There's one thing you guys don't mention when it comes to Etsy Ads. While I'm all for Etsy ads, the fact is that you need a minimum listing price of about $13 assuming a CPC of about 25 cents. At this price a listing would pay for the cost of the ad (i.e. generate an ROAS = 1.0) ... IF ... your conversion rate is about 2%. If, it a price of $13, you're not generating a sales conversion rate of at least 2%, then you are loosing money on ads. Also, as your listing price goes lower and lower below $13, you will need to generate a higher and higher sales conversion rate. So a price of $6.50 for example, will need to generate a conversion rate of almost 4% ... JUST to pay for the ads before you pay for any other expenses. Given that a "good" conversion rate is 2%, it means that Ads really don't pay off for lower priced listing. This is something nobody talks about and one of the reasons some people may be failing at ads. Something to talk about in a future video??

Wow thank you so much for this comment! I have a digital product I was working on and it has some competition and I was wondering if ads would be worth it... The price of the product would be around $16 so it looks like I could do ads... Tell me, do you think if I turn off the ads after 2 months that organic sales would take over or would sales just tank?

@@kendals3833 If you get high enough conversion rate, like over 3%, it might rank high enough in organic search to do well without ads. If you don't rank high for a competitive product, people won't see it and you'll get no views.

About half of my sales have not left reviews, even after asking nicely with a reminder when they receive the item to make sure they're happy. Many people don't bother responding to messages.

The interesting thing that my Etsy ads doesn’t bring lots of sales but I am getting organic sales when my Etsy ads is on. When it’s OFF - almost nothing.

@@brandcreators yes, the click through rate on ads is 1.4-2.4%. I opened this shop a month ago, so I don’t expect much from it. And the demand isn’t that high yet.

@@brandcreators i also suffer from kinda of the same problem,, i get a huge boost on algoritm when i have etsy ads on, on the products im not adversiting but in the product im advertising i get almost no views at all even though i aim for a big range of audience, so i just have them on 1$ and abuse the algoritm effect on my store therefore i have a bigger ROI without using money at all

Or, are you getting sales on the things you are NOT running ads on? Half the time I run ads, if I make a sale during that time, it's because the ad item brought them into my shop and they were interested enough to look around. NOW, if we could get Etsy to STOP SHOWING OTHER SHOPS! Especially when they do not offer what I do (same niche, but different (cheap) fibers).

@@ecouturehandmades5166 I have sales from ads but yes, you're right: when the customer click the ad, Etsy makes a suggestion to buy another items from the shop to qualify for a free shipping. This works great when you don't have 100 of listings.

I've been on etsy for 10+ yrs, been running ads for $30/day for a couple weeks and it's only spending about $3-$6 a day on clicks, views are also down about 50% from last year, would you advise to go up on the budget or could make that it worse? Turn off the ads completely? Competition seems to be doing great. Not sure what's going on?

I've tried a lot of different methods. It seems to me that the algorithm is always changing. There would be times that Im getting consistent back to back organic sales and times with no sales for weeks. Very odd to me how things work.

Phonecases are not a niche, but a product. A niche would be 'dog lovers'.

SO sorry to ask a question off topic but I am spinning my wheels. I am setting up the email funnel as you have talked about. 👍 I know I need to offer an incentive that will actually be effective. I am using a deeper discount than what I run in my store. Question: If the discount is sent out to everyone that subscribes, how do I prevent them from using it more than once? It will be close to a break even discount so I cannot afford to have people use it more that the one time. Thanks so much for EVERYTHING! Bev from Milwaukee.

You actually can’t stop them from using it more than once. That’s what sucks about Etsy’s coupon system. It’s an easy upgrade but Etsy refuses to change.

Personally I don't actually tell my customers what the coupon code is. I dont know what your email funnel process is but personally I use ConvertKit and I make the "confirm subscription" button a link back to my shop with the coupon code already applied, using my Share&Save link. They may still see the code name somewhere but so far no one has used it more than once, and if ever they do I'm hoping they do it using the same email link

If you're not getting views it's probably due to the keywords being used and not having much demand.

I used to make a living on etsy. People have no more money due to the war in ukraine. That,s the real reason i don't sell. They favorit my shop and put my items in their carts, but no money to complete the salel.

Or......It could be that ETSY puts you in front of the wrong customer. ETSY doesn't care if you make a sale or not so it will spend your money regardless. You cannot target who ETSY puts you in front of. The Algorithm just spends your budget.
