Many are saying I'm an idiot for saying that females cannot rape. FYI, I am referring to the LEGAL definition of rape in my country, Singapore. The legal definition of rape according to the penal code is penile penetration of a vagina without a woman's consent (or if female is below 14). Male on male penetration is not called rape, female on male penetration is not called rape. Sodomizing somebody isn't rape either. Just quoting what the law books say. It isn't MY definition so no point getting all pissy at me. And no, I am not wrong. Ok? ok.

Yeah. It's in that law, Singapore law in fact is protecting female more .. and rape in that case is not valid. Female cannot rape male in Singapore is a valid statement. I'm thinking "Seriously girls, u wanna drink w ur just attached bf and make love and waking up to next day they regret and they start to report and say u rape them? Afterall he is a willing party!" Lol... for that... if it's me I will be Super angry, time wasting, love cheating, still have to go police station, got Fcked and yet he came back acting victim .. Gosh.. how can it be valid? Seriously if there's no reaction to pleasure, there wouldn't be penetration and how can it be concluded that as female rape male?" I believe in this event no matter how unwilling, the men have to be at least 20% responsible for that event to happen LOL. But whereby female seriously could be 100% unwilling victim and the rape can still be ongoing. Omg .. lol.. am I going too far? But seriously .. lol... correct me if I'm wrong too. Just a thought to myself :)

it favors women because somebody actually gives a shit when it happens to women, the system does NOT care if it happens to a man, apparently
@TiesOfAffection
@TiesOfAffection 7 жыл бұрын
If they cared when it happened to women then there wouldn't be an incarceration rate of less than 10% for CONVICTED rapists. No, women are regarded as meek and frail and should be "protected" by the oh so strong and stoic men, that's what the MALE lawmakers see the world as. When rape happens to a man, he's seen as emasculated, feminine and weak; something a man should never be. It's not a system that favors women, it's a system that favors an unrealistic image of a man. It hurts both women and men.

I'm very sad that all the 500+ comments are deleted... Some of them were really good, and I wrote long replies to many questions. :( Anyway, I just want to repeat the same point again: This video is targeting MODERN THIRD WAVE FEMINISM - in case that much is not obvious enough. Feminism is still very much needed in shitty third world countries where a lot of women are still being oppressed. I know that. So if you wish to debate anything in this video, kindly only address modern feminism and modern feminist movements. And ps: "You are ignorant, go and read more about feminism you idiot" is not a valid argument.

I remember the day I swore off 3rd wave feminism. It was when I made a statement that my ambition was to be a great, loving housewife, because I would like to devote all my time to raising my kids and family. I had always loved kids (heck, my favourite youtube videos to watch are videos of adorable kids). And then a throng of feminazis descended upon me, calling me ignorant, uneducated, victim of internalised oppression (?!), and also what I think is a stock phrase used by American SJWs, "go pick up a book". I was like, excuse me? I'm not uneducated, in fact, I'm about to graduate law school. I am not oppressed, at every stage of my life, I have never been deprived of any opportunity merely because of my gender. I'm not ignorant, and have read up about feminism (I suspect I've read more books than the people who told me to "pick up a book"). Honestly, there are so many definitions of feminism floating around, I'm not even sure feminists can agree on one definition. but I know what feminism ISN'T. It isn't shaming a woman just because her choices/goals differ from yours. Since when did feminism mean that the choices women make had to fit some sort of feminist-endorsed mould? Are some feminists suggesting that a housewife is inferior to a corporate-powered career woman? Cuz that's pretty hypocritical. You're oppressing and discriminating ME, A WOMAN, just like the oppressors you cry out against. This, and several other incidents of hypocritical, intolerant, illogical 3rd wave feminism has made me shun this movement. I know not all 3rd wave feminists are like that. Nevertheless, I don't feel comfortable identifying as a member of a community that has such a large proportion of distasteful members.
@carpaccio45
@carpaccio45 7 жыл бұрын
CUBEgenre I have to agree with you on your comment. The problem with the 3rd wave feminists is that they preceive female success only as going into business, politics or anything related to material gains. Although there is nothing wrong in being influencial or rich, success is not just defined as having more money, it can be in the form of leaving a legacy, a happy family or even inventing something new, regardless on the size of impact. Unfortunately, these "feminazis" are the ones being so narrow minded that they even have to go as far to character assassinate someone with a different opinion.
@chokohlate

I see where you are coming from and it's a shame that SJWs made you feel like your choice on how to live your live are "wrong". I think at this point, the feminist agenda is getting quite intolerant and focused largely on binary sort of thinking which you and Xiaxue alike have mentioned. I identify as a feminist, but I am sick to death of "feminists" throwing the word "oppression" around. If a woman wants to stay and raise the kids, it is not any less honourable than being a woman with a office 9-5 job and it most certainly does not make her oppressed. We should in fact celebrate that we live in a world where we are able to choose. I thought this movement was largely about acceptance when I started identifying with it, but I'm lost on the anger the 3rd wave is moving with.

