Sorry, is the flat out entitlement mentality. The Rider fills the driver is his slave. Same rider gets to a restaurant, spends $10 and tips the server $5. But for crying out loud. The drivers made sure you got to work or home safely while you may be napping. Value n appreciate your drivers.(I have had a guy who withdrew from ATM $200 spent it all at strip club and was asking if we don’t offer military discount anymore?) He left his receipt in the car.

Most passengers tip much more than $1. I'm talking about ones that may use rideshare, for instance, to go to and from work and already are giving back some of their much needed wages to get home. Some customers leave a $1 tip and one can tell that for them it was a significant tip. Most leave much larger tips than that, but for some $1 is a significant and very appreciated tip.

I have a serious issue. When you are on a trip, Uber sends you future trips, but while you are on a trip, won't give you a final destination. If you are not on a trip, you see the final destination. Why in route you can't see the final, but while you are sitting you can. Complete bs. Truly, legally they shouldn't be sending you a text, that you have to react to. Bs

I'm a driver, but my key fob battery needed to be changed today. I got into a Lyft where she was driving like a bat out of hell, blasting her music and FaceTime with her friend while driving. I could forgive the horrible driving, but not the FaceTime call while I'm trying to talk to you. @@sunshineman4394 Hi Sunshine Man, your book is an inspiration! 🚙🙏 I agree with Jeff and you that positive attitude is everything. Today my roommate mentioned that he was impressed that he sees me cleaning my car every time I go drive for Uber, I responded that in India (I’m from Brazil), there’s a saying: “ Your guest is God”. It’s the Golden Rule worldwide, treat others like you would like to be treated. The main reason I love to drive Rideshare is that I’m the captain of my own ship, I only go out when the spirit moves or my bank account is depleted, most importantly though I’m cognizant that my passengers are my responsibility as far as their safety and comfort. I’m lucky that I drive in San Francisco where my radius of operation is less than 4 miles (with the Bay waters around downtown). My daily mileage is negligible and I drive a Hybrid. So yes, Uber burned 34 billion Dollars to create itself and now they are beholden to their shareholders. It’s still doable in SF if you drive during the peak hours. It will never go back to the days of subsidized rates, and with the advent of autonomous vehicles and the proliferation of fake accounts it is what it is, unless you’re in Seattle, Manhattan, Boston or other relatively profitable markets. Cheers 🌞🚙

I tried doing Uber for 1 week and left. Junk job with junk pay. Then, with a little research, I quickly found out that Uber stealing driver tips and shorting their pay is common. I fought with customer service for hours on the phone and through their site to get my proper pay, which is still abysmally low. Frankly, I don't know why any of the drivers stay. Junk job, junk pay with an unethical piece of junk CEO at the helm. Corporate theft is alive and well. I've never used ride services and I'm not going to start now.

He mentions how the sidecar app operated, and that makes way more sense than the way Uber/Lyft do it. In fact, it sounds like it was actually LEGAL - can you imagine that?? IMHO that is the big push at the moment. There needs to be a hybrid work model created and that must include us having more control in terms rates. In retrospect I feel like the owners of Sidecar were brilliant. Every vehicle out there had a profile so if customers saw different rates they could delve deeper up front to see exactly what they were ordering and compare. Sadly Google bought the right to the Sidecar code and I don't see anyone able to run with it. Uber tried giving drivers in CA the option of creating their own fare multiplier. It was short lived, but it is a step in the right direction.

@@jwbrandt70 You can keep telling yourself that it's a "step in the right direction" if you want. However, I know different. I can't tell you how many times I chased surges only to wait 20 minutes for a ride to the middle of nowhere that I would never take. Now the surge is gone and all you get is $3 rides. The Gig economy has developed an interesting dynamic. They keep hiring and hiring (because there is not limit and no real quality bar) and it's a zero sum game. So the more drivers, the fewer rides per driver. Uber and Lyft are happy because wait times go down and the money keeps rolling in for them, but we keep taking smaller and smaller slices of the pie. Why don't we quit. I keep asking myself the same question. I have only been doing it a month and I am sure the first "real" job that comes along will get me to jump at it, but for now, it's better than nothing.

I started around the same time, late 2015/early 2016 exclusively on Lyft because of that power driver bonus they were offering. 50 trips got you back 10% of the 20% that Lyft took. 75 trips got you back the whole 20%. I always did the 75 trips and with the Lyft shared trips could knock that out under 40 hours/week consistently. Once Lyft did away with this power driver bonus I had to run both Uber and Lyft. Uber bonuses were pretty good back then but nothing like the power driver bonus where you could in effect drive making 100% of the fares week after week.

