Electric vehicles are increasing on the Nigerian road. it is estimated that In 10 years, 50% of electric cars on Nigerian roads will be produced locally.
Under its Electric Vehicle pilot program, The NADDC is collaborating with the stallion motors, development partners such as the European Union, and other stakeholders to roll out
100 percent solar-powered EV charging station.
3 stations are to be built in Lagos state University, which has been complected and launched, Usman Danfodio University Sokoto which has been launched as well and the University of Nigeria NNsukka, which is still under contruction.
The charging station was strategically located in the University, so as to provide access to Research and Development for students who will be looking to understudy and improve on the system.
Similarly a lot of Nigerians have been building different electric vehicle across the country
