All the new Fords are bad anyway! The last good year Fords were in 2003. Also, parts nowadays for any car are in short supply and it seems that’s the only way to rebuild

You almost shed a tear for a car with a "cow catcher" grill and a hearse rear end? Don't forget all the nice brittle plastic! Only thing it's missing is the casket for the back. 🙃 Milk shake in a 3.5/3.7... ummm let me guess... a bad water pump leaked all it's goodness into the crankcase. Designed to fail!

I needed front end parts for my Jeep XJ after getting clipped by a 16 year old with more get-there-itis than sense. Found the same make, model, year AND COLOR in a yard. That's the ultimate win - $400 for every part I needed and the paint was sun faded to an exact match.

Buying a second vehicle for needed parts, in today's economy, does cost less because Parts Availability is crazy! Also, it saves you months, not having to wait! I saw a video where the mechanic needed a gasket for an oil filter housing. The gasket was unavailable, but the oil filter housing w/ needed gasket was available!

It' a 2011 and it's breaking mostly because the original manufacturer used plastics that had unstable poly molecules and they have started breaking apart. OTOH, my Honda CRV is 2010 and the plastic parts are healthy. Some of which I recently popped off to fix a little fender bend. I didn't break any of them and after pushing out the dent they popped back on. I think some manufacturers are making cars with no consideration for lasting longer than 10 years because they will be used up North where the salt is going to kill them no matter what. I am thinking they should make two types of cars. One for the rust belt and another for the non-rust belt. A 10 year car and a 20 year car.

10:56 Question for you: when you're pulling parts off one, is it advantageous to have the 2nd car next to you so as you pull parts off, you just walk over and put them on it? Of course there are things like you can't replace the valve cover or radiator support after you've put the new fender on.... Just wondering what works best for you.

One thing about the whole car being less than the parts you need. That's a major issue up here in Canuckistan. There's a big parts recycler not far from me, they literally want like 20% less for used parts than you can buy new. I was looking for parts for my Ford 5.4L (shut up stop laughing!! STOP LAUGHING!!) and i was shocked......a rebuilt head was $900 and they wanted $700 for a pull with 250,000 kms on it. They wanted $500 for a steering rack and a rebuilt one was $600. When they emailed me the prices I wrote back: that S you see on my forehead stands for sexy NOT stupid....lol.....
