Khan absolutely did something terrible in leaving Uzi behind, but I can’t be mad at him for it because I can so clearly see the chain of events that led up to that decision. This is the same man that has already been beaten down by the grief of losing his friends and loved ones to the disassembly drones. In his mind, he had already lost his daughter before he even made the decision to close the door. I’m so glad that he got to redeem himself in the finale.

I understand that. Something I noticed no one ever talks about is while Uzi did during the murder drones there by accident. She wasn't supposed to be near/at their base in the first place. She stole the door key, lied to Khan about where she was going/why, and ran back to the shelter that had been protecting everyone for who knows how long. Her decision to do all of those things resulted in N, V, and J getting in and doing their job(killing worker drones). Yes she's young/a angsty teen but actions have consequences regardless if they are intentional or accidental

I wish his character had more screen time in the finale. I don't know,i thought he would play a bigger role rather than Just shutting the door on cyn. But at least he had some character development. When doll attacked uzi, he didn't hesitate to run to try to help her. I know It's a really short moment but i Still like It nonetheless. It's a shame that due to the pacing of the whole thing he didn't get to shine as much as i thought he would. But Hey,the base is there so im happy we got Some character development

I kinda love that N put Uzi on his shoulders. Not only because of what we connect to this pose, it's also quite "intimate". He could've carried her in his arms, but he chose to put her up, above himself to keep her safe and still use his hands. He didn't even think twice about carrying her, he just did. And Uzi accepting it without saying anything shows that in this moment she's trusting him with seeing how she currently is instead of being like "ugh don't help me I'm fine"

My mom was this critic type of parent. In my case if one thing was out of place even when she knows who did something wrong - it's everyone's problem. - My little brother broke something? I'm at fault for not paying close attention. - My little brothers got too loud so I got mad at them after a few times telling them to keep it down? Now she thinks I have anger issues. I'm the eldest so I should provide an example... - My parents forgot to tell us we're going to visit relatives and we're not ready? I'm at fault for not asking. - She didn't say: "Hey, can you please help with something?". She said: "Why didn't you do this something?". Was I suppose to know there is something to be done and it's my responsibility? Why you never ask my brothers for help? When I do help around the house out of my own will, she responds with "Why you don't do it more often?" and found it funny that I'm helping. - When she was mad about something she vented on me and reminded me what I did wrong through my life, just like that out of the blue. If I agree with her and saying I will do better, I'm still not doing good enough. I go against her, than I'm not supportive. I stay silent - she thinks I'm not listening and she keeps on talking. She noticed I'm trying to get her to stop complaining for an hour (measured on the clock), she didn't care. My response never mattered, she would just get more angry until she ran out of steam... I have nowhere to hide and run when she was like that, so the best thing I could do is to let her vent everything and get tired. It just took so long every time... The timing as also before going to sleep exactly so I will go sleep on it. She confessed about it. I didn't sleep those nights. One time she said something that broke me completely and I couldn't sleep. She was literally waiting for me to get to bed and turn off the lights before she said and when to bed herself right after so I won't ask her what the hell. I was about 26, I finally snapped the next morning and told her right in the face what I thought about her behavior. She said something so out of the blue and so painful that I don't even want to share what she said. Three days later she was diagnosed with brain cancer. For the entire year before that moment, she wasn't actually the one speaking and saying things, it was the cancer speaking. The mental experience with that is too much for a KZbin comment. Two years ago she passed away. Brain cancer does some weird things on one's way of thinking. So if someone you know starts to act consistently strange (a long period of time when this person isn't acting as themselves), it might be worth checking with a doctor before going to see a therapist.

More Murder Drones would be lovely, because even though it's a short series, it's very densely packed in just those 8 episodes. You could even further cover things like Othering with Tessa's family and how badly and dismissively they treat service drones and look down on Tessa's "hobby" of taking in her "pet strays" (ie, repairing, housing and overall loving and caring for abandoned and/or broken robots), and their emphasis on social apperances over all else. Everything with the Absolute Solver program can be seen as a kind of genetic mental illness that those afflicted with have to struggle with (since it is revealed that it can be passed down genetically), and how scary and isolating that can be. There's seeing Uzi learning to trust others, the result of being ostracised her whole life, and embracing and becoming comfortable with herself and the people and things she loves. There's dealing with repressed memories and the trauma behind them, finding out you've been lied to and used by people you thought you could trust, and overall just learning to balance yourself and the different parts of you.

Boy, the bit about questioning the “us versus them” mentality really struck a chord with me. I won’t give specifics, but when I began questioning my beliefs against the “others”, that’s when the whole narrative I was fed my whole life began to unravel. It was nearly a year-long process, but when I finally saw the whole picture, it was like my brain was thinking clearly for the first time. I completely forgot the reason why I hated the “others”, if I even ever had a reason at all.

