I understand the out-of-universe implications, but if the move is banned within the rules of the kayfabe environment, there should be an in-universe justification for it. The piledriver's kayfabe justification for being banned was that dropping someone directly on the top of their head was too dangerous, so it became an illegal hold. I can see a similar justification for the Destroyer, but I can't think of a logical in-universe reason for a Superkick to be banned, or for a Tope Suicida to be banned while other, way more dangerous inside-to-outside dives are legal.
@rustlerv6549
@rustlerv6549 2 жыл бұрын
You misunderstand, he doesn't want to ban them, there should just be a rule that is unspoken that you simply just don't do them unless it's your finisher maybe stop doing it. If you remove the boring through the rope suicide dives people will actually be interested to see how a performer gets from the ring to the out because these stupid inexperienced wrestlers have to wait on the outside for it to happen. As for Superkicks and destroyers come on, Thia Wednesday go and watch dynamite and you'll see why

@@rustlerv6549 Yes, I said I do understand why in a shoot, out of universe context, because the moves are overused. Which you could make up for the Canadian Destroyer pretty easily, but he other two a bit harder to make an explanation for that makes sense in-universe.

Nothing new here just a return to old school wrestling 101 mindset where big moves/wow moments are kept for when it actually has meaning instead of just breaking out every major move in every match no matter what the occasion,leaving nothing for those special ppv or defining match spots,Canadian destroyer/destroyer is a truly special move that is now reduced to a regular spot as is the same with a lot of former high spot moves,if your going through a table every match or jumping off a ladder then it does make it common place and takes away it's shine
@Crunch_Carter
@Crunch_Carter 2 жыл бұрын
I agree to certain extents. The Canadian destroyer to me definitely shouldn’t be used as much as it is now and it should definitely only be used as a devastating finisher. I also hate how overused superkicks are and it’s probably my bias to Shawn Micheals and why I dislike the young bucks so much. The super kick should be a special move used to finish matches or to set up your finisher, but for me moves like the DDT aren’t worth finishing a match with. Same with powerbombs unless the one doing it has a special flair to it that helps it look cooler and seem more devastating. We just have to find a fine line with overused moves and which ones should be gatekept and which ones can stay being used the same as they are now.

With WWE we get virtually no wrestling, but when we get it the matches aren't half bad, they are usually pretty good, but it's the bad creative that's keeping the promotion down. AEW has too much wrestling, too many wrestlers, and not enough wit to get done what they want done. AEW has something very special going on, but nothing is being utilized correctly besides MJF. There needs to be a happy medium between the 2. CYN could be that medium, but they need the money for it like the other 2 promotions.

The only Sammy Guevara matches and crazy spots I really remember are the ones with Cody because - say what you will about his ego - he knows how to pace a match and give things meanings. I can’t remember any of his 4930 flips through tables from week to week

@@chriskanuga9460 spot on bad bunny is a celeb nobody expected it...the shit in AEW is generic wrestlers with nothing but the ability to do flips...i also get that they have too many factions but the roster is overcrowded and they only have so much time...all i know is AEW is just as imperfect as WWE is...which is frustrating because i feel AEW has so much potential and they actually put effort but they are too stubborn to stop doing indie garbage

That's just how wrestling is. Moves that used to be a big deal get watered down years later. Another move that used to be a finish but is used casually now is the DDT. Its actually been nerfed for a long time and nobody ever talks about it.

100% of protecting moves and make the wrestlers be more creative and diverse with their move sets. At lot of wrestlers having the same signature moves.

Move inflation is the natural result of wrestlers trying to outdo each other, and the fact that the typical wrestler is now an athletic cruiserweight, rather than barely mobile behemoths of the 1980's. It is difficult to make an 80's style match look 'cool' when compared to a modern indy/lucha style match. Rather, the old style match will feel low-impact and lazy, because it is. Basically, you are expecting people to be impressed with relatively short, lazy, low-impact matches.

Some moves are definitely overused and those three are definitely one of them, Canadian Destroyer is especially unfortunate given how new it is. In such a short time we have had a Piledriver be used in such an interesting way by damn near everyone. Superkick is overused but I think that’s mainly because if you can lift your leg then you can probably do a Superkick. The Middle Rope Dive is also used by everyone because it’s likely easier to go though the middle rope then try to leap over the top rope.

The only move I dislike is the Tope Suicida because 90% of wrestlers make that move look so weak, but there is a way to do that move very well (i.e Darby who just throws himself at people)

This is a good point at the end the wwe should have protected the end of days, Corbins finish. They made a point to talk about nobody kicking out of it then just to have someone do it like three weeks after lol

Cool moves are not watered down. Its just about having wrestlers that use psychology to make the match fun and believable. In the world of wrestling nothing is watered down, it just about how you write it

I remember when they originally said those moves were banned and how up in arms people got. The whole time I'm thinking the same thing he said about using them behind the refs backs. There's nothing wrong with wanting to protect moves either, as what he said about the finish between him and Penta. Which brings me to my final point that fans are SO QUICK to judge things before they actually play out. Imagine watching a Star Wars movie and halfway through deciding you're just going to leave the theatre. Same concept to me.

Thing about all these moves that were once Finishing moves back in the day, That everybody does now, NO F@#ker sells them...they get hit by one move,then there back up 2mins later as if nothing happened...to hit there so call big move... Ricky Steamboat would sell,throughout the entire match..even if it was a simple move.
