After a certain point any one not Goku, is just there for window dressing. I mean we had Gohan for Cell, and that was about it. It's a real shame too, with all the time showing other characters training and getting stronger, there could have been a constant struggle for who was the best at any given time, but w/e. Also Uub being the strongest human always felt like a bit of a cheat just being born that way, because reincarnated Buu, somehow Goku just hoping for it, made it happen, and like instantly.

My God, this was as disappointing/entertaining as Piccolo in DBZ, fusing with Nail during the Frieza Saga. He barely laid any real damage to any of Frieza’s forms (2nd to final form, non full power obviously)…. It built up suspense so rightfully, only to be disappointed… However, that’s on a whole different ball park for Piccolo, so we can’t use that as a sole comparison of course. Now, had DBGT done justice to Majuub (Buub, heheh), like where Piccolo in DBZ (already fused with Nail during Frieza Saga) fused with Kami, and then basically spars on point with Android 17 (which were basically at the max of most of the strongest Z Fighters at that point). Now, THAT is how plot justice should he served.

as some one who enjoyed gt alot, its definitely flawed and this is one of the flaws that bothers me the most. i would love to see Gohan take on Uub as a mentor figure while also training pan. maybe gohan wouldnt be into it at first but would ultimately feel its his responsibility now that goku is gone to train the next generation. Gohan could perhaps be convinced by a with great power comes great responsibility speech from piccolo. i would also like to see vegeta challenge gohan. vegeta is no longet obsessed with beating goku but seeing gohan pull back out some of his potential vegeta wpuld want to test that potential and test himself against it and so finally wed get some much neglected interactions and action between the best characters in my opinion.

How to fix Uub IMO Part 1 (which is also a fix to the 1st arc) give some earth based episodes or scenes (with Piccolo, Uub, Goten etc) to give some breaks from Goku space adventures. Part 2 Don’t make him weak during the Super 17 arc (Uub did one shot Rildo but that’s it) Part 3 Let Uub along with Gohan, Gotenks etc help during the shadow dragons arc & play a more important role in the final arc overall.

The truth is Uub was being used to make Goku stronger. Vegeta said as much. It wasn't about protecting the Earth; Goku had ulterior motives. Uub wasn't meant to replace Goku as the new main protector of Earth he was just a disciple/training partner. He did have his shot with Baby Vegeta, and did well, but he failed. After that, Goku just pulled so far ahead of everyone no one else compared. And even though people don't like to admit it, GT is largely about ending Goku's story. Some people call it Goku Time, but honestly it's been Goku Time since the Buu Saga.