I may not be the biggest Khan fan, but I do appreciate the type of character he is. He neglected Uzi for (presumably) most of her life (I don't think it'd be particularly far-fetched to say that the neglect started around when Nori (Uzi's mother) died), culminating in leaving her for dead in this episode. However, he does realize just how badly he messed up, and spends the rest of the series trying to make up for it. At first he overcompensates and becomes overbearing, but he does eventually realize that Uzi needs him as a friend and confidant, not a guardian. Uzi if obviously still annoyed by him at times, but we can all see he cares :)

“J, you’re sometimes kind of mean to me, and I wish you weren’t. Just some constructive criticism!” “Nice~” I just love that exchange, looking at it here, ‘cause even though it’s not exactly a sick burn, it’s still a huge step for N to be able to stand up for himself and get these feelings out, and I imagine it was very hard for him too, but I especially love Uzi’s response, instead of just going “Is that the best you can do?”, she offers genuine praise to reinforce the idea in his head that he did good and that he shouldn’t be afraid or ashamed to say something like this to someone who upset him Edit: And honestly I can especially relate to him in this regard and these situations since I have anxiety and autism and so I’m always afraid to speak up or get into trouble and stuff like that

I just realized that... I empathize with Usi. It's been a long time since I watched the beginnings of the series, and I kinda forgot... But my mom actually did something similar to Uzi's dad. We lived in a motel for about six months, trying to find a new apartment. The agreement when we got there was that the first one to find an apartment would host the other one while that one kept searching for an apartment. Well... My mom found an apartment. And told me point blank I couldn't move in with her at all. She broke our agreement and left me in a motel room with a drug dealer next door. It's been almost a year now and I'm still reeling with the aftereffects. I'm still super mad at her. It still gives me anxiety. Especially since she doesn't even seem to realize what she did to me.

i feel many are way too harsh when criticizing Kahn. remember, Kahn has already seen this before, he witnessed his wife being mortally wounded by the murder drones. he actually mentions how he had to put her down himself as their nanite acid ate away at her body. seeing uzi (who also looks just like her mother) attacked definitely triggered severe ptsd flashbacks and the fear of living through that again was most likely overwhelming.

Hey, great video! :D If you continue with the rest of the episodes I wonder if you'll pick up on Khan's trauma and his reason (imo at least) why he pushed Uzi away And if you think anything about the little line when N says smth like: "Stung yourself? Just pop it in your mouth, our saliva neutralises the nanites. Otherwise I'd be constantly disassembling myself." especially that last sentence as the show progresses and spoilers: no one ever stings themselves with the tail, and that eventual scene in ep7 that N says in the beginning.

I love this show, and V and Cyn are my absolute favorite characters. Cyn is so adorable and creepy, and you can’t tell me she doesn’t have robo-autism. Spoilers below. However, V’s character is one I relate to in a different way, and I’m still annoyed she (and N) never got therapy at the end (even as a quick scene in the montage). V is a character who had to hide just about everything she knew, and she put on the façade of being sadistic to keep herself and N safe because she’d rather have him hate her than remember the trauma she does. My dad was an alcoholic and has anger issues, and I’m the only one in the family who can calm him down. The rest of us have to hide that we know he was an alcoholic, and it’s my fault we ever found out. If I had reacted better to an incident some years back, we never would have known. I’m the one who has to deal with everything, with every goddamn word he said about my sister’s plays, about her. I’m the one who has to stay quiet about everything and pretend that I was just as clueless and idiotic as everyone else because I realize that I was there for the early signs, and I said nothing. Seeing V hide everything out of fear for herself, Uzi, N, even J struck a nerve. Seeing her pretend to be someone else to make life easier for everyone is too relatable. I almost wish she hadn’t been written like that but I’m glad she is. I know this is stupid, I’ve rambled too much, but this is the only chance I’ve gotten to realize why she’s so relatable.

4:50 J's later quote of "barely sentient toasters" really lines up with this, bringing the Worker Drones down to little more than animals. This becomes especially hypocritical by the time of Episode 2's intro, because at least in episode 1 J is physically built different and is made with the need to kill them in order to survive. 12:30 As mentioned above, they do explicitly have what amounts to vampirism which would kill them if they don't cool of their insides. 13:53 He wasn't particularly angry with V. J was the one he had the most gripes with, hence why he asked to fight her before Uzi told him to fight V anyway. Can't wait for your Disassembly Drone costume!

can we appreciate that N's rebellious phase starts with him friendly waving to the people who think he's more useful dead? funnily enough I'd think I relate to N quite a bit. even if you don't like what's going on, not questioning it avoids a needless fight but it can just hurt you more

I really love Khan’s abandonment in episode 1 because it sets up his overcoming of ptsd later on

Me and Khan don’t have that much in common: -We both work in security -we both are involved in advanced ai -we both are with a purple-haired tall (I assume based on the picture) woman who scares us -we both like Doors (him literally, me the game) -we both happen to have a bad relationship with a teacher (not ours)

I love how Uzi's Mum took a look at her baby and said, "I'm gonna give her the name of a gun." Theres no way her Dad gave her the name lf a gun. He would've given her a door name, like Hinge.

Feel like with Uzi it's mostly the angsty part where although not as much as her but there's been moments where I'm saying in my head tell me about it been there, while N feel like is relatable with the whole finding a girl and having a crush on her. Khan is complicated in that I get what he did but maybe a heads up before hand would be nice

Would love a deeper dive into some of the middle episodes when they are all working together. Or some of the school scenes and social aspects is always interesting.

It's easy. We relate because we probably all remember being teenagers. And what these characters do is VERY teenager ^^;

Khan's betrayal was horrible, especially as a parent myself, though I do understand his fear, and maybe he was thinking of the good of the colony by sealing the door. He at least has the decency not to try and defend his decision, he clearly regrets it, and can't even find any words for Uzi to justify or apologize.

Georgia even got the purple hair highlights for this video. I want a therapist this fun. How can I broach the topic with her? “You know what you’d look good in? An iron man suit.” Oddly a lot of this hits home. I was ostracized in my last work group and ultimately transferred to a much less desirable division. I have no family, so work is all I really have. My transfer was ten months ago, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’m starting EMDR this Friday… because I guess I’ll try anything.
