Long as the rabid diehard "fans" remain in the communities of hololive and nijisanji; I doubt there'll be any kind of legit collabs taking place. When you got people who treat their streamers as living idols too pure to be tainted by outside forces and go far as to outwardly harass other vtubers for "butting in" on a pretend date stream, it's no surprise they don't want to risk their talents being put through a PR nightmare due to angry, toxic asf fans trying to screw up the streams and the likes.

Your usual collab beggars are just tourist who don't really watch much of you anyway or some anti pretending to be a fan looking for opportunity to cause some troubles. While your usual collab blocking people are your own fans, who spend an absurd amount of money on you expecting you to do their bidding and when you don't listen to them, they become anti.

Thank you for using my clips in the video, and here is a little extra observations I'd like to provide. While the EN's branches void of collabs is the most apparent, it's also been noticeable that even in the JP branches, external collabs(Nijisanji or otherwise) with Holo also had gone way down after the Taiwan incident. While some pairs certainly are still good friends with each other on stream (Tokomachi, Haachama and Hoshikawa, Okayu and Shiina), some who used to be very close on stream also suddenly ceased despite some having promised more collabs(MaiSuba, Matsuri and Yashiro, Korone and Flare with Debi, Marine and Hayase). Like on the EN side, some can still drop tidbits that the talents themselves are on good term (Marine cameo'd as Pikachu voice on Hayase's 3D reveal). But otherwise, Hololive's interaction with the outside had just gone down significantly, since Inuyama Tamaki also had fans asking question why all the Hololive collabs suddenly disappeared. The answer Tamaki gave was that Hololive members are very busy, and yes looking at their schedules this is true to an extent, but this was seasonal as they also showed that "off-season" when there aren't any upcoming concerts, they have significantly much more free time, so it is dubious to think that this "busy" reason would be year-round. Not to mention the fact that some members can freely just drop a 12-hour guerilla stream out of nowhere seems to indicate schedules aren't really a concern. It is extra noticeable since to this day, Hololive gen 5 and 6 barely had any collabs with anyone outside Holopro, while at the same time Holostars external collabs continue happen on a weekly basis. Though at least this looks to be improving with Tamaki's recent collabs with Lui, Laplus, then one with Aqua after over a year of silence. But like EN, the blame isn't entirely on Hololive. On Mayuzumi Kai's final totsumachi before graduation, Matsuri came on as a guest and Mayuzumi explicitly stated that the 2 companies relationship hasn't been what it used to be. This is while Mayuzumi himself had stated that he left Nijisanji because of their changes in policies. Yeah this is something a lot of people don't understand at least about JP. between 2019 and 2020 a lot of collabs happened but after that, they stopped a lot more and newer talents also didn't collab much either. I remember watching matsuri and yashiro, and matsuri and chaika collabs and those either were deleted or privated. Male-female collabs between hololive and nijisanji pretty much died since 2020. Very few these days do collabs and even those are very sporadic for some like hoshikawa who collab with haachama and matsuri like a few times per year.

In my opinion most of that is a change in direction of both companies because of their realization of their current positions on the marketing and market domination. Most of hololive outside Collab is on their growth phase and currently the management is on the sustainment phase of the company growth. So the moat logical next step is for outside Collab (outside of the vtubing community) like in the anime convention or advertising and product placement industry and most of it is probably direct order of the board (shareholder). The other possibilities that prevents their Collab starting from En is on the legal side (I don't know which jurisdiction their English branch office is or which law, is it on brand, digital advertising or any other law)

i feel the ball is definitely in nijisanji’s court. something in particular that makes me sad is the part about selen. selen has gotten as much attention and love as she has partly because she’s been a pioneer for getting nijisanji to let their EN livers do things they previously weren’t allowed to do/found difficult to do. i know just recently selen talked about zeta on her stream too, saying that she hates how taboo it is to mention streamers from other agencies and such. she’s definitely fighting hard for it even more than she lets on. that’s one of the reasons i love her so much

About the Selen/Zeta clip, what I interpreted from that is not that there's a taboo WITHIN the company about bringing up other agencies since there's been so many incidents in the past proving that this just isn't true (Enna admitting that she's a Deadbeat, Pomu reviewing fan's rooms that were filled with both Niji & Holo merch and more recently expressing interest in collabing with Fauna, Scarle being a regular in Magni's streams, Nina saying she watches Mumei, Fulgur even chatting in a Vesper stream one time, etc.) Selen wanted to help dispel the notion people in the *community* had who think that there's some sort of stigma against it.

