I've met him. He's the nicest ball player I've met, and I've met a lot of them in my nearly 5 decades. I've also seen him interact with dozens of people, and he treated them all the same.

He won 2 world series 1979 Pittsburgh pirates and 1987 Minnesota Twins and thrown a no hitter with the Cleveland Indians vs Toronto Blue Jays.

That was Len Barker who threw a perfect game with the Indians against Toronto

CLICK BAIT. What did his teammates say?????? Nothing!!!!
@BruceClarke-m7hАй бұрын
That was a good recap of Bert's career and a pretty nice video 'Baseball Icons'! Extremely cheesey click bait though - "teammates just revealed..." What B.S.!

Bert Blyleven has a total wins/loss decision count of almost 550 games; find more pitchers with that kind of durability ? Just because he spoke his mind he got a bad reputation, but it was more towards the owners much more than he ever did towards the fans. As a Pirates fan in Pittsburgh, we could not have been more than happy to have him on the team. He was a major wheel in the 1979 Championship, which was one of the greatest teams of all time; he made it greater. I followed his whole career and he certainly is a Hall of Famer !!

I love this speaker. He seems so knowledgeable for the pace which he speaks. I'm guessing he's handsome, too. I'd like to ask him how does one "set major league records (yes, plural) for most home runs allowed" ?
@KarlketolaАй бұрын
Saying people hate Bert Blyleven?? That doesn't bear out in the video. I hearby accuse you of clickbate. STOP IT!!!!!

In a country that values free speech, his prickly personality and blunt comments should be irrelevant.

Not the case for Schilling unfortunately.

@justinkantner7162 no one took away CSs right to free speech Maga Moron. It's that with our free speech we can respond by telling him what a POS he is.