In Singapore, it is undeniable that females are accorded more rights and protection whereas males are burdened with more liabilities. Let me list some of these examples. Bear in mind that all of these are not merely ambiguous social protocols but legislated and institutionalised policies. S375 of the Penal Code The offence of rape is gender-specific. A woman cannot be charged with rape, regardless of how heinous a sexual misconduct she commits. Amendment to S376 of the Penal Code Prior to Jan 2020 (before the recent criminal law reform), a woman who 'rapes' a man (forces a man to penetrate her with his penis) cannot even be charged under S376 (sexual assault involving penetration). Hence, she can only be charged under S354 (outrage of modesty), which carries the maximum sentence of only 2 years imprisonment. In contrast, a man who commits exactly the same offence is deemed a case of rape, which carries the maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment, a difference of a factor of 10. Repeal of S509 and enactment of S377BA of the Penal Code Prior to Jan 2020, males are not protected under the insult of modesty (non-physical sexual harassment) law. In fact, prior to the establishment of Protection from Harassment Act in 2014, there is seemingly no legal recourse for males if they are subjected to non-physical harassment. Currently, women are still more protected than men from modesty related offences. Laws such as S27(1)(d) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act and S4 of the Defamation Act are gender-specific and only protect women. S377 of the Penal Code No provision pertaining to the deviant act of sexual exploitation of a corpse by a woman exist. Under the current legal framework, S377 (sexual penetration of a corpse) applies explicitly for males only. A woman who employs the penis of a deceased man to sexually penetrate herself on her own accord is seemingly not liable for any legal repercussion. S377A of the Penal Code Male homosexual acts of any nature (even private acts) are condemnable under the law (outrages of decency) whereas female homosexual acts are not subjected to this abjective limitation. S366, S372, S373, S373A of the Penal Code, Part XI of the Women's Charter etc Most laws protecting victims of prostitution are gender-specific and are only accorded to females. S61 of the Education (Schools) Regulations With regards to medical examination in school, consent from girls over the age of 10 is mandated under the law if they are to be examined by a male person. Consent from boys over the age of 10 (or of any age for the matter) is not mandated under the law, regardless of circumstances. S83 of the Criminal Procedure Code With regards to body searching, a male officer can only conduct searches upon a female person if he has strong reasons to believe that she is a terrorist and that she is about to carry out an act of terrorism. Conversely, no such limitation is imposed upon female officers and they are empowered to conduct searches upon persons of any sex, regardless of circumstances. S69 of the Women's Charter A woman is eligible to file for spousal maintenance against her husband regardless of circumstances. However, a man is only eligible to file for spousal maintenance against his wife if he is permanently incapacitated before or during the marriage and by virtue of his incapacity, he is rendered permanently unable to maintain himself. A woman is also eligible for file for nominal maintenance in cases where her earning capacity is similar or higher than her counterpart. A man is not accorded this right. Gender-specific financial schemes Schemes such as Working Mother's Child Relief, Basic Childcare Subsidy, Foreign Maid Levy Relief and Grandparent Caregiver Relief are only applicable for mothers. Even single fathers are not eligible for any of these perks. Unequal parental leave Mothers are entitled to 16 weeks of paid maternal leave whereas fathers are only entitled to 2 weeks of paid paternal leave. It must be said that a recent change in policy has allowed fathers to 'siphon' up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave from their counterparts, subjective to their partners' concurrence. However, only married fathers are entitled to paid paternal leave and shared parental leave. Mothers are entitled to paid maternity leave, regardless of marital status. Moreover, fathers, even single fathers are not entitled to paid adoption leave. An adoptive mother is entitled to 12 weeks of paid adoption leave. A married adoptive father is entitled to 4 weeks of shared parental leave, subjective to his partner's concurrence. A single adoptive father is not eligible for any parental leave aside from paid childcare leave. S4(3) of the Adoption of Children Act A single man is not eligible to adopt a female child unless in 'exceptional circumstances'. Conversely, a single woman is free to adopt a child of any sex. Termination of Pregnancy Act A father has absolutely zero prenatal parental rights but is subjected to the full spectrum of parental liabilities. A mother can, with her unilateral decision and without the consent or even knowledge of her counterpart, goes for an abortion and deprive her counterpart of his child, regardless of the father’s wishes or means. A mother can also, on her own decision and without the consent or knowledge of her counterpart, delivers a child, in which her counterpart is expected to fulfill his legal and moral obligations to be responsible for the welfare of the child, regardless of the father’s wishes or means. This is true even in cases whereby the child is a product of sexual assault perpetrated by the mother. The fundamental principle here is 'my body my choice'. Principles such as 'our child our choice', 'my money my choice' and 'its life its right to live' are of little significance. S53(e) of the Penal Code and S325 - S332 of the Criminal Procedure Code; S88 of the Education (Schools) Regulations Only males are subjected to institutionalised corporal punishment (judicial, military and school caning) in Singapore. Females are not to be caned under any circumstances. The principle of equal liberty and liability is of little significance when it comes to gender. National Service Only males are required to serve their mandatory obligation to the state. This is despite the fact that the stature governing the policies of national service (Enlistment Act) is gender-neutral and seemingly applies to all persons, regardless of sex. Persons who completed their mandatory service and persons who are exempted from service are accorded the same statutory rights and privileges.