For all we know it could be a basic conflict of interest at the management level, like the managers of both companies being related to each other or something like that, nothing major or important in any way, but something that gets in the way of it all. This is sort of like Kanata moving out from Kson's place, not because there was a problem, but to avoid a possible future issue that could get them both in hot water. They're still good friends. it's also like Nux and Vshojo not publicly talking (yet I am certain, occassionally share dumb stories and what not privately, just to keep friendly with each other, as it is. I do know that silvervale still follows Nux on twitter. How do I know this, simple Twitter itself told me. BTW: just keep that kind of stuff to yourselves, it's not our business what they do or don't do. I'm just using it show that behind the scenes things can be very different than what you or I see.

The corporate vtube world is annoying, and sometimes secretive to a fault and I can even understand that it might be a situation where saying somthing would be worse, if it is pollitcal or something. I mean all things considered, even with the rough/sad times along the way I am glad both of these companies exist and are separate. My 2 cent take on it as I've worked for authoring Contracts between companies is that the EN branches still are trying to create/author their collab contracts and it's taking very long because both sides aren't able to agree to each other's terms and conditions. Authoring contracts can take years back and forth between legal departments. Hololive and Nijisanji are huge companies. They probably have a shit tone of paperwork to be completed and authorized before collaboration outside their own talents, not just between each other. This is to protect their intellectual property and their talents.

In my opinion, it's more to the EN and JP branch than the entire branch. ID is more flexible. And I think the reasoning behind this the different culture between them. ID fans is generally more relaxed and just there because they want to watch. Not only that, ID fandom is quite strong against gatekeeping and toxic people. I mean when your country is place rank 1# for the most toxic social media by Microsoft, I think they're pretty strong.

Both or at least one side needs to address this. They're in complete denial if they think people don't realize what's going on or that it will blow over. This has been a clear elephant in the room. Everyone knows it. The longer this stays in place with no transparency, the worse things will get. Ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away; it lets it fester out of control. That said, I've noticed a considerable uptick in Twitter interactions. The talents are replying to each other with significantly more frequency, and Ollie even replied to Ren. Speculation, but they might be trying to erode these barriers gradually. Possibly even doing this of their own accord to try to create an environment where they can get management to drop the ban. Or maybe just to quell rumors of bad blood.

One potential thought I had was it could be a copyright or other IP related issue. Both HoloEN and NijiEN are in an odd position of having creators/content coming from Can, US, AU, and EU with JP parent companies. Compare this to VShojo, who are based in the US (which has broad legal cooperation w/ AU, EU, and Canada for IP laws). One potential scenario could be that the copyrights for NijiEN’s characters somehow make them vulnerable to some kind of loss in another country when appearing on another JP owned liver’s stream. This would also explain why it’s so weirdly targeted (IP laws have a tendency to have very weirdly and paradoxically broad and specific enforcement scenarios). Totally speculation on my part, but maybe someone who understands international copyright better might be able to explain why I’m totally wrong 😅.

The Artist of the model, who still (somehow) have the right on what to do with the model and decide that they don't want their model to be featured in a specific stream, and to prevent what will to look like favoritism, they do the ban as a whole, instead of just for that one talent who's model can't be used in the collab... people have to see the issue from the manager and management's point of view. If you are a manager, are you willing to sacrifice your job and future advancement for a collab that could very likely draw backlash and cause the stock price to dive? Niji En was and still is the key to the Anycolor's stock price, a company worth 30 billion yen. in the latest report, Niji En has the biggest increase in sales and net profit, they doubled their number in just 3 monthes, and count for 1/3 in total, and with a very strong projection for next 6 month. you have to play very safe with that much increase, any bad move can kill the trend for future investment. For Holo, they are not a public company, unlike holo, Niji's price is tracked in real time. A major backlash from its main money source is going to be detrimental. People may ask why ID can collab, if you read the report, it is clear, they are too small to have any impact, moreover Anycolor already gave up the ID and KR market, stopped audition in ID and KR, so if all current ID member graduate, there will be no ID. As for JP, same thing, if you have read the reports, JP numbers already stagnated, not so much increase or decrease, the market is basically in standstill; it is bad for the company, but as for the collab with Holo, stagnation meant no impact. Thus, collab with JP, former ID KR is possible, but with EN, not so much, unless same stagnation also appear on EN's financial report, if that the case, the shareholders and management might willing to take some risks to stimulate the price. remember, you are running a company, you are profit oriented, many things are easy to see, all you need to do is to read the report, Anycolor is a public company, by law, they have to open their report, it is open to download for free by anyone.

