Why I Bought This In 2021 | Seiko Alpinist Sarb017

Yo guys, this is video goes over why i purchased this lovely yet old piece that is discontinued. This specific model just speaks to me as a watch enthusiast. The dial is stunning, the fit and finish is very very nice and the history and branding just caught me. Should you buy this watch over the new models? maybe? I can’t really answer that question for you but, I would choose this one any day of the week.

Looking at those scratched indecies and not centered date I'm pretty shure that you buyed the fake Alpinist like me the first time. You could differentiate the original one and the fake on the surface only when you have them side by side. You could also screw off the back and if it's not the 6R15 inside you buyed the fake. And all the fakes have the same serial number, which is 700738.

The Sarb017 in my own opinion is better than the newer version. I don’t really dig the cyclops. This one is hard to beat offers so much bang for your buck at least when it wasn’t discontinued. Good luck getting one for a good price!

I really want the 017 from new. It's the one to that to me can do it all. Field, diver, casual and dress depending on the strap or bracelet. Don't like the new models.

Hey Phil, not to be a downer but I would be wary of the authenticity of this one in the video. The SEIKO logo under 12 should be brushed instead of polished like the indices. I purchased one via amazon in 2019 and fought with them for weeks after being concerned if it was legit -- turns out the seller on Amazon was removed for selling fakes. Research your serial number on the back to see if its a common number, mine was a commonly found S/N on the fake ones. Just looking out for ya, also just subbed!