Right that's why she decimated the character of Belle with her stupid feminist demands. Granted the writers didn't help, in that they didn't understand the character of Belle either. Belle is supposed to be a dreamer and in all likelihood ended up becoming a writer, rather than an inventor, I sort of see her as a Jane Austin type figure. She's passionate about her books, the difference in the animated and live-action versions "Little Town" sequence is very stark. Emma's delivery is dry and monotone - I mean this ties in to opinion that Emma Watson's just not a very good actress - but never mind. There's also the element of Belle's selflessness, she agrees to take her father's place as the beast's prisoner, but the only invention she's made has the specific purpose of giving her more free time to read - not even to invent. If Belle was real and an inventor, her inventions would be things that might benefit humanity.

"And with things like Feminism and the Women's March protest and the Me Too movement, it's finally going to change." -You mean the Feminism that is concerned with bullshit like 'manspreading' and 'if a man look at a woman on the street it is sexual harrasment'? -You mean the Women's March Protest that had as guest speakers Donna Hylton, the criminal (and misandrist) who tortured and murdered a man in cold blood, and 'Sharia advocate' Linda Sarsour? -You mean the Me Too Movement, where men who shared their abuse stories were shamed and told to "shut up, this is a female movement, stop appropriating it"? Yep, that's really helping your country change for the better. :D

I think im a feminist because of seeing the domestic violence rates in my home country of Poland - and similarly the murder rates of other eastern euro countries. The lack of charges placed on these offenses and the slap on the wrist, russian actually decriminalized domestic violence offenses, turning them into fines in 2017. 25 now, I grew up in america for 75% of my life anyway so I feel far more comfortable here - not needing to feel as terrified for my life at work/out lol it all varies by countries in regards to womens rights/true need of feminism honestly.

I felt the need to comment again :) I think there were butthurt feminists who reported this vid :/ I totally agree with most of the points you made XX, I don't care if people call me ignorant.I know 1st and 2nd wave feminism were definitely needed (and I thank these feminists for their hardwork), but I think the current 3rd wave feminism is too much (well, based on my life in Europe) - I get aggressive reactions from most of my feminists friends/acquaintances and they try to convince me that I am feminist, and I must be a feminist just because of my gender. I also got called for sexist because I told them I don't feel like a feminist since I don't protest actively, I don't even have any opinion that support this view, simply because I don't identify as one. Raised only in a family of females, I have never felt oppressed and only the feminists tries to tell me I am supposed to feel like I am the lower sex of this society, when in fact like you said there is a lot of advantages and things favoured on our side because of our sex. If feminists want everything to be absolutely equal, which I don't believe it's gonna happen since both sex has different advantages, then they might as well fight for equal right for males who are sentenced for a longer period than women for the exact same crime, or to abolish the law that women can escape death penalty if they manage to impregnate themselves, which obviously men cannot do. I can support some cases that feminists are fighting for, but not everything and I do not want to be called for a feminist.

