Most liter bikes are wastes of money unless you track it or you're riding at felony speeds. People buy these kind of bikes because 'they want the best' and want a cool showpiece, but these are way too much bike for everyday riding both in terms of performance and cost. The fact that you can get the equivalent of a Lambo or Ferrari of bikes for less than the cost of a tricked out Elantra leads people to purchase these super-bikes and when they get it, they realize it's not nearly as much fun as they thought. Once all of the associated maintenance, fuel and insurance costs come in and the fact that you have to baby the throttle or you'll go flying into some very bad situations and the fact that 90% of that performance will never be utilized in most common riding scenarios, many folks realize they made a mistake. Stop and go traffic on a superbike = nightmare fuel

The ninja 650s comfort can’t save it from the rest of its specs and that miserable motor. Also the z650 is much more comfortable than the ninja 650 and the sv650 isn’t THAT far off. There’s lots of other options too, my purpose here isn’t to argue FOR the SV But rather AGAINST the ninja 650. You can literally have a used mt07 or xsr for the same money, not to mention countless older characterful bikes. I’ve spoken to countless ninja 650 owners in my life and the only ones that didn’t regret & either sell it or wish they’d sold it before it depreciated were ppl that were clueless about bikes and rode solo and just wanted a new bike and liked the the looks and comfort and that was all that mattered…and most of them even wound up wishing they’d just bought a even MORE practical bike like a Versys or V strom. Bottom line is there’s just too many great bikes to settle for something so subpar in every way…ppl buy it because they tend to not know what they want yet and see it as a safe choice…and for most ppl the ninja 400 is a better way to do that while saving money because if those are your priorities you don’t need the minuscule performance difference down low of the 650. They have nearly identical top speeds. OP, I warned you, I wish someone had warned me. Instead I went through 3 bikes in 3 months and a bunch of water tax dollars

Buy longer lasting tires (estimated 10K miles) like Dunlop Roadsmart 4 that still have a sport profile and all the grip you need. Gas is going to be expensive if your bike requires 90+ octane no matter the bike.

This is how I think too, but I would never post it on the internet because people would start blowing holes in my logic

I found this out decades ago… don’t ever try to justify a motorcycle because you’re saving money in any way unless you’re riding one bike without any other form of transportation on a long lasting car tire. You’re a fool to think otherwise. For the cost of the mt07 you could have bought tires and oil for 50000 miles of a high end sport bike.

Me, a Brazilian with a lot of hustle to buy an mt03 seeing this guy saying mt07 is a small bike... Am I a joke to you, sir?
