The more carbs I eat the more I want and the more crappy I feel. I’ve noticed if I stick to healthy keto less than 20 carbs a day, I feel better and can fast over 24 hours! Thank you Dr. Berg for teaching us how to be healthy ❤️

Im completely the opposite, i feel and perform much better on a high carb/low fat diet. If i lower the carbs right down and increase my fat with avacados’s,eggs, nuts etc i pretty much just gain fat. Even with the same calorie count and exercise/work routine. when i say high carb it is fruits, breads, pastas, salads, wholegrain cereals. I wont vege out on donuts, cookies chocolate bars etc.i dnt drink alcohol which is a bonus for my health i guess aswell. Different folks different strokes i guess. What works for one may not work for another.

Dazza skillz I guess it also depends on your metabolic health too. I have a SLOW metabolism and I was pre-diabetic, fibromyalgia and joint pain. Been low carb keto since 8/2019, lost 43 pounds and can fast for 36 hours. Yesterday I fasted for 23 hours and ended it with a 45 min workout then a sirloin steak! I’ve never felt better!

@@dazzaskillz9278 Same here, my diet consists mostly of carbs like the ones you mentioned. It’s sad to see people demonizing all the carbs just because of the obvious bad carbs like cakes/ doughnuts/ juice/ sodas. I love healthy fats too, like nuts, avocado, cooking with extra virgin olive oil.

I've been on low-carb diet over a year and one thing I have noticed is the food that makes me satisfied. At first I thought it's only carbs that can make me feel full. Now if I eat carbs I just feel empty, like eating nothing. But when I have something that has good fats, protein and maybe some green in it, I feel like my body gets everything it needs. Carbs can fill your stomach and momentarily feel satisfying - especially if you're hooked on them - but they really don't satisfy our needs.

As a Thai person myself. When I eat rice with Thai dishes I m feeling full for a long time until next proper meal without snack. But when I wake up and have bread I have to eat anything in the next 2 hours. In Asia we eat rice or noodles with meat and veg 3 times a day. I been following this doctors recommeneded diet for a very long time and didnt even know it. in 2012 I weighed 418 pounds. After changing to this diet, fasting, and adapting it to my life style, today i hopped on the scale iam 216. Did it all with proper eating and a little bit of working out, NO SURGERY. Now i barely workout (all i do is push ups and squats) and im still losing weight. What he said about the body being satisfied with nutrient dense foods is true, sometimes i have to force myself to eat because im just not hungry and i try to squeeze one more meal before i start my fast. And i fast from 7:45pm to 12:30 1pm the next day. I feel great!!! I can stay in a room full of pizza, donuts, chips, and cookies and not be tempted to eat one. LIFE IS NOW GREAT!

@@billsalcido7878 I just think for some people the hunger will never really go away given I’m 18 months into this! Lol. What has changed however is that I can bear the hunger better now. Before I did keto and fasting I often felt that I had to eat immediately and it was very much my body playing havoc with me if I ever tried to ignore a hunger feeling. I think it might have had to do with my blood glucose levels which were probably very high due to all the carbs. And a very high blood glucose is often followed by a very low level which gives you the feeling that you really have to eat. But thankfully now I’m in a very narrow range.

How many people are following 1) Strict keto and how many years 2) Intermittent fasting and how many years (More than 16 hours per day) 3) One meal a day and how many years If we need to know answers for the above questions, this is the best place. I know that the number will be less than 4.26 Million for all the questions. If Dr can conduct a poll, we may know a more accurate number.

I’m an expert of my own experience. I’ve mastered my relationship with food. I do not follow or eat according to the Food Pyramid, government created. I don’t believe carbs are essential. The less carbs (sugar is a carb and all carbs are a sugar), the better I do. And I don’t believe the need to eat six times a day. I live a low to no carb lifestyle. I eat all animal proteins and fats, full fat cheeses, vegetables with less than 5 net carbs and no fruits while mostly OMAD (one meal a day) fasting. I don’t count calories. I eat until very full. If I feel like eating more than once a day I only eat the foods mentioned. I don’t snack. I don’t feel obligated to eat because someone offers me something, that’s absurd. Social gatherings don’t change what I eat. I don’t reward myself with food. I eat to live, not live to eat. I don’t workout in preparation for holiday eating or special events because I eat the same way all the time. It’s my lifestyle. If my foods are not available, I fast. I’ve not eaten any grains, breads, pastries, pastas, rices, candies, processed carbs (carbage) in almost 3 years. 1st year I lost over 100lbs. I don’t miss any of these foods. I do workouts that don’t require gym membership, jumping jacks, push ups, squats, calf raises, and running.

Dr. Berg i have a question....You said in many videos. If we consume more carbs and eay frequently we Will because IR or Predibatiec. They why not all Fatness Freaks or Gym trainer became IR or dibatic and even none of them have dibates. They say it's complex carb and they are enjoying their live and fit and healthy.

Carbs plus low fat meat meals, as modern body builders do, spike more your insulin. So you create more mass from food, thats why they eat this way. After some time they develop what is called palumbolism, not very healthy looking gigant gut

Hi Doc, my inquiry is not related to the topic discussed in this video but here it goes: GARLIC WATER. What are the benefits of consuming garlic water on a daily basis? Could you make a video adressing this topic? Myths? Truths? I would appreciate it

...Lol...seeing the tub full of Doritos gave me flashback of pre Keto days Super Bowl Sunday eating a whole big bag of Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips cheering on the Patriots; those days are over; I do not get cravings for such carbs since my Keto lifestyle change Monday, March 7, 2016 (after watching some Stephanie Keto Person vids.)

I used to eat that big bag of Doritos in one sitting also 35 years ago. I used to drink a lot of pop afterwards.

I would be less hungry if I ate nothing until dinner than if I overate for breakfast and lunch. It’s the only reason keto works for me. On keto I forget to eat sometimes.

I'll hope he answers you but you dont need lots of protein but some. I'm thinking when you get alittle better adapted to low carb that bad reaction to protein might change. I have made such positive progress in the last 2 years. Be well.

@@augustinebenneh5424 You are right. It is definetely help improving my overall health. I am still trying to be consistent though. I mean I had tried your advise before but it only lasted for maximum 2 months and it need to be balanced with some exercise, right? I am still struggling about that one too. It is not difficult to eat more fiber or exercise but it is very difficult to be consistent for longer period of time.

After decades of eating the SAD and even faithfully doing the DASH diet will I'm sure I was IR when I started keto 6 months ago. But I just had the labs for my annual physical and my fasting insulin was 2.1 (standard low is 2.6) and my glucose was 69, so I may be past IR. In those 6 months I've never kept a running total of my carbs each day but because I am only eating a couple of times and not snacking and keeping my meals low carb I have a good ballpark idea of where I am in regards to the carbs I am consuming.

@@sarahm3614 I'm at the weight I was in high some some 50 years ago and already have people ask if I am sick because I've gotten so thin. I really can't go much lower in weight than I'm at. But on keto I've never counted calories or specifically counted carbs either yet I've reaped the benefits of being on keto.

Eat a large bowl of oats porridge, if you still feel hungry eat another bowl. I can guarantee you will only eat what you need as the taste is so boring. The only reason people feel hungry is when there is an unlimited supply of nice tasting carbs.....these tasty carbs have to be loaded with either fat or sugar to make them palatable. It is almost impossible to overeat plain boiled carbs.

You are talking about refined carbs which we all know it’s bad however unprocessed carbs (whole grain) have fiber, fat, vitamins which keep you satisfied for longer as well as keeping your blood suger sturdy