I have heard such similar stories so many times from women, it bears repeating. A woman grows up with a relatively normal life, not feeling oppressed by the dreaded patriarchy. And then she either 1) meets feminists, or 2) enters a liberal university setting. Then every effort is made by friends and teachers to convince this same woman that she has actually suffered and is actually oppressed, despite what her very experiences tell her. And, unfortunately, many women fall for this brain washing and drink the Kool Aid. Thank you for not being one of them.

I will agree with all the point you made with respect to Singapore, I'm Singaporean and I definitely agree. But since then I've moved all over the world and I've seen countries where feminism if genuinely needed. I've seen female foeticide, 11 year old girls married to 40 year old men, girls being shunned during their period because they're considered "impure". But the irony is, 3rd world feminism doesn't actually help the women THAT ACTUALLY NEED IT. I really really hope we can move towards a more equal society all over the world, but we're going to need more than just twitter activism for that.

Real feminism should be equality and respecting everyone and thats the truth. Xiauxue is very honest and really blunt thats why they love her im glad she told her opinion. Feminism is definitely required for lots of countries still . Only because you are privileged doesn't mean there aren't other women who aren't. Lots of women are killed simply for being women . okay in the job aspect of feminism, i completely agree with you. i am a feminist but i don't fight for everything that a third wave feminist fights for. i'm a feminist not because women don't have equal rights and whatnot, but more about the social stigmas that are present in our society. Gender roles: society has assigned roles to genders and people are pressured to be a certain way and act a certain way. i am a feminist because i want men to be comfortable if they are more feminine and i want females to feel comfortable if they are more masculine and they shouldn't be ridiculed for that. it is a fact that society has deemed being feminine as a weakness (hear me out): being feminine defines you to be more emotional and hormonal, which is seen as a weakness. and more women are more feminine compared to men, so naturally there's sadly already a sort of social disadvantage as the "natural" thinking of female = feminine = weak. i am personally androgynous ( i display both masculine and feminine qualities ) ( i am a boy btw ) and i am ridiculed for being that way. my personality is a grey area between the binaries of masculinity and femininity, and i'm seen as weak. it is very saddening to see how society is taught that being emotional = being weak [ emotional meaning that you have strong feelings towards a lot of things, not sad ] [ and also addressing that the social norm at the moment is feminine = emotional OR feminine = submissive and easy to be taken advantage of, because being feminine equates to weakness. ] because the boys in my school are taught to "take it like a man" and "not to be a girl about it" which is really sickening because there is an obvious implication of female = weak. that is why i am a feminist. i am a feminist to break the norms, the binaries, the social standards and stigmas. but other than that, i actually really agree with you. i really do. i just wanted to add another dimension of feminism which is not talked much about; which is why i am a feminist. let me know what you think!!

Feminism is an IDEOLOGY. It is the framework in which feminists operate. It is an ideology that promotes equal rights of women and men. This is the reason why it is redundant in 1st world countries where women have the same (if not more) rights as men. Xiaxue is addressing this fact and the redundancy of feminism in such countries such as Singapore. Just because some women in these countries might have faced some form of adversity, it is not a representation of the majority of women. Guess what? Men face plenty of challenges everyday, you don't see them screaming sexism/misandry. NEWSFLASH, everyone faces problems time to time, but it is not synonymous with the rights the person is granted. Third wave feminism operates on the idea that women, wherever they are, should not be exposed to ANY difficulty at all, thus infantilising them and Xiaxue refuses to be infantilised. In conclusion, third wave feminism is not for equal rights(which women already have) it is for SPECIAL TREATMENT.

@@amberslahlize7961 equality doesn't mean sameness. A physically/mentally abled person is not the same as completely abled person. A black person might not be the same as an Asian person. Similarly a woman might not be same as a man. But does that mean any of the group of people I've mentioned about, be deprived of basic human rights such as a right to be respected, right to choose what to wear, right to consent, right to freedom of speech etc etc. And before you say, women already have all those rights, please go to a 3rd world country, or atleast a 2nd world. I found your video pretty interesting. But I think your views stem from (1) a position of privilege and (2) a major misunderstanding of the intricacies of feminism. Also, please note that 'quote' from the most influential radical feminist is actually a misquote. A simple Google would clear that up. MacKinnon has never stated that and if you were to study her theories, you would see how the misunderstanding arises. Next, I think it pretty unfair to those who would like to mount a debate with you when you draw the limits of replies to third wave feminism because honestly, third wave has yet to be defined i.e the boundaries are still in flux and there is the charge of essentialism to consider plus the idea of how feminism in the past has mostly been Western and middle class which means that it gives rise to a difficult position of non-inclusivity. Plus, third wave is essentially a amalgamation of movements from the past and their criticisms. Then comes the charge of equality. The problem with this is a flawed understanding of equality. The idea of equality is not limited to just same treatment for everyone. It is the idea that like situations are treated alike whilst different situations are treated differently in so far as they objectively require that difference. Also, if you were to read more into feminism proper, you would see that the liberal school popularised the charge of equality but it has also been subject to criticisms precisely for the reason I have stated above. Regarding your position on, and I paraphrase, how you have been oppressed into loving your oppressors, the gender pay gap, women as home builders, I think these were all vacuum observations and thus, not indicative of the actual situation. Also, you may find the writings of Gilligan for cultural feminism and MacKinnon's take on the Marxist class position to be helpful here. The entirety of your video would potentially find a new spin with the materials above. Cheers.

