Championship to Harrison Smith before he retires. Can they guarantee they will win Super Bowl? The answer is no. That’s a lot of coaches problems. They keep players that are overpaid and just above productive. Meanwhile they have a younger player who plays with heart and determination and they are paying him less. Sooner or later that younger will not buy into the coaches system once the team starts a losing trend, and why should they care or do more than what they are called upon, when the other player is getting millions more than them. Anyway a new head coach like Jon Gruden would eliminate all the Vikings problems.

I agree with your list only the order is out of whack. And as you'd expect I'd remove Harrison Smith. Including him in the list is strange (yes he looked awful on that tackle) but bagging on his career? It makes me wonder if you've watched any amount of Vikings football at all over the past 10 years. Where you are right is that KOC will not get the Vikings to a superbowl. He's too predictable and stubborn. He doesn't play to try to minimize their weaknesses (interior O-Line) by foolishly calling long developing plays. With that said, Darnold either literally watched receivers running wide open or locked on to JJ instead of seeing someone running wide open. Darnold is also confused by blitzes when half-decent QB's salivate and hope for blitzes and throw to the hots or vacated areas all day and practically thank the defense for the free yards. Instead he chose to hold the ball for 5+ seconds almost every single play despite having a horrible interior O-line when even elite lines can't hold up for that long. When he wasn't doing that, he was throwing behind his receivers. It was the worst two game stretch for any vikings QB I have seen. And in some spots Josh Freeman's game was made to look better...

Maybe if they weren't still devoting dead money cap space to Kirk and Danielle they could have fixed more of the roster issues. Rick was doing that too (pushing $ into future years). Clean slate with JJ next season and lots of cap room available for free agents.

While I agree with your criticism of the other people on the team, there is no way Darnold was only the No.5 reason they lost.

@2Evil2Hope wow, what a smooth brained response. Tell me how I'm wrong, buddy. What a wack response. Just throw an insult while not explaining yourself any slow mo can do that. Sam darnald gets sacked 9 times 6 of those times he held the ball for 4.5 seconds or longer which is an eternity he loses 82 yards by getting sacked which is insane he throws a pick he's barely 50% completion percentage, he gets stripped sacked for a td and that's not on sam darnald? He overthrew a few screen passes. Wide open receivers not being thrown to. He was able to do these things all year long and was great under pressure during the season, so we should change what got us here in the first place? Sam sucks in big games. You're telling me if kirk put up numbers like that and did these things koc would be #1 on the list and kirk would be #5? Your full of it!! Stop watching Dan orlovsky, you sound dumb. Telling me I'm slow and smooth, brained logic. Where's your logic? You just hurl insults. What kind of logic is that?

@ lol, okay I guess my comment was rather dickish. I just saw someone bringing up the giant waste of space that Cousins was and I said nasty things. I am not a Cousins fan clearly. I actually agree that it''s on KOC and the lack of preparation that was clear the last two games. I want what every fan wants which is a Superbowl win so it's almost more frustrating that we have an amazing season that ends like the one in 2022 against the Giants. I apologize for what I said.

When I saw the headline, I naturally assumed it was just another generic temper tantrum post by an impetuous teenage or 20's fanboy who thinks the coaching staff or QB#1 should be fired, completely oblivious to the fact that the consequence of such an imprudent overreaction would be 3 or 4 years of rebuilding team concept & team chemistry. Then I click on the clip only to see a fully grown man boy who apparently who refuses to grow up & instead chose to play the blame game. So, the Vikings lost in the WC round of the playoffs to a better prepared Rams team that was highly motivated because of a lot of intangible elements that any coach would be hard pressed to plan for, namely the emotional charge of a city that lay in ruins & were inspired to represent their loyal fanbase, many of whom had just lost their homes, their livelihoods & even loved ones. Suffice to say that any Rams' opponent would've been up against a powerful force beyond the X's & O's. Here's the deal. Every year in the NFL, there are 29 teams whose seasons either end in a loss or who fail to make the playoffs. By your logic, there would be 29 QB's & 29 HC's looking for employment in the off-season. Someone needs to take a deep breath & take a good look in the mirror BEFORE he starts overhauling his favorite team. You had a really good year. 14-3 is nothing to sneeze at, but they weren't the best nor the hottest team at the end of the regular season & heading into the playoffs. The team, as it stands right now, has plenty to be excited about next season. You f**k that up & the 2024/25 may just be the apex of team success for the next 5 or 10 years. As is, there are high hopes for improving in 2025/26. Take away any critical piece, and the impetus shifts from improving next year to replacing the missing piece of the puzzle. I don't think you thought this through before you posted it & based on an amazing successful season that didn't end the way you hoped, as it doesn't for all but one team at the end, maybe you should have.

@@mwood1012 As a former player I agree with Greenard. There are no moral victories. The process is a means to an end. The goal is to win your last game. But you are just a spectator, you can claim victory when ever you choose because you have invested nothing.

@hunniebe6 That's a stupendous leap away from the point. That said, 29 other teams stand by the same principles you mentioned. My comment wasn't even in that ballpark. I said, by his logic, there would be or should be 29 HC's & 29 QB#1's fired whenever they DON'T win the Super Bowl. It has ZERO to do with moral victories. It has EVERYTHING to do with perseverance, team unity. It's about persistence & not firing everyone this fanboy blames for losing in the first round. Btw, I played Div. 1 football, but I didn't think I needed a career resume to make a simple, very valid argument for getting back at it next year. Not gutting the team just because it didn't end the way HE wanted.
