Dale, repeat ofter me. I AM a boot Addict. I surrender my will to a higher power.... lol Have you began your 12 Step Program? We admitted we were powerless over buying boots-that our lives had become unmanageable. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. We're entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to boot alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. All that being said what is the next pair you plan to buy?

I have 3 grant stones, an oxford, 1 diesel boot in kudu and 1 brass boot. Their build quality, feel and comfort is amazing. The only thing is that I avoid their leather soled shoes like the oxfords as the toe wore out before I even broke the shoes in, and I resoled it in vibram rubber. I might walk weird but the leather soles definitely are a little too delicate for pavement. Excellent customer service though and they actually gave me the cost of the resole’s worth of money in gift cards. Excellent!

Mr. Redacted and I have some very similar sentiments about boots. If I’m not proud of where my things are coming from and how they’re made I don’t want to wear them. I’m at 50-60 now and shrinking, but including old pairs that are retired or too small.

I’m going to get roasted for this, but…there is a boot brand you’ll only find in malls called FreeBird (after the Lynrd Skynrd song.) The model is the Easton and I have a pair. They’re made in León so lack of design or craftsmanship, but I guess the only criticism I have is that they’re not going to last as long as all the other offerings previously mentioned by the other leather nerds here. They do look cool though!

You guys want to hike up a mountain, come visit. I’m surrounded by them. I could use the help cutting wood and doing work around the place, 40 acres requires a bit of attention. I love all of Dales boots, but to be honest, I’m much more comfortable wearing Danners or other brands I don’t mind beating up. I hit a pair of 1000 mile with my chainsaw and the boots lost.

To say he has a fetish for boots is an understatement. I am that way with musical instruments. You are missing out not wearing an 8" high boot. The boot literally cannot move around, rub, be uncomfortable. If you have to run or walk 20miles you will wish you had an 8" boot. I must be very simple. I have some Allen Edmonds Patton cap toe boots for dress. For every day, work, hunting, concrete work, is is the Red Wind 8" moc toe.
@nafis66683 жыл бұрын
I concur, thats why my most worn boots are 8 inches tall, gusseted to the top. The shaft height also nicely hide the knot up under the pants , creating tidier look when I'm walking or sitting.

As boot lovers, don't we have few pairs of boots (even often one pair) that we actually use all the time and we re-sole when needed? Isn't it the whole point of good leather shoes?
@ryancockrel69473 жыл бұрын
This was the idea when I first got more into it, but I just ended up wanting some variety. I have half a dozen pairs I like a lot now, but 3 of those only get worn a few times a year. The other 3 I have actually resoled once each. I just can't be that minimalist. The love is too strong.
@Stridewise3 жыл бұрын
you'd think so but there are plenty of guys who like boots so much they just... buy more
@strengthandbulkMadness3 жыл бұрын
Different colors and variety is my reason but I think around 20 pairs is enough. A good mix of heritage, work, Chelsea, western, and engineer starts to add up quick.
@vianouche13 жыл бұрын
@@Stridewise I see that but why putting a light on those and not on the real ones that work during years on one pair of boots? That guy you interviewed in this video has superficial knowledge of the multiples boots he has because he ended up not really wearing them.
@vianouche13 жыл бұрын
@@strengthandbulkMadness I would even say that 10 is more than enough but I see what you mean. Still with 20 I wonder if you have time to wear them all and appreciate them? 🙃 I feel that life is too short to even properly age one pair of boots, so imagine those 75... this is ridiculous.