If you choose to leave your hair, fine, but you can't force us to like/accept the shit you do and scream patriarchy when man reject you. Be responsible on your personal decision. Women find men's body hair disgusting too, we did shave, but you don't see us bitching when women rejecting us for having body hair.

I’ve no idea why I got suggested this video by KZbin but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Refreshing to see a women actually using her own mind, thinking logically about things and you know, forming her own opinions based on reality and facts. Keep up the good work. I’ll be back for sure.

well.. as a feminist that believes in the "old" version of feminism.. i have to say that i do not think that we as women are opressed.. there are still feminist that don't think that way. i personally am more of a humanitarian.. i think that humans/people as a whole should all get the same rights.. that really.. it would be nice to think that were just people.. who happen to have different backgrounds, skin colors and genders.. but although i agree with most of what you said.. i don't agree with the shaving part. im not lazy for chosing to let my natural body hair grow.. im just being a human.. lol if it wasn't right.. it wouldn't be there. patriarchy has told us its nasty, unsexy and wrong.. and to that ill just say.. LMAO.

Ok, so... I’m just gonna say it, I AM A FEMINIST and if ur not or don’t agree that’s totally fine with me, as we all have different opinions and have equal freedom of speech(I’m sure you all have really good reasons) but what we really need to understand here is the difference between feminism and toxic feminism, not all feminists think the same way, some people Believe in female superiority but saying that girls who don’t shave or wear makeup are disgusting and ugly(11:06), in my opinion is distinguishable as it is our body and we have the right to control it And if some woman choose not to it is completely up to them and If u say that is disgusting, ugly and lazy, It is also a form of oppression and body shaming, I don’t mind ur opinion or what you say but personally don’t agree with it.

So do you believe in equality between females and males? If so then I must burst your bubble: total equality will never happen. If you advocate for females to be treated differently and not abused like treated like meatbags then that's different, but mark my words, total equality will never happen.

Xiaxue not only do you have a rocking sense of humor you have the brains and (un)common sense. The fact that KZbin, Facebook and most powerful media platforms censor / delete content that is against third wave feminism, and allows misandric content to be spread, already proves your point about feminism in developed countries. You always have and will continue to have my respect :)

I totally agree women now a days are more privileged then men. Women's problems are more important as seen with many single mother shelters and support they receive, and men are told to act like a man and don't cry. Women can get away with so much more than men, just make a false rape accusation and that man's life is ruined.

modern feminism is people having a passion to fight for stuff and since all the important stuff is gone they find new things that don't make sense and lose all credibility.

it's lie a soldier fighting for world peace. all his life he trained for world peace but if world peace is attained, what will he do ? he lives for fighting, and there is no fighting so his life has no purpose or he will try to fight for dumb shit. or be mature and move on.

Hi Xiaxue, I think it's more than fair to point out the double standard of wanting men to pay for meals, but also wanting other "feminist" standards being applied in society. However, I think there are a number of self identifying feminists who are willing to be introspective of ways in which they receive advantages, too. I can't speak for others, but one of the ways that I try to practice feminism by not forcing stereotypes on how any one person acts. For example, I have to re-investigate why I think some men are "too feminine" or therefore not as attractive by virtue of being sensitive, and how I might internally judge a strong willed female for being "too intense." I'm not claiming to be perfect, but I don't think it's entirely fair to assume that all feminists want a world where chivalry meets feminist legal agenda. I think true feminism is empowering women with the choice to be a house wife instead of career-driven, but also being equally as supportive if the one staying at home is dad.
