Boat build quality made great leaps and bounds from the late 90's on. With composite stringers to composite transoms, along with better fiberglass compounds and coatings, purchasing a decent used boat, then up grading carpet, electronics,seats, even a new motor makes good financial sense.

Just bought a 25' 2013 w/ 300hp with the $ from my last 2004 19' w/ 115hp. I fix them, sell them, and then upgrade. Fun to build, fun to run, fun to fish from. Not for everyone, but a fun hobby that can pay for itself.

Bought my first boat and went used got a 1998 Cobia center console. One day maybe get a brand new boat, have to keep it at a storage place. It's crazy how much more storage cost for over 20ft.

I’ve heard with bass boats go Aluminum body or at least into the 90s due to companies getting away from wood transoms

That motors really good on gas unless you run WOT, mine seems like it uses twice the gas @ WOT.

i have to strongly disagree about towing , your normal 1/2 ton truck can out to your wallet , i grantee it and once you get big 35 foot three engines boats the towing rig is cheaper the fishing tackle on that boat .. none sense agurment
