I work at power sports dealer my boss told me not to buy old jet skis. That they are junk and break all the time. Parts are hard to find. And expensive to fix. However… I’m hard headed and love 90’s anything! And still probably cheaper than a newer 14 grand unit.

Classic dealers! They are the reason great old machines are dieing out, yes I sympathise that BRP put pressure on them with not providing any real support but for all the owners that have bought new skis from those very dealers, I believe they should have an obligation to service and provide the product support. My dad has been dealing with one dealer for the last 30 years and they literally turned there back on working on my dads old 2 strokes even though they sold it to him back in the day! It’s wrong but it’s the reality, the bit they didn’t bank on is there are still many enthusiasts out there that love the old and that they are missing a trick with not servicing old and making money out of people like me that would happily pay above odds for parts and work... don’t let the negativity put you off...my old skis out as big a smile on my face than any Seadoo spark I have even rode!

I have a old beat up 550 and a brand new superjet and they're both fun. 550 is temperamental, but you only need a couple of minutes of fun to please you.

I have the same one that i bought about 8 years ago for only 2k, and it also looks like brandnew. In the winter i pressurewash the engine bay and cover everything with silicone spray so that nothing can corode, and plastics and rubbers won't harden and become brital. So with just this little maintenance you can keep them as new and running for at least another 30 years.
@classicjetskis5 ай бұрын
Thats mega mate, love this. Sounds like you have a great clean example, it sounds like you've been taking excellent care of your ski. The winter maintenance routine you described-cleaning the engine bay is what keeps them fresh...although I'm not a fan of pressure washing 2 stroke engines with carbs/air boxes/electric around, plus paint peel on old weaker paint etc. Silicone spray-is a smart way to prevent corrosion and keep everything in top condition. Thanks for watching dude😎

Amazing what luck! I have never seen such a clean underside. The cloured hull skratch the easiest! I just bought what I though was an oem lanyard which ended up being a chinese copy. The red was more pale, the strap was thiner and it did not clip aswell. They are hard to find!
@classicjetskis2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, I know right...I couldn't believe how un marked it was...I think its likely the one scratch is an accident in isolation which happens to the best of us to be fair... Yeh man the lanyards are tricky, there are a lot of similar looking ones but I always buy straight from Yamaha as they are surprisingly a part they still sell to this day...
@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel Жыл бұрын
@@classicjetskis they use the same lanyards on the brand new skis. We have a 2020 EX Sport. Same lanyard.

We have two X2s I just picked up a couple months ago. When you pull the seat off the X2 there's a sticker with instructions on how to get two riders on it. So a Blaster 2 shouldn't be that bad.
@classicjetskis Жыл бұрын
Nice, yes we have since got us both on it with not too much trouble...getting 2 on the x2 is impressive...nice work!

@Classic Jetskis I've never ridden two up on a X2. Just got two of them before winter here so I'm working on giving them a bunch of upgrades.

We have similar tastes in skis- I have a WB2 and a WaveRaider 1100 as well. We had some difficulty in getting two-up on the Raider, so I imagine the B2 would be more difficult. A more experienced passenger would help. Oh and I would guess this was about $3500 new???
@classicjetskis2 жыл бұрын
Nice!!! great taste my friend, I did think it might be a tall order getting me and Megs on the Blaster but we will make it happen lol, I'll make a video showing it aswell... Very good guess on the price, it was $3999 new in 1998, so its held it's value pretty good, seeing as a I paid £2300 ($2800)..Thanks for watching and supporting dude ✌