One of them still has a public IRL presence as a cosplayer and ex-idol, the other used to, even though she has since closed all of her accounts. So it could definitely happen and become a vlog, if they want to raise a middle finger to whoever is banning them to collab in their vtuber personas. Because as long as they don't mention their vtuber persona (such as when saying "me" in Japanese... O NOES) they would not be breaching contract.

But I absolutely love Nijien and I would love to see more collabs between nijien, holo, vshojo, and quite a number of indies.

Honestly I find the last part of what you said is really important and often gets kinda swiped under the rug. I do think that the ban, whoever may be responsible for it, is silly and should be lifted and that the members of both companies who are genuine friends and want to collab one thay. That being said, cases like Kiara and Pomu are the rare exception, not necessarily the rule. Most of the en members do seem to be in good terms but that's about it, in many cases they don't know each other personally and don't really have any history together, so there is little desire for a collab. If we ever get at Pomutori collab, it will be a big W for all sites, but I sincierly hope people wont swarm streamers of both companies with collab demands left and right.

Hey just wanted to clarify something about Kanauru's post getting removed, his post got restored. T-chan made another another comment in the thread you showed in 6:19 in which she says that Kanauru's post got a lot of reports and while she tries to look through all the reports and make judgement calls, she does miss things, she also suspects that it could've be automod that automatically removed it since it got a lot of reports. Also, another thing that T-chan said in that comment is that she doesn't mind being critiqued for her work as a mod because it helps them improve. Problem is the sources have to be asked, EVRYONE else is speculating. We could come up with a thousand reasons and wipe out 99% of them in minutes with evidence presented by reality (for example China/Billibilli - would stop ALL collabs between the companies but there was just one between Ollie and Mita, cursed as that was, that one peice of evidence negates the entire concept of a country or investor getting involved Going through everything, at this point if they're not talking it is probably something sensitive, nothing major but something sensitive nonetheless. And its something that not even the talents know about as Pomu and Kiara worked on their collab for sometime and then it was eventually turned down, with Kiara only saying it doesn't look like it will ever happen (knowing Kiara she would have said more if she could, so she now knows why now but cannot say why)

You know Lyrica? Well, she was a big PH Vtuber before she gruaduated. And apparently she collabed with HoloID Gen 1 frequently. On one of Millie's cooking streams, Moona showed up for a bit and Millie was ecstatic to see her. Most of her audience were surprised that they know each other, but some weren't. And if you can find any of Lyrica's old clips and compare her voice to Millie's you can see where I'm getting at.

Millie has appeared on many Hololive streams, just before she was Millie. Before Gen 2 debuted, anytime HoloID played a 4 player game she'd be called in to fill the open slot. Millie and Moona have been friends a long time. Moona even gave her an invitation for HoloID Gen 2, meaning she was nearly guaranteed a spot if she applied. But Millie chose not to apply because she felt as a PH she wouldn't be able to represent ID well unless Hololive changed the ID branch to HoloSEA for all of Southeast Asia. It probably is the China thing. One entity has decided to cater to China, the way Hollywood used to before they realized it was counterproductive, so the other entity is situating themselves as the ones who won't kowtow. But surreptitiously, of course, so as not to rile any fanbase. Assuming this is accurate, management wouldn't have any need to tell any of the staff why the ban is in place, so it would be quite probable that no Hololive members know for certain themselves. Which itself is believable, because if any of them really had a good idea of the reasoning, that would almost certainly have been strongly hinted at by now.

The fact that the reason cannot be talked about makes it even more obvious. Hololive has been purged from China due to the Coco incident. China-Chinese game publishers explicitly revoked streaming permissions from Hololive talents. Fubuki streams are still targeted by haters to this day. Imagine the possible chaotic backlash that could happen when a Hololive collab happens and it reaches China. This is China we are talking about, where celebrities and companies are harassed for being "traitors", "insensitive", "having ulterior motives" for having spaghetti or doing product launches on the wrong day, writing memorial posts of the Queen on Facebook, not adding a "China/Chinese" prefix to Hong Kong or Taiwan, or not retweeting propaganda posts from state media. The only winning move is not to play.
