Before I saw that interview on Diary of a CEO I had no idea who Dr. Barnard was. After watching it, and along with my overall frustration of being overweight and unhealthy, I started a WF plant based diet cold turkey 7 weeks ago. As of today I’ve lost 17 pounds and can’t imagine going back. I can’t even explain how good I feel and how easy it can be. I have to thank Dr. Barnard for challenging everyone to “just try it for three weeks and see how you feel”. I took that challenge and am so glad I did. My friends and family all thought I was crazy but I literally knew in the middle of week two that I was not going back to my old eating habits. That’s how fast I saw and felt results. None of this would have happened without that interview. When I noticed it was gone it really ticked me off. Seriously, Diary of a CEO? Over a discussion of the Vegan diet in 2024?! Do better!

I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. @@polibm6510 From what I see online, it's the meat eaters that get most emotional over this, and most likely to resort to throwing around personal insults. Veganism-promoting scientists all seem totally chilled, kind and respectful. And they also not only follow the science but a lot of them actually DO the science, not what they want the science to be. The reason for the militant carnivores behaviour is obvious, given that the ethical and environmental case for going vegan is obvious and indisputable, optimising health is the only argument the carnivores have, so they can't go where the science is going because that would mean they would have to give up meat. And they don't want to, because it's so damn tasty and because they have built up lucrative careers from telling people what they want to hear. I used to listen to them. I get it. I was eating paleo diet for 15 years for health reasons alone. Now been vegan for a week and will never go back. It's been a much easier adjustment than going paleo was. And much cheaper too (I was eating grass fed/pastured only).

As big business starts switching into plant based foods, I have watched the quality of those foods go down. Plant milks now are loaded with inflammatory ingredients like carrageenan. Make your own plant milks, soak the nuts, drain and blend with fresh water for a delicious homemade plant milk. We need to take control of our foods, we can no longer look for convenience, because being sick is not convenient it will suck up all your time trying to get well.

Dr. McDougall and Dr. Milton Mills have alot of videos about type 1 diabetes being CAUSED BY MILK in young kids! The cow proteins seep thru the intestinal wall into the bloodstream of a human, the human sees cow proteins as an invasion, so the body creates antibodies to help fight the cow proteins. Problem is the cow proteins are molecularly similar to the pancreas cells, so the body starts attacking the pancreas thru molecular mimicry. Watch the videos, if u can't find them, I'll post them here. I'd cut the dairy for sure. Also reg your Lupus, did you know Dr. Brooke Goldner healed herself from Lupus? I must have a very strange brain. I never liked the taste of alcohol, meat, fish, eggs, cow milk, cheese, belgian fries. I went vegetarian when I was 16 and in boarding school, and vegan at 21. I was honestly relieved to never have to eat cheese or anything with it ever again. More than 4 decades vegan now, best decision of my life, next to being childfree.

I have to think the massive increase in colorectal cancer is being caused by the keto and adkins and paleo diets the past 10 years and the dramatic increase in meat being consumed. I wish those cancer patients had their diets deeply evaluated and statistically analyzed.

The cost to humans is enormous, the cost to the planet is gigantic, but the cost to the innocent animals who are murdered for no reason, other than money and greed is bigger than all the rest combined. Imagine unbridled greed on one side and blind ignorance on the other. We must change this for our health, for the planet and for the animals. There’s nothing good about devouring corpses and cadavers. There’s nothing good about being lied to and manipulated by the meat, dairy, eggs and fishing industries.

this is definitely a game-changing interview. I really couldn't answer people's questions about why their blood tests do worse right when they go plant-based and which specific foods are causing it - so I'm glad Dr. Barnard is super straightforward and easy to understand. I love his interviews best - because he is very clear, enthusiastic, and really is there! Now I know which video to send people to - thanks!! This is was the only question I would get stumped on - not anymore!

I saw the video as soon as CEO aired it and just raved about what a great interview it was, meanwhile Diary of CEO's podcast listeners went completely ballistic about it, that it was too "over the top" nutrition advice. I told CEO in the comments how it was fascinating how his podcast listeners practically jizzed all over the Bryan Johnson interview but freaked out at Dr Barnard when all Dr Barnard was doing was recommending the exact WFPB vegan diet that Bryan Johnson uses in his Blue Print protocol. How can these people NOT MAKE THAT CONNECTION?? WFPB vegan is THE diet for the planet and for human LONGEVITY. I get so enraged with their stupidity.

In time I've come to see the healthcare industry just like I see the meat industry: completely biased and highly damaging even to its own people, still, here's a man from the healthcare industry being such a valid exception. Thank you dr. Neal Barnard, you're a light into the doom of the medical abyss.

My mother's doctor told her she was "cured" of her diabetes and she went right back to her [food] addiction. I recently made the full change to WFPB and it was giving up the cheese that has made all the difference. After watching this interview, I cannot believe I ate cheese for so long.

Seeing how other industries (oil and gas, pharma, drugs (yes, this is also industry per se), guns, manufacturing, Boeing, etc etc) treating their customers and environment, why food industry should be different. Their goal is profit, not the health of the customer. That's life. But it does not mean that we have to stay silent or ignorant and keep poisoning ourselves.
