It’s not uncommon to hear a pop or click in your shoulder when you’re lifting heavy things or just moving it around. Because of the many muscles, tendon and ligaments associated with the joint and varying types of movement, its not realistic to pinpoint just one cause for general clicking. In this video, A.J. explains a major reason why your shoulder might be clicking and how to fix this from a scientific perspective.

Hey I'm a newly graduated physiotherapist and I have had issues with my shoulders since childhood(trauma when landing on extended arms from a a height), clicking included. I enjoyed the video! Gave me some thoughts and had some great exercises with proper instructions. Good job! Looking forward to new videos

Good day sir, do I retract my shoulder blades” before” for all the exercises? As I don’t see any shoulder retraction for victory pose

Thanks dude. Watched first minute, pushed my shoulder back and raised my arm in front, no click. Strange one with my weakness/injury is the pain in my clavicle if any pressure is applied... Will try these exercises and see If t clears up.

I don't know about the bones crack, but the vains near my joints entangle and thus clicking

When i do arm circles forward it clicks everytime it goes from head to down and it doesnt stop i can do million arm circles and it will pop million times it dont hurt but it bothers me do you know if these exercises will help

it happens anytime i roll my shoulders and half of the time when i lift my arm sideways, its literally only in one shoulder

My shoulder pop everytime I do leteral raises idk why it's only happen this day and I still warming up before maybe because I exercise in morning or what? So confuse lil bit painfull and discomfort and it only happen on right shoulder anyone has same issues??

whenever i do pushups my shoilder clicks!!....and it's painful....even if i move my shoulders upwards or downwards...then also it clicks!!!

Thx for help guess i should shop for bands for Christmas sucks cuz I strengthened my core and fixed lower back pain now I got this stubborn shoulder popping the human body made of cardboard I sware

Not cardboard but all the muscles and nervous is what does all the problems. Getting tight, moving the joint getting injured.

usually high reps and controlled motion to properly warm the shoulder up

No resistance band? Lay on flat bench on your stomach and perform same movements using a light weight dumbbell ✅

So i was just trying this out without using any bands or equipment and just by doing the first exercise my shoulder started to click loudly and without fail on each rep as i brought my elbows back. So i was wondering if anything in particular comes to mind as to whats wrong with my shoulder. Any suggestions and id be grateful. PS i'm probably going to have to go to a doctor because its rather uncomfortable. Cheers

Could be a number of things. Did you injure your shoulder in any way before doing this (ie: pulled muscle, tweaked something, etc)? There's also a chance that you might not be properly protracting/retracting the shoulders before each rep. This can make a big difference and can take a while before finally forming the brain body connection.

Should I be doing these all when having a slap tear? Had it for 2 years now and for the last 6 months ive been able to lift again. Now I did some pullups and shoulder presses and I'm hurting again. Avoiding these and only doing landmines. also adding deadlifts to the mix again.

It happens every single time i rotate externally, im also beginning to notice that the middle delt on my left shoulder (where the clicking is) is significantly smaller than my other shoulder

I've found these helpful too. Greetings Brother , 300 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooo much , no brother , how you even manage that For example I do 14 sets for chest per week 7 on Monday and 7 on Friday You don't need this amount of work

@@bevictorious3776 I have Two training session in a day 6 days a week. For example 360 reps of Power Clean+Squat complex. I do it every day. And, 300 reps for chest press (every day)

@@nishantthakur4134 man that's too much , your nervous system needs to heal , training twice a day , 2 times a day , is so draining for the body , I train once a day 5 times a week Monday : push Tuesday : pull Wednesday : Rest Thursday : Legs & Core Friday : Push Saturday : Pull Sunday : Rest

Just to make this a little easier for people following along: 5-8 reps per exercise. Remember to retract and engage shoulders before each rep for every exercise. Exercise 1: 2:30 High Row + Shoulder Retraction. Heavier bands at eye level facing towards the wall. Shoulders must be fully retracted before finishing the row. Exercise 2: 2:36 Reverse Fly + Shoulder Retraction. Lighter bands at eye level facing towards the wall. Exercise 3: 2:42 Downward Pull. Heavy bands at eye level facing towards the wall. Exercise 4: 2:56 90 Degree Shoulder External Rotation. Light bands at knee height facing towards the wall. Remember to keep arms in 90 degree position throughout movement. Exercise 5: 3:05 Shoulder Flexion/Abduction Hybrid. Light bands at knee height facing away from the wall. Keep elbows extended and bring hands to about head height. Exercise 6: 3:16 Modified Shoulder Protraction. Heavy bands at knee height facing away from the wall. Perform a chest stretch, press out and up, then protract the shoulders at the end of the movement. Exercise 7: 3:32 Victory Pose. Light bands at knee height facing towards the wall. Keep elbows extended and hold for 1-2 seconds at the top of the exercise.
