I have the utmost respect for J.MacArthur but I am sure he would wholeheartedly agree with this - man is only the messenger bearing a seed. It is God who provides the increase. If the seed is good and falls on good soil it will grow. When I was first being saved I did not know where to turn so I tuned in Kenneth Copeland because he was available. I quickly found I did not hear my Lord's voice although there were morsels of truth intermixed with what he said. But he had no negative effect on the strength of my faith. It is the Word that counts - not the messenger. So when beloved pastors fall prey to sin, it does not necessarily reflect badly on what they taught - just that we are all sinners and fall far short of who we should be.

@@bama101010 11 Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron? 12 For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. 13 For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. 14 For it is evident that our Lord [a]was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. 15 And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, 16 who has become such not on the basis of a law of [b]physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. 17 For it is attested of Him, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” 18 For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath 21 (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever’”); 22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. 23 [c]The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to save [d]forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%207:11-25&version=NASB1995

May we not put any man up to high. Even John McCarther it seems he is lifted up as infallible by some. I see people as followers of JM which we should not do. If Ravi could fall if Peter could deny Christ why is JM above them. Psalm 118:8-9. Be very careful all of us as God will have no one lifted up or defended above him. It's as if the followers of JM can not fathom him ever doing anything wrong nor teaching anything wrong. If that is you then JM has become your JC. Just careful church. Humility is the greatest sign of maturity. Even Paul called himself the chief sinner. My two cents.

@linda2468lou3 жыл бұрын
Scott Kraniak, it is not that John MacArthur can't/doesn't sin. It's more about the lifestyle of John MacArthur being so different than Ravi's especially since John MacArthur is a member of a church and under the authority of church elders and deacons who watch over the flock for signs of sinning and unholy behaviors. Ravi spent long periods of time in Asia and out of town being away from the watchful eyes of a congregation and church leaders. I am not even certain that Ravi was a member of a church. But one other thing which seems more important from reading the report provided from his own ministry's investigative team is that Ravi's sins were accumulating over a long period of time and it was more like a pattern of his living over time, a lifestyle. Whereas, John MacArthur may sin but his lifestyle is holy, set apart from worldly living. Another important point to know is that anyone who "follows" (learns from) John MacArthur would NEVER substitute John for Jesus Christ (JC as you disrespectfully call my Lord and Savior).

He simply said that he would check into that and the next time he spoke, he shared what this young man pointed out to him and then admitted he had been wrong on that point and spoke to the correction. That was in the late '90's and his grace and humility so struck me, it is as vivid now as it was then.

John McArthur is a strong pillar of faith. Some people will always try to damage his image, but the reality is that facts speak for themselves and John doesn't need verbal justification because his deeds are sufficed.

Why won't you give an interview with Roys, like she's requested, and listen to her side and the evidence she has? It's easy to interview a friend who paints Roys (a fellow Christ-follower) in a bad light. Perhaps it would be fair and honorable that you give an unbiased interview with her, allowing her to present her evidence.
@christophersmith74123 жыл бұрын
If she has evidence she should have presented It but instead she preferred to make a hit piece with anonymous sources. This is muckraking pure and simple.

I’m honestly flummoxed that people feel the need to find something to complain about. To me that says a lot about someone. I’m fond of & admire John MacArthur & personally feel as long as his personal life is not in conflict with the biblical prescriptions for a pastor, what he does or how much he earns is in no way any of our business. I’ve noticed many of the folks who’ve taken issue are the same kind of people who crave a way to appear or feel more righteous than others.

By the way, the McArthur study Bible is one of the best investments I’ve ever made. Regardless of how you feel about him personally, his work speaks for itself. I would highly encourage obtaining one so you can see for yourself.

I am from Alberta, and I can tell you that Satan is trying very hard to destroy the churches. I have not attended our church for the same reasons that many who believe in standing firm in their conscience are doing. We have been basically forced to do underground church if we do not comply with the Covid-19 protocols of not singing, and not wearing masks in the church. It is so sad. I applaud James Coates and I am behind him 100%
@Christinme4ever3 жыл бұрын
John MacArthur is not afraid of men, that's why he is under fire. Any man that stands as firmly on his convictions in God and God's sovereignty is a threat to those who are weak in faith or have no faith. Why? Because nothing can truly harm those who are not afraid. God is for them. And if you have the Holy God of the Universe standing with you, you have nothing to fear. John knows that if they grind his name in the ground, it doesn't change who Christ is. And he is about setting Christ on the top of the pedestal, not himself. We all need to take a page out of John's book. And his financial wealth is furthering God's work in this world. After so many years of faithfully preaching the truth to the world, John deserves the ability to be rewarded. Men like him are examples of Christ. They are priceless.

@@Christinme4ever well I’m from Alberta to, and this pastor is on an ego trip and putting all his congregation in risk. We have not attended our church for a while but we still watch every service online. We are limited to 15% attendance for churches but that will change as cases drop. Amazingly he is going against scripture where we are commanded to obey the laws of the land, and in this case it is very important fo the welfare of our neighbors that is also a biblical commandment for Christians. This pastor is doing more harm to the Christian testimony than good. I think it is time they also start fining attendees also. Since God is everywhere I cannot understand people that have to attend a building when most churches are online.
@Christinme4ever3 жыл бұрын
You need to watch his sermon from February 14th. You will see that you are the ones who are taking the scripture out of context. Time to step up and put God first, not man.
@wallyloose89523 жыл бұрын
@@Christinme4ever God is always first and in control. His ego is giving all of us Christians a bad name, yes he is where he belongs as he wants to be there, and yes his congregation that is attending these services need to be fined also. As a Christian I am to follow the laws of the country, period, unless the laws go against scripture. What the government has put in place to try and keep the cases down is not against scripture. He is perverting God’s Word to further his ego and he will be judged.

Justin, thank you for this video, but both you and John MacArthur have shown integrity, truth, and love in your ministries. The fact that so many professed Christians jump onto social media to go on attack mode towards either you or John MacArthur shows the depths of discernment for so many. Neither one of you have to explain every single aspect of your ministries, particularly against baseless attacks, but you are gracious enough to do explain many things anyway. John MacArthur is a wonderful teacher. I utilize his study Bible nearly everyday (the best birthday present my wife could have gotten me). The only thing I would ever disagree with him on are his millennial views. However, many of his colleagues have varying millennial views and they can still remain brothers in Christ (e.g. RC Sproul's views are different even if they are fluid). Thank you, Justin for your continued service to Christ through your ministries.

An elder should be "beyond reproach". St. Paul defended himself - over and over again. What does John MacArthur have to hide? What??
@christophersmith74123 жыл бұрын
Beyond reproach doesn't mean beyond accusation. Jesus was falsely accused of all kinds of wickedness He could have defended himself and rebuked every false charge but did not. You Sir, showed biblical wisdom by NOT requesting an interview that would have put a true, gracious and humble man of GOD into a position of having to decline - having to "defend" himself and list his godly attributes, or "prove" himself. Let another...praise you (defend you) and not your own words. Indeed. Those who are out to slander the character of a genuine Christian would (if given an opportunity) twist the truth and make it look like proud boasting or outright deception. John MacArthur has taught me many truths from the WORD of GOD. He has been greatly used by GOD to bless me...as have you Justin. May GOD richly bless you and multiple your eternal reward. Your Sister, Darla
