i'm grateful you brought this up ! tho i feel like it can be real easy for newer members of this community to couch themselves in the lingo, get comfy, and not move from it at all. i know a lot of ppl here who get kinda creeped out if you overload your sentences with furryspeak, so i've learned not to use it. and to be truthful, i think for a lot of furries, you can tell (or at least folks love to assume) what kinda person someone is and what kinda cliques they run with by the way they write and their word choices. whether they're more selfless or cynical. whether they sound like a caring mom or a love-hungry teen. also wanna remind folks that uwu did not originate in the furry community! it comes from anime fans

I think keeping that balance of using furry-specific language when appropriate and talking normally to another person is key, you can definitely overdo it with the furry talk and it gets old really fast.

The concept of practically speaking another language when engaging with specific people is so interesting to me, but it makes perfect sense. Like when I listen to my dad on a work call(he works in cyber security) I have no idea what he's talking about, but he also probably has no clue what I mean when I say something like "Oh, just open a layer above your flatcolor and set it to multiply. Oh and make sure to set your selection layer so your crosshatching doesn't go outsidide your lineart." To anyone who's not into art, specifically digital art, they'd probably have no clue what I'm saying, and thats so cool to me ^^

If you want something that is really confusing try being a turck driver and trying to tell a cop what the product is on your bill of lading. A bill of lading is the paperwork that says what is in the trailer, where it came from, where it's going, and if it's hazmat.

That's an unusual code review process where the reviewer pushes the change instead of the submitter. In our shop this is generally only reserved for 3P submissions.

My role at my company requires me to write code to multiple codebases owned by multiple teams. About half of them have the reviewer push changes and the other half the submitter does it. I guess it depends on the organization.

Also, thank you for insisting on using PUT over POST, it usually doesn't matter, but for our software it actually does (my comment was meant more of a joke, ignoring the purpose of video and nit picking on an example)

Oh that was only half a joke haha, that was a real conversation I had when I was a junior engineer. I thought it didn't matter either but didn't realize that PUT is idempotent and POST is not, which would have made a huge difference in the database I was writing an API for.

I don't change the way I speak in or out of the fandom. I have characters, not fursonas. I have a costume in production, not a fursuit, it's a realistic chimera type. More fitting in a Halloween setting.

Trying to speak Panzerish, is impossible for people, but the Panzer Soundcard Version 1+ can, and i use Soundcard Version 19 Jäger Edition, The version able to translate slang, and has Warning systems.

Oh yeah I am also into real trains and model trains and two terms switch and or turnout means the same and it's an track section that connects to other track sections. It's the only way for an train to change tracks since rails guide the wheels of the train. Also the car that cooks and serves food in older passanger trains ( The Diner Car ) had unique lingo like blanket the headlight means egg sunny side down. Also going to get beans is railroad lingo for time for an meal brake for the railroad crew and tie up the train in town on the siding then go to find an place to eat. =^.^=

Imagine trying to not know fighting game lingo and listing to a match. Landing a meaty DP so they can combo into footsies and not give up their turn as this transfers from the neutral to the wall for enough hits to get sixty-two percent. That entire sentence is utterly nonsensical without context, unlike furry lingo you likely can not even construct a meaning even putting thought into it. He landed a meat-based Docter Pepper with a foot-long hot dog as he went from feeling all right to totally stuffed and barely ate half his food is a perfectly good guess for what that means when it actually means landing a well-timed uppercut special so that the player will not be able to react going from about the middle of the playing field to the edge and lose over half their life.

To be honest, I find some of furry lingo offputting/overwhelming, especially the overly "uwu" stuff. I only really use the necessary words, like fursona, fursuit, ref sheet, etc. This is a pretty interesting and informative video about the topic, though!
