There has been speculation as to why Polka Dot Man was in a Metahuman Supermax prison, and it has to do with his backstory. He said, more or less, that he really doesn't want to kill anyone, except his mother. We see that he sees EVERYONE as his mother, though. So, speculation is that one day he just snapped, and started killing all the 'mothers' around him (i.e., Mass Murder) and was captured and sent to Belle Reeve for it.

I grew up collecting comics and I remember the original suicide squad from the 60s and the first 80s 'modern' envisioning with supervillains but yeah not familiar with the newer stuff and I wasn't familiar with most of these characters either. Heck that sharkman dude I only recently saw due to checking out the Injustice comics and bloodsport from the 80s byrne Superman run where he's pretty much a totally different character from this one. Yeah these guys are obscures. Also I find Harley annoying myself... she seems to be a pretty divisive character. Never was a fan of edgy characters much like Deadpool for instance which I saw as a lame combination of Spiderman and Deathstroke back in the day.
@Magnet_Chaos3 жыл бұрын
@@Peremptor Deadpool entire point was to be a lame combination of Spiderman and Deatstroke when he debuted though. It wasn't good. But that was his puropose. Later on Marvel turned him into their own Ambush Bug. And I don't know about Deadpool being edgy. Deadpool is a bit too silly and selfaware to be consider entirely Edgy. And the character himself hates his fans that like him for that reason. I think he just attracts the wrong fans. Or that the general public and companies get the wrong idea of the character. And Harley is devisive because DC likes to push her into everything. Like she is extremly popular. But even too much of a good thing can be bad. Wolverine had a similar issue back in the day with Marvel putting him literally on every super hero team they had. Like I like Harley. But Jesus Christ. Can they chill out with the character? She just keeps showing up in stuff she has no business being in. As for King Shark.... He kinda shows up often enough outside of comics that I feel anyone keeping up with DC shows and animated movies would have heard of the giant man shark dude.

Another big factor was that the DCEU brand has already been burned down so much that people don't want to watch movies related to it anymore. Being a sequel to Suicide Squad 2016 absolutely did not help at all either, Birds of Prey similarly suffered from being related to that shitshow of a movie.

I don’t really want to admit it cus I love this cast of characters but I do think the film suffered a bit due to not really having any really big big name characters in it aside from Harley and possibly shark. I mean the first film was shit but it had a lot of DC villains and characters casuals could recognise like Croc, Deadshot, Boomerang, Katana, Harley, the enchantress, etc. It’s defintley not the main reason this thing got way less money at the box office but I would say it is partially a contributing factor to it all
@Gael07673 жыл бұрын
Isn’t it just HBO max releasing it?
@elin1113 жыл бұрын
Guardians of the Galaxy was also about a team of complete unknowns without any recognizable characters in it. If anything TSS majorly benefits from not relying on the same old predictable characters we've seen a million times and instead gives other characters a chance to be in the spotlight. Lack of recognizable characters wasn't the problem, The Suicide Squad suffered from two big things: -A lot of people have been burned by the DCEU enough times between every Snyder movie, WW84, Suicide Squad 1, etc. When only about 2 or 3 movies in the entire franchise are considered decent people are giving up on it altogether. -Bad timing for a release with Covid getting worse lots of people felt uncomfortable going to the theaters so instead they watched it on HBO Max where it apparently is doing much better but those numbers aren't tracked by the usual box office obsessed crowd.
