Euphoria isn't the best diss track of all time but I believe it's one of the best chess moves I've seen in a long time. (Disclaimer) I am not paid by either side these are genuinely MY OPINIONS. #rap #hiphop #kendricklamar #drake

The only thing you got wrong in this video is where the reversed audio is from in the beginning of the track. It’s not from euphoria. It’s from a 1978 reimagining of The Wizard of Oz called The Wiz. The reversed audio is a line from Richard Pryor who plays as the supposed Wiz saying, “Everything they say about me is true. I’m a phony.” And to add another layer to this reference, Michael Jackson is in this movie as The Scarecrow who’s hoping The Wiz will give him a brain. This ties into the whole narrative of Drake comparing himself to Michael Jackson.

Dropped at 8:24am Tuesday tribute to Kobe. Also learned the intro beat Teddy Pendergrass’ “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration” was sampled on the track. Without giving away too much, he briefly described Pendergrass’ situation. “Teddy Pendergrass got into a car accident and had to live the rest of his life paralyzed in a wheelchair,”

This Diss is incredible and layered. Kendrick attacks Drake from multiple angles using themes: 1. Starting with the title: Euphoria, you're on a high and you need to come down. Also, Drake is the exec producer of the HBO show which glamorizes Teenage/underage sex. 2. Richard Pryor as the Wiz admitting to being a phony and Michael Jackson plays the scarecrow in which the scarecrow hopes the Wiz will give him a brain. (Drake is a chameleon, mimics accents, takes from Atlanta artists, steal from other genres without giving credit, uses ghostwriters) 3. Teddy Pendergrass Sample: Grown man music playing while talking to the boy, also Teddy Pendergrass was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life after an accident(Drake was known as wheelchair Jimmy {Actor}) Its so much in this diss. I hope what's the dirt catches everything . Kendrick does not like this man. It's on.

That classics line is actually crazy. So allegedly on Drakes take care album half of those songs were originally made by the weekend when he was supposed to sign to Drake. So when Kendrick says "Let your core audience stomach that then tell them we're you got your ABS from". Abs being a shortened form of ALBUMS. He saying if we find out who really wrote most of his best work we might have to stomach the fact that Drake doesn't actually have classics made by him. He's alluding to more of his music being ghost writing than we would want to believe. And even my first listen when He said he don't have no classis I was like "He at least got 1 😂" and I was thinking of take care. So with people having reactions like that, if we found out this allegation was true, It would truly be hard to stomach not just as a Drake fan, but as anyone whose ever enjoyed his music.

Drake has no “red button” to push. I believe we’ve heard the best version of Drake vs Dot that he can do. He’s too predictable. Kendrick is playing with his food before he eats it... Sort of like a cat does a mouse when he finally catches it.. he wants Drake to try to fight back so it's apparent how powerless he is win the haymaker comes.. Drake came out throwing feints, Kendrick came out throwing jabs, he hasn't even threw a straight/cross yet

small but brilliant chess move was telling the audience there's static in the audio, will Drake say the n-word in his next diss? it's going to stick out like a sore thumb

Drake is spending too much time on social media to still be Media illiterate. I can't believe he misunderstood "mother i sober ' 3 days after Kendrick said he'll use the mr morale album for dirt on Kendrick. Wtf is with dude?!

I feel like Drake was hoping Kendrick would instantly go all out and drop a nuke. Kendrick not showing all his cards yet is smart, because now Drake doesn't know what he has in store. Btw great video! Loving the longer content

“‘euphoria’ temporarily crashed the Genius website as fans rushed to decipher the lyrics. And there's a lot to pick through here. Clocking in at 6:23 with two distinct sections, the song finds Kendrick getting progressively angrier and more vitriolic as he goes. In the first section, he deploys a low-key flow over a soulful, laid-back beat and accuses Drake of making lightweight music.” - Genius

I know music is subjective but Euphoria is a better track to listen to. I liked Push Ups when it dropped but really can’t go back to it. Beat is boring and Drake’s rapping is monotone. Kendrick’s euphoria is hype and quotable. Also always going back to learn something new with his word play and hidden meanings. Went to a Club one night they played Push Ups and it was dead. They played Like That the room was lit with people singing. Feel the same will happen with Euphoria.
