They usually do it indirectly, calling them out for soldering down the components. The people who watch these kinds of videos are likely to upgrade their computers and stuff, so if you can't upgrade after you buy they'll call that out instead. I do agree that they should do that though, in a review, which this is not.

It's really not possible to tell either way just by watching this video as so much depends on the microphone, audio processing, compression and finally the audio setup used in the device you watch this on can make or break the audio. But if I were to judge by what I can hear I would agree with OP. It appears to me that the HP sounds better than the Dell. Using my setup the HP sounds more open and more detailed in the high range than the Dell. The Dell appears to lack in the high end as well as in the bass register, giving it a muffled sound that lacks in details. But as I wrote I can't really say that's anywhere close to what it sounds like IRL.

@Dylaila show me one laptop that can't be used on an airplane. And please don't bring up that stupid 100 Wh limit nonsense. My old laptop had two 65 Wh batteries, never had an issue.

@jubuttib
@jubuttib 4 жыл бұрын
@Dylaila I mean technically some might fall under those restrictions, but not that many laptops. There's the 100 Wh thing, but even that seems to be mostly aimed towards powerbanks rather than laptops. I thought I might have missed some newer restrictions, but googling the issue revealed only specific restrictions for not being able to take a laptop into the cabin when flying to or from certain countries, and of course not being able to use them during takeoff and landing, but other than that even the 100 Wh limit wasn't mentioned as applying to laptops. EDIT: Even then what would prevent you from taking say a Zephyrus G14 with you? Apple Macbook Pros, MS Surface Books and LG Grams come with larger batteries, and it's an under 2 cm tick 14" laptop that weighs 1.6 kg. And happens to have an RTX 2060 inside it. It's only a bit bigger than a Dell XPS.

Yeah it's heavy and square but it could do anything you threw at it and it never slowed down or ramped up the fans. Used it as a docked PC for my desktop at work and then when I needed to do something at home or in a conference room you had everything you needed. Mostly did 3D modeling and Civil 3D/AutoCAD which runs really heavy (because it's still not multithreaded)

Thanks Alex!!! For finally reviewing something from the Z series by HP. Most of the things people like about other competing laptops HP has been doing them in the Z series for years. Not sure why they don't do them in their "consumer" products sooner so they aren't "catching up" with the competition in that category though. Will you please also compare the Z series desktop to the Apple "pro" desktop for a real comparison instead of saying that there isn't anything else in this category? HP literally created the workstation/professional class desktop computer category when they invented the first "GPU" decades ago and they have dominated it ever since then.

Okay, Linus hire a laptop reviewer who has no biasness towards touch displays, I have dozens of people who have bought laptops from your recommendation but all of them found the unwanted suggestions Alex has for touch displays. The touch functions are amazing to use ik personally, but seriously man, there are a very very very small amount of people who want touch displays. Huge respect for you guys♥️

Same thing puzzles me here as with gaming laptops, how often do you really need that power on the go? Is not better to have an even more powerful desktop for the day-to-day work and then something more reasonable when you need to present that work (or whatever you need a laptop for)? Of course, this could be a super niche laptop for those who already have a much more power desktop, and this is the weaker thing to bring with you.

@@Dionyzos i heard from my uncle who is an engineer at apple cali (take it with a grain of salt he’s just an engineer) Apple Is trying to work out a deal to get nvdia gpus but they want the latest and greatest and they’re reserved for intel only so it most likely won’t happen. But the rumored m1 x is coming out on the 16 inch version so if you’re a creator like me you’d want to hold up for the 16 inch cause it seems like a beast

HP does some pretty great stuff. Stumbled across one of their their "Omen" machines that has a 4800U, a 2060Q, 8GB RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD and a 144Hz FHD display. ...all for a GRAND!! That's pretty amazing. Unsurprisingly, it was sold out. Maybe slap in some more RAM and a bigger SSD, but damn...that CPU/GPU combo ix pretty nuts!! That'll game like a CHAMP!!
@rmp5s
@rmp5s 4 жыл бұрын
Like, I'm a huge HP fan...been buying their laptops for a decade now. They make great stuff. But the AMD stuff has WRECKED Intel. Like, that Omen machine vs the ZBook Create G7 look at this shit... RAM and SSD, the ZBook gets 16GB and 512GB respectively while the Omen gets half that. Easily upgraded...who cares... Displays are both 1080p but the Omen's is 144Hz. Now, the parts that matter...GPU is 2060Q vs 2070Q...bit better! But the CPU? The Omen's AMD 4800U cranks out 17240 points on Passmark's CPU Benchmark while the Z's 10750H puts out only 12649...AND AT 3 TIMES THE POWER!!! Then the price...I mean...a grand vs $2,749 on HP's site? You wanna pay 1750 bucks for a slightly better GPU and FAR worse CPU? I SURE DON'T!! Sure, different form factors and stuff, but damn. That's friggin amazing...