I think Lyft needs to follow whatever it is Uber does for tips. I dunno if its the push notification reminding the rider to rate and add tip or what but Uber tips so much better than Lyft riders. I also wish Lyft would add a thanks for the tip feature like Uber, I think the fact that the rider knows the drivers actually get the tip and can show appreciation leads to the individual tipping more regular.

How many of them were planning to throw me a $5 tip, but never got the chance because I can't take those rides and just hope to get a tip... I can't imagine why they don't do it, because it would be better for the riders too since those that tip would get quicker service, and those that were not tipping would get exactly the service they get now...

hi sergio why the drivers are complaint with uber n lyft but still driving few main reasons is first no doubt you have working hours of your own choice big advantage۔ secondly there is no full capacity any one any time can apply and within few hours you are good to drive۔ retired people have good Opportunities to work۔ part timers have good option of extra earning۔ the main difference in taxi n uber is app system they are first in transportation to introduce it۔ previous ceo travis kalanick without fail you should give him full Credit for putting uber up high and destroying triditional taxi system to below ground with burning the cash freely and he manage to get full support from investors for cash burning The only act which led taxi to crushed upto below ground level۔ now they are enjoy as both riders n drivers are in their hand to penetrate them۔ sergio tell me when you go to walmart do you ask employees about their working terms n condition NO same in uber n lyft riders look prices they dono't care anything else۔ so donot expect rider will have sympathy to drivers۔ thats why i always says more compatitors good for drivers۔ Amazon got one compatitor name TEMU plus all retailers do uber drivers have any such type of uber compatitors۔

If uber could run a background on my wife and offer another subplatform to be selected. Riders could also pick that selection, see my wife's picture as well, and Ubers revenue would increase. They told me no. I then asked am I allowed to take my service animal. They said yes. So I'm curios. What would scare a rider more. My big dog with 3 inch teeth or my wife. It makes no sense. Good question. So now I have a question. Did you remove the app from your phone and reload it. Reset your network settings. How many rides have you done? I’m in SoCal so not sure what your situation is. Because they do tell you if I’m not wrong they will take that away from you if you’re not doing something. I don’t know if it has to do with your rating as a driver. Or your acceptance rate. Or your cancellation rate. There are a bunch of things that you need to do. Again, I don’t know your situation.

I’ll tell you exactly why I 7 1/2 million drivers exist. We all need money to eat. We all need to keep a roof over our heads. Pure and simple we need to survive. Hopefully one day after we get these elections over with the economy starts moving. We drivers stop driving. Because we can get a normal job. Then not only we can survive on, but actually put money in the bank. That’s when we destroy rideshare. You know it’s all about surviving making a buck feeding your family.

I am wanting to know how are you (we) able bto drive in two different states? You mentioned you are in both AZ and MN I was always told you can only notice in the state you are licensed in with a car that is registered in. I am mostly driving in CA however spend a lot of time in NV and it would be great to drive in both states I am only licensed and registered in CA what can be done to drive in multiple states or do you have to change your license and registration each time?

Different states have different rules but I think in most cases it's just the drivers license that must change. For me that is all that is required other than the vehicle inspections are also separate by state in my case.

Unfortunately if passengers could tip upfront Uber algorithm would lower the base pay. It does that with surges already and sometimes. Tips were taken out of historical Taxi tradition by Uber. Younger passengers aren’t even cognizant that that tipping was part and parcel of the culture in past.

Many rides out there have a hard time getting filled; for instance out of town rides. Some passengers wait 20 minutes to find a driver that will take the ride but would have been happy to pay far more for a better experience. I think up front tipping is an obvious solution to this.

Because they aren’t using it the way it was designed to be used. It’s a gig, not your major source of employment. Even those of us who use it the way it was designed are suffering because someone has to pay for the extras that the fulltime workers want and they weren’t smart enough to realize that the ones paying for these extra employee-like benefits are drivers making lower pay and riders paying even more for their ride. The companies are not the ones suffering as much as they are already barely surviving. Competition is rough.
@Polisht
@Polisht 22 күн бұрын
The way it is intended is to actually get on and stay on as long as you want. Doordash is a gig as you have to sign up to work. Rideshare though is not recruiting as a gig. They manipulate people in to thinking its their own business. Its far from your own business.
@cliff1291
@cliff1291 22 күн бұрын
“The way it was intended” is the most frequently parroted misinformation about the gig economy. This is retro speak propaganda to justify the lowered pay by the companies themselves. So they kill a legitimate job industry (taxis) and we’re supposed to pretend doing the same job isn’t real work? The reality is “the intention” was drive however long you want to, there was always work so you can invest as much time as you want to your earnings.

I only do this if they say they’re going to tip me in the app.

Rideshare will eventually go back to taxis 🚕 and Waymo since Rideshare driver's account's are being hijacked and sold on the dark websites and killing passenger's and molesting them or kidnapping them or the Rideshare driver is using some else's account, very unsafe!!
