The breakout was the first car I used when I started the game. Not knowing anything about hitboxes, I just chose it because it looked cool. Now a couple years later, I mostly use octane/fennec, but I'll go back to the breakout for some fun every once in a while. Also great vids on this channel, can't wait to see where it goes from here!

Just want to say these videos are brilliant - Haven't really seen content like this for Rocket League. I do want to mention a few cars that actually match the width of their hitbox, making precision corner hits a lot easier. Samurai = Breakout, Nomad = Merc, Vulcan = Octane, Insidio = Hybrid. Perhaps an idea for a future non-meta video? Keep up the good work!

This was my first main car. I tried the masamune for a bit because cars were unique at the time, and then I dabbled with some other cars that I like the look of until I've settled on the diestro (have the most playtime on). I'm considering going back to breakout or trying out some other cars.

Handling doesn’t affect aerial performance Also handling isn’t a flat line. Octane has the best handling on the ground for the first (roundabout 90 degrees or so) and only then gets overtaken by the other cars

I have used breakout For 1200+ hours now and whenever I switch to octane or fennec and dribble, it feels like the ball is glued to my car. Although I don't know how accurate your power calculations are because I feel like I can shoot much more accurately and powerfully on breakout than octane. Could be an issue of practice tho

Spot on about the Breakout, I agree. You seem to have reached the same conclusions as myself via the same methods. I did use the Breakout when I was stuck in Diamond and needed to up my aerial car control. The softer touches on the ball create a more forgiving learning curve that can eventually be translated to the squarer hitboxes. Much like how the breakout is great specifically for aerial ball control practice, the Dominus is great for early ground dribbling practice. One thing about the breakout, is that it has some nice car designs for its hitbox, although I find it crazy that the F1 car designs didn't classify as breakout and instead were Dominus. I suspect marketing data and licensing deals to maximise sale potential. The breakout however sucks at 50's against the popular Octane hitbox, has poor under-steering at higher speeds and weak power generation on standard shots, as you covered in your video :).
